Good work Joey. I always find it very satisfying when working on a console and there’s that much dust in it for sum reason. I guess knowing that the work is gonna pay off more I suppose and bring more life into saving another console

you can fix the shell. if you can check closely you can see a plastic tooth that need to be alligned with the groove inside. sometimes this piece can be bent and this cause the problem you have.
Your discord community was very helpful, needed schematics for an OG Xbox One and they provided very quickly. I knocked a couple components off while changing the thermal paste. Thankfully it was a gift, but I am a bit intimidated to try and replace them. Very tiny 402 resistor and capacitor. I don't have a hot air station yet, so not sure I should try it with just a soldering iron.
People who can’t look after and clean such simple thing’s don’t deserve electronics. I look after mine and always keep it clean inside and never had an issue with it

My ps5 probably looks the same on the inside. How do you remove the dust? Im always too afraid to damage the console if i'd use a pressured air spray for example.
Hi Joey, since the PS5 is probably not very old, do you have any idea how/why it would be so filthy inside? Just curious because I’d expect that from maybe an old PS3 or 4 but this feels a bit of a design flaw in the PS5 if it lets in this much dust etc?
Turns out if a switch has been fully dead for a while it also can damage the m92 chip. An easy way to see if the m92 is bad is if you connect another battery that isn’t dead and it throws an error code at you. Being error code 2101-0001
I realise that this is for entertainment purposes, but obviously if people are looking to do this at home remember to factor in your time as a cost. Not sure how many hours Joey has spent doing this but if you divide the profit by the amount of hours worked, that’s how much you earn an hour.
I hope you're taking all that bubble wrap and packing materials into account when calculating profit. If you reuse it when you ship that's packing material you don't have to buy and THAT is as good as cash in pocket.
A bloke at work gave me his sons xbox series s,said its had it keeps shutting off and i could have the hdd,opened it up and the motherboard and fans were caked in dust,cleaned it all up and put fresh artic silver paste and runs like a dream now 😂
I’ve had my ps5 for 2 years now and it’s in mint condition and never been moved since it’s been set up. How do people neglect there consoles so much…. It baffles me.
Haha it’s a great question! I just like to clean as I go, to make my life a bit easier. Depending on the flux you use, it can sometimes get very messy if you do t tidy up as you go along and do the job. If you have way too much flux on a HDMI port for example, it can ruin the connection between the HDMI port and the cable to the TV.
