What an awesome recipe! I love how simple it is to go from savory to sweet. And thanks for not including nutritional yeast. I know it’s life for some people but it makes me sick when I eat it. 🧐 Brilliant recipe! 😎👍🏻
OMG, I’ve found my people! I thought I was the only vegan who hated nutritional yeast! It takes like the fish food I fed my goldfish when I was a kid. (And yeah, I’ll admit that I know this because I tasted it like I did everything when I was a little kid.) Just realized all these comments are 4 years old. I guess I’ll keep mine up in case ppl are still around & watching/reading.
this channel is amazing because literally all the comments are so pure and always positive and rightly so!!! love the videos, recipes, especially your humour!!!
Small tip on mixing :> Pour just a little bit of milk into your flour, omit the butter for now. Mixy mix like you would be making a dough. Then dilute it with rest of milk, add the butter and you gonna have the proper structure and less work. That's how u make original bechamel, or how u mix pancakes mixture :)
OMG I actually love you! You are the best thing on UA-cam! Thank you so much for your straight-talking, hilarious but super helpful guidance...safe to say I have subscribed!
Hi! Thank you for the video. You are inspiring. I found it easier to mix the flour and milk by adding just a little quantity of milk first. And then it’s well mixed I add the extra. And so it’s gain the right texture almost immediately. I use this technique to make cacao :) The souse didn’t work for me. But it was fun to make it.
I love your channel. You're the reason I first thought about going vegan and in the end, the reason I made the leap into veganism! Thank you!!! These last 2 weeks have been awesome and I often come to your channel for laughs and recipes. 💚
First recipe I’ve made of yours ... my (non vegan) boyfriend and I both loved it! Thanks for providing a simple creamy white sauce recipe, because it’s something he craves in the non vegan form fairly often. Ps: this sauce might get you to keep a lady so may not need to do the papapapapapa all by yourself anymore. ;) 👌🌱🤞
With flour things in general, avoid lumps by mixing the flour in just a bit of milk, and adding the milk slowly while mixing. It's slower at start, but prevents that violent mixing. PS: Loved this video xD
Wow, you genius!! Have just made THE best mac n cheese in minutes using your recipe, n I’m trash when it comes to cooking so I’m even more surprised that it worked out soooo well. This is gonna be a go-to recipe for me. Thanks so much 😁💚🙏🏼

I've always wanted to find a sauce I can use for a base and since I saw this video I have been waiting to try it, and the day has come, I'm making mushroom and cheese Chipotle pasta, with this sauce as a base, can't wait to eat it!! I just used this sauce to make an excellent chickpea Indian curry. I think I like it more than when I made it with coconut milk! Thank you for this :) Hope to see you back on UA-cam one day, I miss your channel dearly.
OMG! Instasuscribed!! This is awesome! Love the way you explain it!! I've done vegan cheese in the microwave with the same technique but my ingredients were different, since I didn't have vegan cheese: tapioca starch (since it doesn't taste too funny if it's undercooked for some reason and gives a stretch to the cheese), soy yogurt, nutritional yeast, olive oil and salt.
You are so funny! I keep watching cracking up, then going back to write stuff down. Brilliant.. wish I had found this channel before now. The tofu tips were fab too.

just finished using this recipe to make an easy fettuccine alfredo and it was awesome. haven't had a smooth (not chucky with cashews) alfredo since going vegan
I used to make cheese sauce similar to this (except cooked on the stove) for mac and cheese. I used to add a tbsp of vegan mayo, sprinkle the top with more cheese and bake it. It was delicious. Now, however, I use a cashew base sauce to avoid the oil and stuff because my body hates me. Still delicious though. All that said, I want to doctor my cashew sauce to make custard. Thanks for the idea!
I made the first dish after a long hard day and a rummage through the far reaches of the refrigerator. What I found there were a red onion, a manky pepper, some wilted herbs and a bag of mushrooms that were beginning to smell like feet. Made the sauce, sauteed the rest and put it altogether with the half a box of pasta that was gathering dust in the pantry. It was DELICIOUS. Next up: strawberry rhubarb crumble with custard.
Can’t believe I’ve never seen this! As a lazy vegeterian trying to eat a more vegan diet, this replaces all of the non vegan things that I crave without taking forever/costing a lot like other substitutes
