I think the whole idea behind the barn door is the look of a barn door.. if u didnt like that effect maybe a pocket door would of been better fit ..but hey its not my house and it may have been a way too much under taking to fit a pocket door in a already finished wall. I have that issue at my house .trying to figure out what to do about it ..rt now i went with beads but they are quite trouble some all grabby grabby hangin on u as u pass through doin something different this time around..cool look though

I built my own barn door for the entrance to the pantry me made after remodeling our kitchen and I contemplated doing hidden hardware but the wife nixed the idea, she said the hardware made the barn door. It also happened to be cheaper since I made all the hardware myself in my forge. She actually had me make sure nails because she wanted the square nails exposed to give it the old fashioned look. After she decorated with a farm theme, I must agree, she was right. It also helps that it is for and actual farm house

Barn doors are terrific doors for single people, Married, no children, singles, etc . . Because they do not block noises Nor do they provide very good privacy For those on either side of said door.

It looks very clean! For me personally it’s not the hardware that turns me off from barn doors, it’s the “rustic” wood. I think your door looks fantastic, but I think it would look equally beautiful with visibly hardware because the wood is so nice
I'll always loved traditional barn doors. I feel love the look hidden hardware makes it very unique. There seems to be an endless opportunity of how to incorporate your style into the decor of the room with it. It's almost like a secret door
nope, hang from the top with at least reasonable clearance on the bottom. Any debris will block the movement of the rollers, or worse derail it. Our front door on our barn house is 10 feet high and 11 feet wide, and my elderly wife has no problem opening it. hide the hardware with trim if it bothers you.
I love the thought process behind it. But it looks very simple (even though it’s not) when looking at it. I think I like the way regular barn doors look.
I see the "hardware" used to assemble this and immediately have reoccurring waking nightmares of getting a bag of wooden pegs from Ikea. Thanks for that
As others have said, my issue isn't with the hardware, usually with an ugly door. The soft close is a nice touch, too. I'd have to see the floating door more to have an opinion, but it does stand out.

Exact same thought. I love this look, but would really like to see this in 2 years. That is some minimal hardware for such a stout door.
Before it wears out someone is gonna pull the door off of those tiny rollers on top and they will be flattened.
Now you just need to install a hidden locking spring so you can make it feel like a wall.
Just installed one of these door kits last month. I agree it was a pain the mill the door to spec, but once installed it worked perfectly.
