Вставка

- This golf swing transition move is genius. It will smooth out your transition from the backswing to the downswing while adding power. The best part is, it’s easy to do!
In this golf lesson, PGA golf pro Kerrod Gray and Marno Vorster demonstrate how to transition in the golf swing like the pros for more consistent golf shots.
Unfortunately, the transition is something that I see most amateur golfers struggle with. That’s why everyone needs to know this move.

IMO, This is the ideas that the Mike Malaska talked about. Especially the initial short drop of the hands and relaxed right shoulder. Thi s is a very good explanation of what I’d forgotten. Thank you both so much.
Exactly! Relaxing the right shoulder is difficult to master, but Mike makes it look easy. Happy to help 👍
This was excellent, not enough videos go in depth on the importance of this step in the swing. Well done gents!
Have you watched Dan Martin's stuff? Goes into the physics of this with a little zen sprinkled in.
Thanks for the comment 🙏 I really appreciate it! Marno is a great communicator so it was great to collaborate with him on a difficult to understand topic.
Hi Kerrod, great videos great content as always. My sincere question: Wouldn't drop the arms automatically when I shift weight and then turn? (or not really?) Thanks.
Excellent demonstration gentlemen on letting the arms "free fall" on the downswing! I have experimented with this method and was surprised how easy it was to get through the ball. When making this move however, I had to remember that at the same time the arms are falling, the right shoulder needed to come down with the right arm scraping against the right side of the body and not out away from the body. I learned a lot from viewing this video! Well Done!!
Thanks mate! I appreciate your comment. Glad you were able to put it to practice straight away.
My problem has not been over the top. When I deliberately let my arms down, it creates amazing flush shots but sometimes I also hit behind the ball. So, I feel I cannot trust this with dropping arms, but I wish I could use it. Any comments Thanks.
Great tip Kerrod I’m topping my fairways and getting comments ‘your hitting too hard’ but now tilting more and trail shoulder down. Your comment and not swinging your lead shoulder towards the target a great feel so thank you.
Thanks for the comment and let me know how you get on. Sometimes all you need is a small change and you start seeing all the other manipulations come together.
I think I finally understood this, it’s not just a drop of the arms but a feeling of the arms unfolding away from the body as they drop. My tendency is to hold my arm angles too long even while I restrict shoulder movement and drop the arms. I’ll spend the rest if my winter muscle memorizing this……Ty!
That's exactly right! The "drop" is a way to initite the downswing in a sequencial way. Just like you said - unfolding. Thanks for the comment!
Love this explanation ❤
Thanks Ryan! I appreciate it 👍
Awesome video Kerrod 🤙
Cheers Matt 🙌
When i played OKish, i was a 6. I always felt that my arms would drop. Thanks i have never heard anyone speak of this. I had my hip replaced and have never got the feeling back of my arms dropping. This will help, cheers
I appreciate your comment! Glad you found it helpful and can get the dropping feeling back. Hopefully the new hip gives you a couple of extra yards 🙌
Love Ur channel basically I model my swing Exactly like this. I wish you could have incorporated this swing and how it works or matches ur 130 mph video .. good stuff keep it up !
There are some key difference which could make for an interesting video! Thanks for the suggestion and I'm glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Amazing I tried this drill just today before I saw your video and it worked very well.
Great to hear! We're you topping the ball before?
@@kerrodgraygolf No just not hitting it flush. I practice at my tennis club hitting balls before I play tennis. I said let my try dropping my hands and it worked very well.
That's really cool that you are able to modify these drills using a tennis racket! Good stuff 👍
On the subject getting the hands and arms to drop downward from the top of the backswing what do you think of the concepts of keeping the rear hip back (turned over /behind the rear heel as it is at the end of the backswing) while either feeling like both elbows lower straight down at the same time or rate, or feeling like the hands get thrown under the shoulders to impact position?
Both feels can work but for a question like this I recommend getting a personalised lesson to diagnose specifically what you need
You still need to pull the arms down fast in order to achieve speed. The hip and legs help to further propel the ball forward.
The arms are starting the sequence followed by the hips and legs in this demonstration.
I think the challenge for the everyday golfer is the idea to get open at impact hence spinning plus the fear letting club drop will result in hitting fat shots.
Probably good followup videos on the open idea and not hitting fat shots
Spot on! Thanks for the idea 👍
Just to clarify , so would not start the down swing with the lower body , but let your arms drop into the slot first ?
You should start the downswing with the lower body, but allow your arms to drop before swinging.
What First Move When Down Swing Sir
Great vid! I wonder how does this move reconcile with "leading with the hips" in the downswing? I fwel like it throws me off sequence when i try to drop my arms. Thanks!
Honestly, it's a combination of both techniques, with the hips initiating the downswing while the arms drop naturally into the slot. It will take some experimenting to find a balance/ what works best for your swing.
@@kerrodgraygolf thanks a lot for the answer, I will try that out, love your channel!
I have similar problem. With dropping arms creates amazing flush shots wıth beautiful high trajectory but sometimes I hit really bad behind the ball. It is possible sequence issue. Not sure when you start with dropping. Maybe at the same time when downswing starts?
Would you recommended this for someone that already comes massively inside-out? I fully get the concept but it sounded more catered to the OTT guys.
If you are massively inside out you probably are doing something similar to this already. Wouldn't hurt giving it a try, but it's hard to know if it would help you without seeing your swing.
Does this apply to driver as well?
No it doesn't
It's not a drop it's a throw on a 45 angle and just leave 30% in your pocket !!!!! You can chop wood all day long ❤
It’s a drop. Throwing the club promotes a flip and requires more compensation to square the face.
@@dollar_cost_average no good player throws n flips anything get the 45 line
@@DunnGolfing That’s bc good players drop it into the slot, then release the club.
@dollar_cost_average if you can that in under 0.25sec then your 1 in 1000 use the Vardon triangle and throw it on the 45.

Why don’t you define what the chest of the engine is. Is it the upper torso only ? So the lower back doesn’t rotate ?
So many enigmas ? Define it, show exactly what you mean. I’ve gone through every video, all your website content. It just doesn’t explain it.
No one even explains the lead should either.
Yes, upper torso is the chest. "Chest is the engine", is a metaphor for the chest being the power house of the swing that drives the power. Your whole back should rotate, but the chest should lead the rotation.
