Remove the great word and replace it with arrogant. Yes he is not stupd but Mannerheim was a great leader and he is not even close to the word great. Ahtisaari wasn't great either but he had a kind hearth and problems walking... My point is that stop using words that don't fit a person or then go figure out who he really is. He is pretty intelligent, he has some good points but also lacks the ability to see outside "his own world"(usually it takes em a few years to learn this like took Sauli Niinistö also a few years to rid himself of that Kokoomus thinking"wannabe America"). Calling him great is is like calling 200kg person slim...
Bots are always interesting in comments ;D Just to comment something. I think post cold war peace while attributed interdependence and trade. Was probably actually because west, and most importantly US was such and dominant power in both economics and military. I think after cold war, west has been either complacent of wasting resources, I would include political capital in this. Complacency is mostly at Europe, and wasting of resources for US. For example those long extremely costly middle eastern wars, these were very costly in terms of political capital, aka. soft power and just reputation around world. There was also the opportunity cost to it, US could have spent that time and resources better. As for Europe, I think we were just too complacent, we didn't really think about Russia, nor did we participate in influencing world, like China, Russia and US did. Not saying at all we should have used force, but we should have been more aggressive pushing foreign relations. Also both US and Europe were just totally blind to China. When looking at it now, what we did was quite absurd. China has always been really hostile to outside companies and had all hallmarks of authoritarian state. I mean they annexed Tibet long time ago, have been pushing borders, and has banned companies left and right, especially any kind of media/internet companies. They have just done it better than most. But still we poured all that money and effort there instead of spreading it out and gaining more economic and political ties, possibly even good allies. Not to mention it's just smart to diversify. And it would also actually make world probably overall better rather than concentrate that to just few countries. Ultimately, we believed we could fix these countries by doing trade, but somehow we didn't see all the evidence that pointed contrary. Though I would say most likely reason is just that it was lucrative despite all these issues. As for military matters, again, we have to be more aggressive. Appeasement doesn't work, if some autocratic leader wants to expand, unlike democratic governments, they are highly insulated from public opinion. So they can more easily just push their way up to point of major domestic uprising. So from our point of view, using actual force or realistic force posturing is only way to affect them. If we don't hold back Russia, they will just push as far as they can. And same is with China, somehow China only became bit more restrained after US started forming coalition and shoring up defenses in East and South China sea. What we need to realize that autocratic countries are not Democratic, and they don't behave same way. And we also need to realize weaknesses of democratic system, which is also it's strength, aka. people having voice and power. Russia especially is very proficient and prolific in swaying public. And I do hope people realize that Russia has been on wide scale sabotage campaign as of late, somehow strategic ammunition factories and stuff like that seem to be catching fires recently. And Russian operatives are being caught and observed all around. We have to act.
I like Stubb. Voted for him. But now I have a beef with him. If Trump gets elected he wont leave Nato? OMG! That is wrong. Trump said Russia can do what they want. If Trump wins, there wont be any adults in the room anymore.
Of course we are preparing, look at Ukraine. Stupid comment "don't prepare, don't protect yourself". Russian integration was attempted since the end of the Soviet Union, without success. Russia drifted into a dictatorship. So here we are now. 49:14
@@lukeamongthemmongols6258 The prime minister is the head of government and a president is the head of state. How can you judge the president if he was not part of the decisions? The president has only some governmental power but the president is not part of the government and was not making decisions. The President of the Republic has a fairly independent status with respect to Parliament. Secondly, what the Marin's government did? Crushed the economy. Do you think that works forever?
Agree with you in respect to our prior PM Sanna Marin. But to cut Child support when jobs are extremely difficult to find and businesses are going down? Why? So zelensky can buy another mansion? To spend in weapons while they could have used diplomacy? That's the problem I have with the previous and present government. I don't really care who actually makes the decision there, probably the decision is being made for them anyways.
A great and insightful leader.

Alexander Stubb is a BIG SCORE for FINLAND! 🛷

WTF are you rambling on about... AI generated text that just states thing without meaning?!?
Finland’s roll should be to assist the integration of Russia into the European family, not protect itself against an old enemy.

Thanks for cutting Child support Stubb and crew. Nowadays we live with 200euro a month here in Finland. Not good .👎

Thanks to the green-left governments of previous years, which divided our tax money into rubbish.
