And that plus some other suggestions was enough to keep me from getting worse. I know understand how easy it is to waste hard earned money, and I hope you can see the value of your life and the money you earn. Please DO NOT give your money to these machines, cards, scratchoffs or otherwise. The system is RIGGED aginst us!!! and you are WORTH far more than what the casinos have to offer.
gambling is a hard addiction.. because unlike other additions , you can always keep yourself going somehow by thinking "i only need to get really lucky just once !".. with alcohol addiction or p*rn addiction, i don't think anyone would think that "tomorrow i might reach my goal and i can stop".. with gambling, however remote and unlikely.. there is always a 0,0001 chance that tomorrow will be the "jackpot".. That makes it so much harder to quit, i think, also on a subconcious level.
I worked double shifts for a month over Xmas and got a great pay. I lost it in 2 hrs. It's a horrible situation. I did get over my gambling addiction, but I had to move countries.
Its AMAZING how much the average person whos not dealing with gambling addiction takes their gamble free lives for granted. Imagine losing sense of what money is. Its terrible
Keep vocalizing. This is the start to recovery. Do whatever it takes to keep acknowledging that this is in ur life. Gambling is one of the most devastating addictions, you’re up against a juggernaut but you can do it!
I really think you should look into some sort of treatment or in person support group. It sounds like your addiction is very strong. I'm sorry your going through that. You can beat it though! It's going to be hard, but you can do it! Stay strong!
Hi from Canada. I hope you can overcome this. I avoid a casino 25 mins from my home. Replacing the downtime with a good addiction may help. This may sound crazy but find a pickleball club. Take a few lessons and meet some nice people. It is easy to learn. You don’t need to be super fit, but it is addictive in a good way. Just a suggestion.
Good day to everyone AND this gentlemen of this video. I am sincerely cheering for you - because you are WORKING and doing something for your life and your situation.
I really hope your hopes come through, it's hard, VERY hard, I've been addicted for over 35 years 😢....I have 2 nowhere jobs working 64 plus hours a week just to pay for my gambling debts..... everything you have talked about, it's me, I've been there......for sure we can't do it ALONE, please please believe me.....our brains think different and we need another person to help.....and it certainly ain't easy.......stay safe and stay smart, the fight is far from over 💪💪
Sir, been there. Same exact boat. I fear for you. Two answers for you. 1. Surrender your finances to a trusted family member. Your finances goes to the person and he or she pays your bills. 2. Get out the environment. Relocate to an area with no casinos. You sound like me. You won't stay away even though you want to. You have to take action. Move to a place with no casino. Or surrender your finances to a family member.
Hi bud, can I make a suggestion? You’re doing this because you get a high.. much more to it, but that’s the basis. I highly recommend replacing gambling, with something else that is productive and provide some satisfaction. Try flipping stuff on whatnot.. it’s an ap. Go buy stuff at thrift stores from game cards to vintage t shirts.. bargain w ppl.. make friends.. then start an online store/presence and flip these items. It will be a somewhat healthy route to get you feeling good.. and it’s exciting. Second suggestion if you hate that one, would be to move to Alaska, where there are zero casinos and get a job on the pipeline. Good pay, no gambeling, but can get very depressing due to little sunlight, so I’d go for the 1st option. You need something to replace your addition, something productive. And , try Church. No joke at all, I was severely addicted to alcohol for 22 years and God took it away 100%. God Bless
Remember every time you walk in a gambling joint, you know where that road will lead to, a huge dopamine crash and feeling worthless. Stay strong and walk away, this may sound crazy but exercise can help a lot. Anyways so many great suggestions below here. We have many in our family who have pissed away everything, they are now old and poor due to gambling. You can still get out but need to act now.
First achievement is recognize that you have a problem, second achievement is to come up with a plan to solve the problem. Hats off to you, you are on the right path. I was just like you, I get relapses here and there but I manage to control myself. It requires a lot of mental toughness and self discipline, that is all it is. Keep going on the straight path and eventually you will get out of debt and get your life back. Life is beautiful if you dont give in to the urges and temptation.
"When you lose you lose, when you win you lose" Basically, winning fuel the gambling addiction. In most cases what ever little you win you take it back to lose it as well. Gambling is the worst of all addiction in my book. It should be made illegal
It takes a special kind of person to be addicted. Addiction will teach you that we are not the same. I know what you've gone through, we are in the same boat
i am an ex gambling addict. what helps me is keeping busy. i like to play golf so i do that. my main addiction is sports betting. so i dont even watch sports anymore
sorry to hear that you decided to not watch sports because of gambling... I would die if i didnt watch sports. Sports is life for me. I gamble but gamble responsibly. I gamble just enough to make the games even more exciting. If i lose, who cares. If i win, icing on the cake. I never bet more then i can afford or be the same happiness feeling if i lose. I look at gambling is no different then blowing money on a dinner and movie or night out etc. Its meant to be for FUN not as a way to make money.
Yea sports are rigged. The NFL is rigged. I stopped watching football in the 90s. Boxing rigged. Soccer rigged. Anything Vegas controls is fake and rigged
You have admitted you have a problem, and that's a massive step on the road to recovery. Give all of your cards and bank account details to your parents who will get you the money you need to get through the month. It is difficult to do it alone and the more people you tell about your problem hopefully the more people will help you recover. Find something else to do when you have free time or just work lots of overtime (if you can) and earn money instead of spending (wasting) money. You seem like a nice guy and hopefully you have good people around around you. Gambling is horrible, and losing can make you feel physically sick. The few highs are not worth the many lows. Very best wishes to you going forward.
In the movie, no country for old men, he wasn’t talking about gambling, but it sounded like it. He said you can’t get back what has already went out the window, but you can stop the bleeding and that’s what you gotta do.
You're not alone, there are plenty of people out there who know the struggle and have your back! Forgive yourself for past mistakes and focus on the future. Everything in life is a lesson.
Do Not Gamble!!! If you think eventually you will figure it out and always win, you won’t. Discipline is key. Replace the gambling with something else. Something that is positive. It’s the same thing as cigarettes. Hard to give it up. If you do, it’s gotta be cold turkey style and discipline. Good luck man
Hey dude. I totally feel for u. People don’t realize what a terrible addiction gambling is. It’s scary! Might be the worst addiction out there. And this is coming from an alcoholic. It’s no joke !
My wife worked in a very big casino for 12 years since she was 20. She quit and won’t step in one at all because she says it’s so sad what she saw with people like this amigo. I am sure the execs and tribal people absolutely LOVE addicted people showing in their doors.
I had a rough time gambling. I asked myself if the lows of losing were much stronger than the highs of winning and they were. That phrase has kept me from gambling.
Thank you for sharing your testimony. I was there too. 😢 😢😢😢. Gambling almost killed me. 😢😢😢😢I was having suicidal thoughts. My mental health was going down.
I am right there with you...moved to Vegas 21 years ago...but lost my husband in 2008... And started going to Casino everyday so as not to be lonely....yep lost half million in 16 years...and what do I have now... ZERO
Bro. Keep at it. Don’t worry about the end of the year. Every day you wake up, just remind yourself not to gamble that day! You got this. One day at a time! Even one hour at a time if necessary! There’s help out there
Gambling is the only addiction I don’t have. I understand the compulsion gamblers have but if I win or lose it’s all the same to me. Waste of time. I would go to meetings if I had that habit though.
Very honest video I wish you the best of luck. Gambling is so seductive because you believe that you just have to hit. Unfortunately the casino has other plans.
I support you, Brother. You can do it. Pray, commit to positive things in your life, help others. You are doing that now by humbling yourself and sharing your personal journey. YOU are the one with the power, not casinos. I have confidence in you. One step at a time. Remember these feelings you have now and commit to yourself that gambling will not control you.
Chop up and close credit cards, debit cards and get married(to a wife who works). You will never have money to waste. Two incomes take the pressure off and then spend your time with your wife(not in casinos).
Thank you for sharing your story. I've never had a gambling addiction but this is something that is more and more common with the rise of sports gambling. If I could ask a question. Do you believe California should legalize sports betting? What do you think the implications of that would be?
One big problem with gambling in this day and age is just the cost of living combined with the access to credit. Before you know it, you are in a massive hole and then that’s when the loan sharks get you. The 47% loans start stacking up along with with those $1500 payday loans that cost $225 for 14 days or less.
Gambling is part of life. Gambling properly gave him the motivation to make the money in the first place. Maybe without gambling, he don't have the motivation to make money. If you lose money gambling, you make more money from work. We all have addictions.
I used to be pretty heavy gambler too easily losing 1k every month... what helped me stop was I hit a huge grand jackpot a very large sum.... I saw the tax bill end of the year and it was 7k I was so mad so pissed I played and struggled for many years to finally hit that and the govt wanted 7K for doing nothing... that helped me stop after that lesson I rarely play now
Hey bro I was the same story!! I had to go to rehab to learn how to Catch it: the behavior Check it: think about why it's a bad idea Change it: make better decisions Good luck it worked great for me 2 years gamble free
I used to be a gambler, but I finally had enough. Start silver stacking. Every time you get paid buy a little silver. After a few months you will see a gorgeous pile of silver, after a year you will have a huge chest of silver.
I stopped gambling for over 27 years...your thinking to far ahead when you say your not going to gamble over the next year....at the start you go from min to min...which leads to hour to hour and day to day ....the key is ....NOT TO HAVE THE FIRST BET....
Stay strong. Take care of yourself. There’s more to life and as time goes on it will get better. Go to meetings. Get a sponsor. Call someone. You’re not alone.
I got the same problem. I make good money. I blew my Social Security check for the last 10 months. I went to Vegas and blew it and then I blow it when I come home I say to myself I’m way paid this bill and that bill this bill and I go on the casino play couple games and then I lose the rest in the machines, don’t feel bad because I am very depressed on top of that. I had to apply for a loan and it ended up being 51.9 interest the first five payments I went went towards the damn interest for $3000.
This video is sad. My friend , you seem like a great hard working honest man. Believe in yourself and treat yourself like one. The gambling is a dead end…. Move on …. Never again. Seek help and 9-5 might work to keep you occupied and fulfilled. Best… PS : Gig work feeds the same gambling mentality… the next trip…. The next tip…. Maybe this is the one ….
I have always said you want to be a winner every time is to not go, I gambled in past lost money win money though there came a point when I had to put the brakes on, I can tell people many horrible stories bout gamblers so stay away from gambling.
The root of addiction is a mental health condition. ADHD is a huge one. Addictions, depression and anxiety are common symptoms and the addiction is a coping mechanism to medicate the root issue.
Funny thing is that most problem gamblers think it’s about the money ( this guy admits that). The money is only a mechanism to fulfill the urge for action. I find escape from reality to be the biggest trigger for people who are addicted to gambling. Problem is losing only compounds the very problem they’re trying to escape from.
@ yes the actual addiction isn’t the real problem, it was an attempted solution to the real problem. The real problem is wanting to escape your life instead of live it.
I understand this completely. My problem is Iove the idea of making money and not really having much to look forward to in life as well asonly having to provide for myself combine and boom we're back in the casino. I wish you the best man.
I just lost $220 in just 2 hours at the casino but I don’t feel too unpleasant. My non-gambling wife was there and she was looking at the finances and making sure it doesn’t go outta control. So, if you go, make sure you go with someone who will control the cash. And slowly, you’ll start to kick it and do it play less. Also, if you really wanna go but you know you shouldn’t, then slap yourself in the face (literally) and tell yourself “not today”. We cheering for you!
The thing to tell yourself is this: I will not gamble today and on and on. One day at a time. You can do it. I promise you that you can. Keep the faith, brother.
Admitting you have a problem is your first step. The best to you.
Takes a real man to admit his faults. Youre definitely a brave man bro.

I used to gamble and was also somewhat addicted, until my wife clearly explained that my hard earned money goes right into the casino employees pockets.
I wish you well, hope your life gets better soon and you beat your addiction.
Stay strong brother 🙏 you got this
Looking good. You can do this. We believe in you!
Stay strong, I quit smoking last summer and quit gambling 6 months ago. Best decision I made.
Quit smoking isn't for everyone. I quit five years ago and life's boring
@ especially when you quite gambling, drinking and smoking.
I feel like smoking and gambling go hand in hand
How did you do it?

gambling is a hard addiction.. because unlike other additions , you can always keep yourself going somehow by thinking "i only need to get really lucky just once !".. with alcohol addiction or p*rn addiction, i don't think anyone would think that "tomorrow i might reach my goal and i can stop".. with gambling, however remote and unlikely.. there is always a 0,0001 chance that tomorrow will be the "jackpot".. That makes it so much harder to quit, i think, also on a subconcious level.
I worked double shifts for a month over Xmas and got a great pay. I lost it in 2 hrs. It's a horrible situation. I did get over my gambling addiction, but I had to move countries.
Damn. That sucks. Stay away from casino
You're brave. I'm glad you see the issue you have. I pray for you briefly and you see a way out. Good luck
Its AMAZING how much the average person whos not dealing with gambling addiction takes their gamble free lives for granted. Imagine losing sense of what money is. Its terrible
wow so relatable. I got a soft spot for gamblers because only we can understand the pain. Thanks for sharing, reach out to Jesus
Thanks for sharing your story. Good luck!
You can beat yhis. Its tough but if you keep at it you will overcome. Hang in there.❤❤❤❤❤
Good day to everyone AND this gentlemen of this video. I am sincerely cheering for you - because you are WORKING and doing something for your life and your situation.
I really hope your hopes come through, it's hard, VERY hard, I've been addicted for over 35 years 😢....I have 2 nowhere jobs working 64 plus hours a week just to pay for my gambling debts..... everything you have talked about, it's me, I've been there......for sure we can't do it ALONE, please please believe me.....our brains think different and we need another person to help.....and it certainly ain't easy.......stay safe and stay smart, the fight is far from over 💪💪
God bless you, my man. Honesty with yourself is the very first step to “getting clean”.
Today makes day #60 I’m clean and sober from the casino
Sir, been there. Same exact boat. I fear for you. Two answers for you. 1. Surrender your finances to a trusted family member. Your finances goes to the person and he or she pays your bills. 2. Get out the environment. Relocate to an area with no casinos. You sound like me. You won't stay away even though you want to. You have to take action. Move to a place with no casino. Or surrender your finances to a family member.
Only place not allow gambling in United States is Hawaii 😅
No. It shouldn't be illegal. We should realize that gambling is about having fun, not to win money.
You got this! Keep posting youtube videos and update us!
It takes a special kind of person to be addicted. Addiction will teach you that we are not the same. I know what you've gone through, we are in the same boat
Prayers going out to you for recovery. God Bless.
i am an ex gambling addict. what helps me is keeping busy. i like to play golf so i do that. my main addiction is sports betting. so i dont even watch sports anymore
sorry to hear that you decided to not watch sports because of gambling...
@@MaxEternalLife Amen brother 🙏
Stay strong brother!!!!
Good luck to you sir. I also self excluded myself from my local casinos. That helped. Now it's under control after 6 years.
Thank you for sharing your testimony. I was there too. 😢 😢😢😢. Gambling almost killed me. 😢😢😢😢I was having suicidal thoughts. My mental health was going down.
Hope your doing better 🙏
Thank you for your honesty! I’m in the same boat. The book “The Easy Way to Stop Gambling” by Allen Carr might help. Good luck!!!
I am right there with you...moved to Vegas 21 years ago...but lost my husband in 2008... And started going to Casino everyday so as not to be lonely....yep lost half million in 16 years...and what do I have now... ZERO
I just came across your video thanks for sharing with us your story stay humble you got my sub...
Bro. Keep at it. Don’t worry about the end of the year. Every day you wake up, just remind yourself not to gamble that day! You got this. One day at a time! Even one hour at a time if necessary! There’s help out there
You’ll get to your goal buddy keep focused on the process and the vision will become a reality
I wish you the best man and hope you can stay away from gambling! It ain’t worth it man, try to stay strong when the itch starts coming back
Don't fight your addiction.. replace it.
Keep working on getting that strength to overcome the disease. Be well brother!
Kudos to you ! Thanks for telling your story - Keep moving Forward !
Gambling is the only addiction I don’t have. I understand the compulsion gamblers have but if I win or lose it’s all the same to me. Waste of time. I would go to meetings if I had that habit though.
There’s a lot of us in the same boat!!! Trying not to sink!!! Stay strong my friend!!!! ❤
The key is awareness. Until you get disgusted with the addiction you won’t change. GOD bless you.
I think sports betting should be legal but people with a gambling problem shouldn’t bet at all
Don't give up!!!!!
One big problem with gambling in this day and age is just the cost of living combined with the access to credit. Before you know it, you are in a massive hole and then that’s when the loan sharks get you. The 47% loans start stacking up along with with those $1500 payday loans that cost $225 for 14 days or less.
100% agreed
I had to go to rehab to learn how to
Catch it: the behavior
Check it: think about why it's a bad idea
Change it: make better decisions
Good luck it worked great for me 2 years gamble free
Never give up. Sounds like you are due for a huge win!
Don’t encourage the poor slob.
lol. Tijuana casinos is a new level of degeneracy too. 😆
I used to be a gambler, but I finally had enough. Start silver stacking. Every time you get paid buy a little silver. After a few months you will see a gorgeous pile of silver, after a year you will have a huge chest of silver.
Gambling addiction is terrible, me too casino take everything away from me, I hate my self 😢😢😢
keep ya head up brotha things will get better
Wishing you the best always!!!! Good luck 🍀
He looks like a mob guy in a crime family. Great job quitting though. I subscribed. Keep the videos coming. You sound like a chill, good guy.
Thanks for sharing, hope and prayers on your journey.
My thoughts are with you brother. Takes balls to be honest with yourself
This video is sad. My friend , you seem like a great hard working honest man. Believe in yourself and treat yourself like one. The gambling is a dead end…. Move on …. Never again. Seek help and 9-5 might work to keep you occupied and fulfilled. Best…
PS : Gig work feeds the same gambling mentality… the next trip….
So true. Depression and anxiety are root causes of every addiction
Sports betting literally changed my life. I used to have to drive to work every day, now, I have to take the bus because I gambled my car away
Good plan to not gamble for the rest of the year. It is a goal that is attainable. One day at a time. You got this. Good luck
