Clone Wars was made to fill in the gaps between Episode 3, and provide more context and meaning behind the reasons the galaxy wound up the way it did. Unlike Rebels which was just a waste of time and did nothing to improve the Civil War era.
What should have happened was that the prequels should've been more than a trilogy. There was just too much important info they couldn't fit into 3 films.
Fear of a boy leaving his mother Anger towards the Sand People for killing his mother Hate towards the Jedi Order Suffering from the Empire and the First Order
the innocence of the little boy dreaming of visiting all the stars contrasted with the tortured sith looking out over his power and those same stars is really powerful
This really makes you appreciate Hayden's performance in the prequels. He had the hardest job in Star Wars history. To literally take the most feared character in Star Wars and make him the hero in one movie and then the next he was asked the turn him into the most feared character again. He handled the anakin to Vader transition like a pro to me
Hollis Hankins fr. Like when he killed the sand people and in the last half of the third when u can see the hate in his eyes. That always gets me man. When hes burning, the emotion on his face. When hes about to kill the kids, the look in his eyes and shit. The emotion in his voice. Idk what all the hates for
Nick Alexander is not Hate, is fear, fear to lose his wife like he lost his mother, palpatine lied to Anakin so he would turn to the Dark side, and because palpatine said he could help him save his wife he did everything he was told, but he didnt realize what he was doing, he was blinded by his fear, by the dark side, and Obi one telling Anakin that he was a greater jedi that he could ever hope to be made Anakin feel unstoppable
The Super Clone you both are correct its not just hate its fear, anger and greed all of those are "dark side" emotions and to truly become a powerful sith you must embrace all of those emotions which in turn allows you to tap into the powers of the dark side.
I believe he really heard padmes voice saying “stop, stop now come back, I love you” as the last redemption. Seeing their son in that pain broke their heart.
Darth Skygamer yes.. that’s my point... he had visions of the future that was going to take place. And palps knew how he would react to the visions. Ie why he gave him the visions of his mother dying in ep2 to take revenge on the sand people and use the dark side. Also then showing him Padmé dying .that was only going to happen if he went to the dark side to begin with. Which he didn’t know but thought it was going to happen if he stayed on the light. (but could of been completely avoided with Disney’s new “force heal” bs)... whilst putting him on the Jedi council and knowing the Jedi council would hate this furthering his distrust and anger with them.
I don´t think anyone thinks of them as the chosen one, they are just some fanfiction by JJ Abrams that only appeal to young kids who haven´t seen the original or the prequel trilogy.

Anakin was truly the Chosen One. Even though he fell to the Dark Side, he truly brought balance to the force by defeating Darth Sidious and saving his son. He lost so much, and deserved so much more. But at least he was with his family, his son, in his final moments. He trained to be a Jedi, became a Sith… But died as the Hero of the Galaxy
Disney: Nope, he didnt do nothing. Edit: I mean he died to kill palpatine and evidently failed. So his turn to the light, was almost moot, after 30 years. The chosen one, wasnt even the chosen one anymore!!
Ironically means that Luke was also 23 when faced with an almost identical situation as Anakin, but chose to stay with the Light rather than fall to the dark. Doing what Anakin could never do
“You are strong and wise Anakin, and I am very proud of you. I have trained you since you were a small boy, and you have become a far greater Jedi than I could ever hope to be.” Hits you right in the feels when you watch the prequels and see what he becomes due to everyone he lost!😢
Qui-Gon found him. Obi-Wan taught him. Yoda spoke of him. *He's the Chosen One. He will Bring Balance to the Force.* He did by destroying all the Jedi and the Sith. By helping Palpatine and killing him. He was a slave till his son set him free
Ninjaman712 lmao no it isn’t. Stop being a butthurt sequel trilogy hater and just accept it. Even if you hate it, it’s still canon, whether it’s the best or worst thing you have ever seen.

When you put it into perspective, the story of Star Wars is about Anakin. Luke was the catalyst to bringing him back, but I believe we are actually seeing his story in all stages of his life. From slave, to padawan, to general, to husband, to knight, to father, to sith lord and finally as what he was always meant to be. The savior.
How many people shed a few tears while watching this, a tragic story of fall from grace, loss and battle of what's right and what's wrong, then the best redemption arch a character can go through, i loved this, great job
In Episode I: Anakin was a fearful boy. In Episode II: Anakin was an angry young man. In Episode III: Anakin was a hateful man. In episodes IV-VI: He was a suffering old man. “Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.” -Jedi Master Yoda
Every year I come back to this video and get as emotional as ever watching. For those that understand SW and George’s vision of the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker this really hits.
He only drove the villian away which I am extremely mad. The new episode 9 is now the legacy of Skywalker that bested the dark side once and for all. So technically, he isnt the chosen one. The chosen one rather is the new gen of his bloodline that will end the darkness. I believe it is in rey and Kylo as both were trained by Luke.
Lost his freedom Lost his mother Lost his body Lost his apprentice Lost his friends Lost his army Lost his faith Lost his master and family Lost his only love Lost his son and daughter But still..... A true Jedi to the very end
You can’t imagine the pain and suffering he went through. Yet he still continued towards what he thought was right. He lost everything, but yet he continued to fight. He wasn’t trusted by the council(mainly Mace Windu) but he still tried his best to prove to them that he was trust worthy. A hero turned who lost his way. But then found it again. And in the end he for filled his destiny
I don't think he counts as "A True Jedi" to the very end. That kind of skips over the whole "Killing all the Jedi" phase that he had before his last hour of life, lol. But yeah...I don't think I realized until now how hard Anakin got fucked in life.
Jinn realised 50 years earlier what Luke later realised. He was the grey jedi connected to the living force who saw all along that the Jedi were proud and dogmatic. I doubt he knew what consequences it would have if Obi-Wan trained the boy, for the galaxy and for the life of the poor boy, but he knew that it was the right thing to do.
TheJohan167 in episode two when anakin starts to cut down Tuscan raiders you can hear jinns voice calling out to him. Gets me every time. He knew all along. He was so wise and the council was so stubborn!
Don’t care what anyone says, Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker was my childhood. He was my Luke Skywalker if that makes any sense. He was my childhood hero.
I just realised that the reason why darth vader always looked at the stars when he was in the star destroyer was because when he was a kid he always wanted to visit all of them. It's sad, but it proves he was still anakin deep down
Story of Anakin Skywalker is truly a Shakespearean tragedy. But at the end, he redeemed himself. What I take away from his story is a father's love for his son will always triumph.
"It is too late for me, son." that wasn't the tone of someone who believes their on the right side of things, not the man who was bitter at the world. That was a tone of resignation. Of a man who knows he's gone down the wrong path, and doesn't think he can get back. That was Anakin Skywalker.
This is why the original six Star Wars movies and The Clone Wars TV series tell quite possibly the greatest story ever. The Skywalker saga is a quintessential tale of hope, love, loss, betrayal, regret, and redemption that spans the stars. Flawed as the movies can be, at their core the story they tell is as timeless as they come.
This video makes you pity Anakin He lost his mom to the sand people, He lost his wife to Palpatine He lost his padawan to the council He lost his master from himself
@@jerrysnail9267 I cant quite remember the book a read bout Darth Vader when he was in hunting down the Jedi. A 1 on 1 battle was mention he was a bit clumsy in hes suit. 🤔dk if he became less strong🤔
Guys about the power thing with Anikan is that yes he lost power but his suit gave him the edge he needed for more power (he just had to get used to it) the only thing he had to give up was his agility. In fact in legends, Palpatine was going to give him a much improved suit, which fits exactly for Vader's needs and capabilities. Palpatine feared that Vader could grow even more powerful than him and take over his position as supreme leader. So Palpatine canceled it. Also Vader's suit was SUPPOSED to be annoying and itchy and this and that. Palpatine made sure of it so his constant hate and rage would be directed towards his enemies in the battlefield. So yes he manages it through a hellish feeling.
"Where is Padme? Is she safe? Is she alright?" "It seems, in your anger, you killed her." "I... I couldn't have." His voice. The music. I. This is so beautiful.
Zim invader The music rising in the background with Luke's voice saying "It is the name of your true self, you've only forgotten!" is magnificent. I found out that the song is called "Tessa", and it's on the Transformers: Age of Extinction music soundtrack. Also, I read a book called "Are You Afraid, Darth Vader?" and it is sublime. If you haven't read it, it's a kids' book, but it's really good.
Qui-Gon left him (killed) His mother left him (killed) His apprentice left him (left the Order) The Jedi Order left him (didn't trust him) His wife and true love left him (died in childbirth) But the last words of his son (who believed in him and brought him back to the Light side): "I won't leave you."
Ahsoka also says that in Star Wars: Rebels after she learns who he is. "I won't leave you. Not this time." They both leave that battle wounded physically and much more, mentally.
Ahsoka did say that, however unlike Luke she didn't succeed to bring Anakin back, and the reason is simple. Vader hated himself, he hated his past, he regretted his actions, and he already had a past with Ahsoka, not to mention she even said "Not this time." Which again, brings him more hate as he remembers what he has done. Luke did bring him to light because he had no past relationship with him, and he also saw him as an opportunity for a new future.
Agree. Same concept was depicted in Kenshin. Satou, Shishio and all those drom his past only suceed in bringing out the beast within. Kaoru, and everyone from the present dont care about the past and thus focus on him now, and help Kenshin bring out the best of himself.
Correction , his wife left him because he was deluded. Obi-wan tried to stear him straight - he left Obi-Wan and killed the Jedi(that is on him). Basically he became a tool for the dictator Emperor (who deceived him).
The beginning when Vader was looking off into the distance and young anakins voice playa over his masked face staring off contemplating everything, it brought tears to my eyes. Anakin is the most beautifully, deep and complex character in all of star wars and cinema history. Born without a father, poor, a slave with no hope for the future, taken from his mother, his mother taken from him, fell into forbidden love, feared loss again, fell to darkness, lost his title and gained a new one, destroyed the order he fought for his whole life, lost his wife, lost his friends, lost his children, lost his body and became trapped in a suit which made him suffer constantly and was the fuel for his hatred, comitted terrible acts, met his son and daughter years later and his heart was again moved and awoken, defeated his wicked master who fooled him and saved his son and was redeemed. Beautiful. No one can tell me there is a better star wars character. Anakin's story is fundamentally about what it means to be human. Anakin's redemption story resonates because it tells us all something we desperately want to believe - that no matter what we've done, it's never too late to turn back. It's never too late to learn from your mistakes. It's never too late to stand up, dust yourself off, and turn around. You are never too far gone to change. Vader tells Luke earlier, "It's too late for me, son", yet his last words were "You were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right..." It's only too late to change if you have convinced yourself of that very fact. Personally, as a Christian, I relate Anakin's redemption to the idea that none of us are too far gone to be beyond God's forgiveness. We're all flawed, but we aren't lost if we turn and accept God's pardon through Jesus.
His mother, dead His student, left him His loved one, gone forever For his brother, he grew hatred against him His home, burned to ashes His friends, murdered by himself His beliefs, used against him His soul, corrupted by anger and fear His hopes and dreams, destroyed forever From this young boy, who had dreams to become a jedi, to free slaves and bring freedom across the galaxy. Who`s destiny was to be the strongest and the most powerful jedi ever, so he could bring peace to the galaxy and balance to the force. He was a happy man with a wife, and was about to become a father. But his beliefs forbiddet him. And nightmares about losing his loved one, made him to make a deal with a demon. Because of his fears, fears that drove him into despair, he lost everything he ever loved and dreamed of. And his own anger, took his beloved one from him. And his hate towards his brother, who always loved him, was his downfall. And he was left behind burned and destroyed. Only leaving behind a shell of a man, who's soul was filled with pain, fear, hate and suffering. But the demon that he made the deal with, was the only one left, whom he would return to. But he was no longer the same man he used to be. He became cold, dark, unforgiving, ruthless and feared across the stars and one of the most feared man in the galaxy. The right hand, the puppet of the emperor. A slave of the dark side. And punishing himself with anger and hatred towards himself. But... when he heard about his son. He felt something. Something that he forgot many years ago. He felt... hope. And love for his son, through a great sacrifice, he defeated his nightmares and demons. And brought balance back to the force, like he was meant to do. For his entire life, he was a slave. Slave to the Hutts, slave to the Jedi's code and slave to the dark side. But in the end, when looking his son, with his own eyes, he was no longer a slave. He was free. He was called with many names. Son, student, husband, master, friend, brother, father. He was, Anakin Skywalker. The chosen one. Welcome back Hayden, our chosen one.
His character arc really is one of the greatest ever, we watched his entire life from being a boy on a desert planet to a powerful sith lord on the Deathstar, we watched his mother die, his mentor, the love of his life, we even saw Anakin die and be reborn as Vader, we watched him save lives and we watched him murder mercilessly, we saw him bow to the Emperor and we watched him kill the Emperor. We grew up with Anakin and we felt sadness when he lost Padme and happiness when he finally became free and redeemed himself to his son. He's unique in that he is the greatest hero and the greatest villain at the same time and that is extremely hard to pull off successfully

The king Ankylosuarus I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you.
Well before disney had ideas
"Is she alright?"
"It seems in your anger you killed her."
"I- I couldn't have."
This part just carries so much emotion that it brings me to my knees
Yeah palpatine meant he took her will to live, but he thinks he literally killed her, that is heartbreaking to dwell on
This really makes you appreciate Hayden's performance in the prequels.
The Super Clone he's talking about how people hate Christensen's performance, when he did a real good job, personally I loved it too

@@likeaboss1059 I dont think so, Anakin always had visions of the future

Woah guys this is so deep
Story of Anakin Skywalker is truly a Shakespearean tragedy. But at the end, he redeemed himself. What I take away from his story is a father's love for his son will always triumph.
It's just beautiful that he was redeemed by his son. For just a moment, he had what he always wanted. A family.

The Jedi Order left him (didn't trust him)
His wife and true love left him (died in childbirth)
But the last words of his son (who believed in him and brought him back to the Light side):
"I won't leave you."
Ahsoka also says that in Star Wars: Rebels after she learns who he is. "I won't leave you. Not this time."
They both leave that battle wounded physically and much more, mentally.
@@Volsxer Agreed

and because he feels he failed, he became Vader because he was so afraid to fail again.
Beautiful 👏
Nice to see a fellow Christian articulate their love for the franchise😅😅(before you know who took over that is)

His soul, corrupted by anger and fear
His hopes and dreams, destroyed forever
From this young boy, who had dreams to become a jedi, to free slaves and bring freedom across the galaxy.
For years, his only purpose was only to bring chaos, fear, suffering and death.
For he had nothing. No love, no hope and no reason to live. Only serving his master.
I must confess that I shed a tear whilst reading this
Beautiful dude well put together
Damn bringing tears to my eyes
Didnt he brought the death of his own wife?
Although is important mentioning that if he didn't destroy his belief in the jedi, he would not be able to kill Palpatine.
This is the best video on UA-cam. Always come back to it. Wow.
I want to cried
Just need to see him hunt down some jedi in a stand alone film ..maybe visit padme's grave
Honestly, the greatest thing is that he truly was the chosen one, who would bring balance to the force. For it was Anakin who killed the Emperor and therefor ended the Sith. At least until some edgy kid decided to become Vader 2
If only lucas had gotten his and padme's romance dialogue right, I think alot more people would like him.
@@AlexanderLingg he brought balance to the force there were two sith and many jedi that's unbalanced he destroyed the jedi order leaving only two now the light and the dark are balanced the force is balanced. The prophecy never said he would eliminate the sith or help the jedi, the jedi just assumed the prophecy was good for them.
It hurts after Star Wars the Clone Wars s7..
so much
So true 😭 the beauty of this galaxy to me is how much depth new material can add to everything that has come before it. Clone Wars S7 has added SO much depth to the prequels. Ahsoka and Anakin’s relationship makes RotS and Anakin’s overall arc so much more heartbreaking
Ngl I teared up when Ahsoka started talking about him.
Müslischreck X where do I watch clone wars?

In my opinion Hayden played anakin perfectly
I think so too. May the force be with you, Chosen One.
He played it perfectly, the scripts just were awkward here any there

Actually there is a hint that Sidious is still alive. If you watch the trailer of the new movie you can hear in the end Palpatine laughing.
Anakin and Vader are the same person though
God I love rewatching this video. Anakins story will always break my heart. It's so sad 😢
When watching this you realise that Hayden Christensen portrayed Anakin very well
magneto90x agreed - i never had a problem with Hayden - he had a difficult job portraying Anakin and the transition to Vader
Im probably the only nerd who likes the prequels
AnEpicAutumn Gaming Well let me tell you about a place called
r/prequelmemes
Hayden done a brilliant job as Anakin, it's was just the awful dialouge and direction that he was given that let him down. However if you take away the dialogue and just watch Hayden portray Anakin's emotions especially in ROTS he knocks it out of the park and you believe the emotion coming from him his acting is brilliant in regards to that. Again I've always said that Hayden deserves a second chance at redemption as with the right dialouge and direction I believe we could get the Anakin that fans have always wanted but regardless I'm fan of his portray none the less.
That acward moment
This is an incredible Anakin tribute! Wow! And it's all canon! An awesome video for an awesome character.
hayden christenson's acting doesnt seem bad in this video. impressive, most impressive
Scynial No they definitely are.
Scynial all of the movies (hence why the latest release is still called episode VII) and animated content produced since the prequels (Clone Wars and Rebels) is considered canon. All published literature produced that was not licensed by Disney is no longer considered Canon and is now called Star Wars Legends.
Ralph Cahill which fucking sucks
Rubber Pencil Studios welp...he have himself the death sentence for saying Hayden was good...I agree though
He was the best starpilot in the galaxy, a cunning warrior and he was a good friend.
And easily manupulated....
@@infinitehwd2103 He was desperate and naive. Anyone as young as him would have done the same in his circumstances. Cant blame him. The last straw was when he realised there was no difference between the jedi and sith when mace windu was going to kill palpatine and anakin said "it was not the jedi way" and mindu says that he was to dangerous to keep alive. A reflection of what happened to count dooku.

He truly did bring balance to the force by bring down the Jedi for they themselves have become one part of the problem and then ending the sith line. He truly brought balance but at the cost of himself. How terrible destiny can be

“Only through me can you achieve a power greater than any Jedi”
[Presents Bariss’ defeat to Anakin]
I always loved how this scene summed up how superior Anakin really was to the rest of the Jedi
Imagine how ground breaking of a protagonist Anakin would have been if the prequels came out FIRST and viewers had no idea what was going to happen to him or what his arch would be, unaware that he would ever even turn evil at all
This is the reason I tell people watch in chronological order. The story of star wars is about anakin and the heartbreak of his fall is more shocking to me than I am your father
@@dava1176 this is how I experienced the films. It’s probably why he’s easily my favourite character and I prefer the prequels
@@Beamboy555 yep, same, I was soooooooooooo shocked when Palpi said he'll be Darth Vader now... He was my hero! This is one of the many reasons why I just love e3 or the prequels at all
I watched it in the chronological order and did not know he would be Darth Vader. The third movie hit me like a dump truck. I literally couldn´t stop crying
I watched it chronologically like in 2016, it was so epic😭😭
Darth Vader: I have become the most powerful Jedi. Destroying all opposition. I got to see the stars and travel planets as I foretold.
Qui-Gon: At what cost?
Darth Vader: .......Everything
True
But in the end he gained something new. Redemption in the force, and the love of his son. Now whether that was worth the suffering or not is for Vader to decide
He lost the love of his life and the essence of who he was, I wonder if Vader thought his redemption in the end made up for it.
When yoda said anakin is in great pain. The pain never ended until he died. 😥
You left out the main reason Anakin turned to the dark side.....
....his wife.
All he ever wanted was to save the ones he loved;
He wanted to save his mother, but he was too late
He wanted to save his wife, but gave in to anger
But when he got the chance to save his son, he took it
ToxicSkull0 stop you’re making my eyes sweat
Well hold on now. Let’s not gloss over the fact homie let his son fall a couple hundred feet into a trash bin and tried to kill him for Palps lol 3rd times the charm I guess
I was gonna say you copied this but then I realized I have seen this before, too many times to count
Sadly it cost him his life
This legit makes me cry everytime... i kinda see myself in anakin.. not being a awesome warrior but being borderline and the constant emotional confliction that comes with it
We all have our demons and our angels so yes he’s a very relatable character for many people
“You already have, Luke. You were right. You were right about me. Tell your sister... you were right...”

He couldnt save his mom or Padme, but he saved his son by destroying the emperor and bringing back balance to the force. He is indeed the chosen one
I love how the Jedi were the ones who pushed him to the dark side. Besides Obi-Wan he was just disrespected the entire time. The disrespect coupled with his hard past and fear of losing Padme left him with seemingly no other options.
