The best video of the Swollen Pickle 🥒 so far in terms of internal trim pots! 🙌The range of the two pots inside is phenomenal. Also great that you discuss the limited edition (Dirty Donny Edition) with the one internal pot outside - but without the other 😞
The new mini version (Smalls) lacks both internal pots - and scoop and crunch on front are only toggle switches with two settings each (with these limited option is no HM2-chainsaw sound available, I guess). I think the version (MK IIS) you present here in the video is the best. Most options and a bit smaller than the first rerelaese of the Swollen Pickle, which is still after years my main fuzz on the board. Cheers!

Yeah, I didn't know better and initially got the Swollen Pickle Mk3. Then I did some research and discovered all the different versions. I wanted to purchase the dirty donner but it's different as well. So I gave you all the information necessary to decide that mk2s is the best version 😅
After all this years I discovered that my pedal got internal pots ;-)

very cool demo :) reminds me pretty much of the stone deaf products like the "fig fumb" (black edition has more range)meanwhile a parametric EQ is just a must have tool in a dist/fuzz/overdrive pedal :)
Great video. I have the MkIIS as well, and it definitely chainsaws. 🤘 I prefer it to my HM-2 in front of my 5153 Stealth, because it cuts at a slightly higher frequency.
I set my internal pots to the least noisy settings. When they are in the default position, it's really noisy. But if I dial the Voice back to 3:00, it really helps out.
You got a mklls. I used one for several years. It's a good industrial fuzz and has a very useable distortion.
Get your hands on a Keeley Fuzz Bender. Several good fuzzes onboard that tone vessel.
The mklls was a good way to jack up my jcm 900 combo into more of a butt kicker than just a big distortion box.
It helps.
Recently, I got one used at a good price.
I cant find a useable sound that I like.
It doesn't seem to have as much gain/fuzz as a Muff.
It seems more fuzzface-y & ripped velcro-y sounding than a Muff ... I dont think I like it.
Dome, you should try an EHX OP-AMP MUFF (the reissue).

It's got some versatility in the tone knob's wide range and you can even bypass the tone knob which adds more versatility.

The Green Russian reissue is cool as well, however - by itself the low end is just too massive and boomy, BUT if you put an SD1 or TS in front of it you start to get nice useable tones.
P.S. I don't know if either of them will CHAINSAW ... I'll let you find out and show us LOL
Watching this great demo made me think I'm sure Jerome could no doubt do an even better one knob pickle, with a lot more gain. It could be really unique.
Jerome could probably do a no knob pickle and it would be better, but even Jerome only has 24 hours each day :D

How do you use and set it? Since I'm not this much into fuzz sound I probably have another taste in how it should sound.
Some cork sniffer told me solid state amps (modeling/profiling) don't work as well with fuzz pedals because fuzz plays well with power tube breakup. Is this true?
fuzz pedals are the worst, they are so picky it's annoying. So probably true, I haven't tested tho 😅
Even on an analog pedalboard, you have to be careful where you put it in the chain. So yeah, there is at least a basis on what that cork-sniffer said.
I have a Fractal AX8, it plays just fine with my fuzz pedals, so don't believe cork sniffer
Yes, Fuzzes are only picky on what is before them in the chain, not what's after. Because realistically, no pedal can detect what's further down on the chain. Also any fairly decent modern modeller/plugin should be capable of behaving like a real amp; making them sonically at least, almost indistinguishable to the real counterpart.

I have the Dirty Donny edition Pickle. It is easily the loudest, gnarliest pedal I've ever owned. And it looks totally tits to!
