@thefantacyencephalon Simultaneously, it is seen as "arrogant" to compliment ourselves. So we grow up as a shell of ourselves and have existential crises in search of that person we lost usually within our quarter century and half century years.

To the guy who was so creative and then said he was a killer: whether you signed up to be in the military or not, you were placed there for a reason, you survived for a reason. You did as you were assigned, you served your country. I'm sure it's extremely painful, I have worked with healing and grief with military men and police officers who have PTSD. Strive for peace of the Soul, through meditation and self affirmation. You are more than that experience. God Bless.
I empathize with him as a person cause he feels guilty or not seen ….. but the killing the us is doing in other countries is not self defence it’s to exploit other countries so us citizens can live a lavish lifestyle, if you are an American you should wake up and not allow this, this man is sad because his country made him do things that never should’ve happen in the first place.

27, I am a drifter, a loner, a tinkerer, an achiever, a striver for more, a workaholic, a father figure with no kids but siblings that look up to me. a geek, a mechanic, just another guy out here that passes you by, with you having no regard to what he's up to. I mind my own but have a heart of gold and want to see others happy. because we are born into this world to support each other. I enjoy seeing people and standing off to the side no interaction but watching them grow "social media", life endeavors, etc. I have many friends from highschool I never talk to but friends with on facebook. seeing them getting married, watching them have children. This world is a beautiful thing we all take for granted. We all grow with time, Its amazing what people can accomplish.
meta ways of answering this question that i tried to notice - identity labels, relating to social roles and metaphors - unsure (scared) - unsure (positive) - hobbies, feelings, important events from past - too complicated to say to stranger - names (~*11) - current societal role - jobs - social roles - mom and dads child (idk meta, maybe social role) - race, gender, nationality - positive adjectives - demographic identity labels, something more? - group - personality trait + goal striving for - me - positive + demographic + striving for + coping strategy / thing people notice about her ----- - another human person - same - idk - on the way back to those things
This is the ultimate question! Trying to understand this question with honesty, has guided me beautifully through life, I am very grateful for being alive.
I am a little bit of every single moment my life has provided me in 55 years. I am the perception that exists within my own mind from each of those moments whether remembered or not they became a part of who I am today. Struggling as I am with self doubt I can still say I would not change any of those moments because I feel I am a good person with a loving heart, empathetic compassion for all around me and capable far beyond what I give myself credit for. I am me, that has been and currently is a living recording of all that transpires in my life's presence including the moment of watching this video and thinking of this answer for the question, this moment will be a part of who I become as new moments present themselves and my life goes on.
might cry in school Edit: Im about to graduate high school in a couple weeks. Finding out who i am has been a struggle my whole life because I can’t make friends or keep them. I never knew what i was good for. But now that I’m graduating I’m finding who I am and I know that I am okay and better off without friends.
I’m 25 and making that discovery now, I always felt like everyone was superior to me and I was level 0 on “friendship”… Now that I’m older I’m realizing that nobody knows who they are or how to have friends, and everyone is some type of toxic or insecure. Learning who you are to yourself, when you’re alone, is the first step. Everyone is just as confused as you are ❤
I relate to that. I didn't have friends for a long time, but through that experience I learned who I was. I developed a lot of self confidence and knew that, even if no one Else liked me, I liked myself. Now I easily get along with many different people. They call me their friend and I help them to grow and thrive. It's alright if we're in each other's lives for a brief moment, as long as I can show them that good people still exist and that they can be loved, that's all that truly matters. The way I've always thought of myself is that I dance to the beat of my own drum.
None of us are or stay the same person we used to be 20 years ago. Panta rei, everything flows and so does our character. Different people, different experiences, different times they all influence who we are and what we potentially can turn into. 20 years ago I was a naive, self centered, blue eyed know it all. Today, I am compassionate, loving, all embracing, non materialistic, human adult female.
wow the first guy. that message was profound and on time in wild ways. humans are vast contradictions. never underestimate the power your wisdom holds as an individual, even as a random stranger.
I really enjoy your content. Great question. What I noticed at first while watching people think about the answer is, ‘People are really beautiful when their mind is open and curious’. Thanks for exposing people and their inner beauty.
Your videos are so wonderful! They give people hope and make them feel like they are unique. It makes them feel at ease with who they are because they see other people in the same situation or mental state. There are no wrong answers to your questions, making people feel that their feelings are so valid. It also helps them think about things and about themselves in a way they never did before. I personally watch your videos when I don't feel like I am worthy or I am just down and they make me feel so understood and so much better about myself. Thank you!
I find any answer to "Who are you?" fascinating if/when it is answered athoughtfully/uthentically. I have read biographies and autobiographies my whole life (I am 65) in order to get insights into who I might become. That suggests I knew on some level that I was not all that I could be. I am so thankful for the kind of work you do and for all the wonderful souls who thoughtfully answered your question, on camera. I found the responses satisfying and gratifying -- it feels good to witness another being expressing who they are or where they are in their understanding of that, when you can feel the authenticity of it in its complexity.
Thoraya, you NEVER FAIL to remind me of how much I love every single human being! Like girl! The streams of tears i cried while watching your videos? Them rivers! 😂✌️ And all because you remind me of that love! I couldn't thank you enough! I love you and your work so much! Thank you!! ❤❤❤
This video really moved me in a way so different from your other vids. And also I would love to hang out with the black woman from Brooklyn. She seems to be so open hearted *_*
Who I am is a constant evolution. Who I am now is literally different from who I was 1 minute ago because I live through my experiences and my goal is to make the best out of it and sometimes you get a boost by a stranger asking you this very question.
This is the best question yet! I think another great question would be (and if you who's reading has watched or follows "The Minimalist" on UA-cam, then you'll know) "What do you do?" See how most people will instinctively answer with job titles and what they do for work. But tje real question is... What do YOU DO?
Thoraya, your videos are truly amazing and always so touching. It feels so good to know you’re not the only one out here going through things in life. Your videos are emotional but yet bring so much joy. I look forward to seeing these! Keep up the amazing work you do! ❤
I think it’s interesting that the the first man and the woman with the umbrella, both a little older than most of the other, pointed to the complexity of “who am I?”. Maybe with age comes maybe a little more acceptance of being a person that is not an equation, that there are contradictions that doesn’t have to solved but lived with with as apart of being a person.
I'm an introvert, a poet, a dreamer, a loyal friend, a sister, a teacher, a painter, a dancer, good company, a psychologist, a compassionate soul and lover of Jesus, in a very sad and lonely world. ❤
This as been on my mind lately as what Ive worked toward for my entire life, and finally have mostly accomplished is a door that is now closing. If I am not that person, doing, working toward, and dreaming of just that.... then I have no idea who I am, and my world, and my experience in the world has become very dark without that answer. I don't know that I want an existence without what I love so much being a part of it, but am trying to figure out how to go on without it anyway.
First, THANK YOU SO MUCH THORAYA❤I really love what you do, all the videos, BUT definitely this one in particular because the fact that its so relatable in so many ways but specifically with this question cause sometimes when were “young” or “younger” 20/30s..me 34…i feel so alone lately in this thought of who am I next to people(same age frame and even younger) who seem like they know themselves or are on a path of so much assurance of where they are in their lives that i get very down about it, sometimes dark kind of down. Then to see this and see beautiful people of all ages and walks in the SAME mindset or moment of being unsure..just so amazing to know we ARE not all alone. We are ALL feeling some kind of insecurity (or security in the unsure) in one way or another. Some kind of heaviness. Its a reminder for all BE KIND TO YOURSELF..we are all here figuring it out and the abyss of life is an unknown to all..but you WILL get through it and you will understand just a tiny bit more of yourself and you will be even better for it. Through the good and the bad. You are loved, whoever relates to this.
What I like most about this channel is that, for a moment, we have the opportunity to meet a stranger. There is something that happens to us when a camera is present and it is remarkable to see
Thoraya several years ago you asked this question on another video. I was fascinated because so few people know who they really are. I wish I could answer that question on camera. I am so grateful to know who I am. It is very secure and comforting to know the answer.
Crzy to me how even the elders still dont know how to answer the question who are u.. it says alot to our youth, me included.. it takes away the pressure of finding out who we are.. and i feel deeply everyday should be a learning experience. are we not different people everyday ? with different characters according to the different friends we have? are we not just souls in differently pigmented skins? really a beautiful question to ask

My personal opinion, the ones who had an answer truly don’t know who they are and the people who honestly said they had no idea are the ones closer to knowing.
I wish I could do what you do, I have loved your channel for so long. Thanks for everything you do
Try doing it in your neighborhood your community ❤ people love opening about themselves and sharing perspectives. I am sure they would appreciate someone listening to their story ❤
God Bless.
Thank you, this resonates…
I empathize with him as a person cause he feels guilty or not seen ….. but the killing the us is doing in other countries is not self defence it’s to exploit other countries so us citizens can live a lavish lifestyle, if you are an American you should wake up and not allow this, this man is sad because his country made him do things that never should’ve happen in the first place.

@@Just-99me Well we are awake, at least half of us are. US is a very large country, it's only 1% that live "lavishly". The rest of us are working to just make ends meet.
@@humaneleaguelancPA yeah I know but still us citizens living better than the third world countries that the us is creating wars in.
Like my mom Grace used to say, " To the one asking, I am whoever u ran into today" Depending on how u make them feel, by that will u be defined. No matter wat u say,we project en get triggered on first encounters. But if I ask myself the question, I can comfortably answer, I'm just a happy good human to my boys, husband and colleagues. 😊
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video from Thoraya and not shed a tear; it has become a thing now when i need a “cleansing session” as i call it, i come here and just let myself loose; receptive to any and every feeling possible.
Thank you love ♥️you’re an angel among us.
I am an old soul in a human body, living another life on this earth
I wish I could hug the guy who said he feels like Harry Potter 🎉❤
Love the first guy. Knows the truth about himself.
I knew that was gonna be the question. It is typically the hardest for us to answer.
I am a sovereign light being-here to experience this life and find joy and beauty on this planet………..Thank you so much for your presence Thoraya! You are a blessing!
A soul in a temporary vessel, made from divine light ❤ here to spread love and smile's ❤
Good for all of you in this video and watching. I feel so grateful to witness everyone spending a little time honoring themselves
As someone who had a mental health breakdown, lost a career, family, home, and a complete loss of identity "I've never felt more myself being no one" 100% encapsulates who I am now.
It's actually an easy answer: You ARE what you DO! You can THINK you're any number of things or non-things, you can CLAIM to be whatever you wish you are, but in the end, you are what you do.
The face expressions at the beginning of the video are fascinating
This is the best place on the internet! To see into other peoples eyes, here their stories and to find peace in the connection we all share as humans. This question "Who are you?" could be the ONLY question being asked and it would never be boring to listen to the answers from people all over the world. Empathy could heal us all! Thoraya, keep finding and sharing those meaningful stories. Sending you much love and to all that are touched by your amazing work here!

This is the ultimate question! Trying to understand this question with honesty, has guided me beautifully through life, I am very grateful for being alive.
I'm the accumulation of the actions and situations I have been going through my whole life, just over 20 years and most of it I can't even remember
Loved seeing and hearing a fellow South African 🇿🇦
I'm a whole universe incarnate, we all are.
We just tend to forget it, and we forget our many potentials and talents.
Let's love ourselves more guys!!
I am me, that has been and currently is a living recording of all that transpires in my life's presence including the moment of watching this video and thinking of this answer for the question, this moment will be a part of who I become as new moments present themselves and my life goes on.
might cry in school
Edit: Im about to graduate high school in a couple weeks. Finding out who i am has been a struggle my whole life because I can’t make friends or keep them. I never knew what i was good for. But now that I’m graduating I’m finding who I am and I know that I am okay and better off without friends.
I’m 25 and making that discovery now, I always felt like everyone was superior to me and I was level 0 on “friendship”…
Now that I’m older I’m realizing that nobody knows who they are or how to have friends, and everyone is some type of toxic or insecure.
Naw you'll find your people, just gotta look online first, that's the better way to find people that share your interests and views
None of us are or stay the same person we used to be 20 years ago. Panta rei, everything flows and so does our character. Different people, different experiences, different times they all influence who we are and what we potentially can turn into. 20 years ago I was a naive, self centered, blue eyed know it all. Today, I am compassionate, loving, all embracing, non materialistic, human adult female.
you create the most amazing content. I love people
@Thoraya Thank you for what you do for this world! I really appreciate you & love who you are & I truly love what you do.
“An enigma, even to myself” yes, I’ve known myself for a lifetime and this is still true.
wow the first guy. that message was profound and on time in wild ways. humans are vast contradictions. never underestimate the power your wisdom holds as an individual, even as a random stranger.
Makes me think of The Who's song "Who Are You"... An important question we all must ask ourselves from time to time. 💛
We are constantly learning who we are. Beautiful video. ❤️
I was not expecting the first guy’s response at all. I’d❤to have a conversation w/him. “The boy who lived”💔😭.
If you were no longer identifying as the things you currently are or doing the things that you do, you are simply in another phase of your life.
Out of all the episodes I’ve watched this has been the most enjoyable.
Im papa! I am the universe experiencing itself.
I am my mistakes, my acheivement, my joys, my pains, my memories. I am ever changing.
I am truth, compassion and hope
past, present and future

A light in a human vessel here to share love from the divine ❤
The question of all questions, Great answers. Well Done!!!!
You have the most brilliant show on you tube. So deep and meaningful, love it, thank you.
this is SO POWERFUL! 🙏
Thoraya, you NEVER FAIL to remind me of how much I love every single human being! Like girl! The streams of tears i cried while watching your videos? Them rivers! 😂✌️ And all because you remind me of that love! I couldn't thank you enough! I love you and your work so much! Thank you!! ❤❤❤
Much love to the woman in the red cap. I’m going through the same thing as we speak.
This video really moved me in a way so different from your other vids. And also I would love to hang out with the black woman from Brooklyn. She seems to be so open hearted *_*
thank you love !
Oh. Is it really you or are you just claiming to be that person?
I am a mosaic of all the people I’ve met, the places I’ve gone, and the things that I’ve done.
I am a child of God. Out of His grace and love i have my life. Thank You!
At 3:14. Reminds me of that bright eyes song when he says "I'm happy just because, I found out I am really noone."
❤
Am a soul on a journey called life.
Thoraya, your videos are truly amazing and always so touching. It feels so good to know you’re not the only one out here going through things in life. Your videos are emotional but yet bring so much joy. I look forward to seeing these! Keep up the amazing work you do! ❤
To the lady in the red ball cap, I completely understand. You are on your way. Please don't put so much pressure on yourself ❤
you sound like a lovely person
YES! I loved that question and all the reactions!
You meet the best people!! I wait for your posts. I love your channel!!
I am a struggling mother of two teenagers. Another soul searching for love and understanding.❤
Hugs from 🇷🇴 Romania 💝!
