- A drive through the Adelaide Formula 1 Street Circuit 25 years after it last hosted the Australian Grand Prix. Vintage footage spliced in throughout to jog your memory. Some things have changed, some haven't. Enjoy!
Please note: this video is edited & the engine is rev happy - speed limits were not exceed.
One of my fav F1 circuits ever.
It is my favourite too! I drive it on the way to work :)
@@mrs5061 Maybe, one day I will personaly see place where as a young boy i watched on TV the best race of the season. This track is a huge part of mid 80/90' F1 history. Today F1 is not even a shadow of that old F1 spirit...
@@jmfjcas6014 The 80s/90s era seems to be the most exciting and raw - it doesn't feel exciting anymore :(
I remember hearing the cars from my house when I was a kid in 1995 for the last race in Adelaide!
Thank you for this. Sennas favourite track to race! Peace love and digital hugs from Canada!
You're welcome! Senna did well in Adelaide. We also have a memorial on the side of the track at the 'Senna Chicane.'
@@mrs5061 I actually just discovered that myself with in the last few weeks. Seriously a incredible human being
@weikang cai no need for that
@@mrs5061 Street circuits when properly design were always the most demanding. Senna being the best driver ever, this result in him performing very well on street circuits.
Which he showed already in Macao (Macau) and of course, Monaco .
Amazing video, always wondered what the track was like. How great would it be to have F1 back here in Adelaide. It would restore a great amount of pride back into this city, but I feel that Steven Marshall and his gang of parrots are not aware of the prestige and legacy that the F1 competition attains.
Yes I agree, it would help put Adelaide back on the motorsport map!
The cancellation of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival (which was the closest we got to F1's back on the city streets) + cancellation of Adelaide 500 were bad decisions IMO.
@@mrs5061 It's all politics. I believe that Marshall is making decisions which favour his influential friends at the Peregrine Corporation. By cancelling the city race and selling off remaining infrastructure, he is pushing motorsport out of Adelaide's streets and into the new track at Tailem Bend. Apparently they are in talks to proceed with the planting of trees and regeneration of natural vegetation in Victoria Park now, the final nail in the coffin thanks to Mr Marshmallow.
There is no more F1. It has been replaced by Formula Woopsie on non selective parking with ultra flat kerbs as so called limits of the track.
When F1 moved from Adelaide to Melbourne, the selectivity has already been reduced drastically. And it was at part with the trend.
Adelaide was a real street circuit. Trajectory had to be precise. Drivers had to deal with the bumps. 1cm of trajectory and the car was all over the kerbs and maybe more. 1cm inside and it was a loss of time. Melbourne was within a park, the track was smoother, the kerbs were already ultra flat and less demanding regarding the trajectories.
The golden age of Motoracing is not only F1 at its peak, Endurance as its peak, Indycar as its peak.
It had Monaco as the most select track ever, especially in its layout between 1986 and 1996, and had Adelaide as 2nd best urban track ever.
RIP F1
RIP Monaco
RIP Adelaide
Cracking video! Well done. How I wish I was old enough to have seen them in the flesh smashing around the circuit
Thank you for the introduction, and you car sounds very 👍!
Amazing
Would love to see Adelaide return to the F1 calendar
Great video, I just walked the old track, bring lots of memories back, I travel from Victoria to see this.
Amazing, thank you for sharing it with the fanatics of the worldª
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO ALWAYS WONDERED WHERE THE CIRCUIT WAS
It's a great circuit. I can only imagine how fast these current cars would look going down Rundle Rd to the hairpin at the end of Dequetteville. Melbourne can suck it, our track will always be better.
Crazy there is no more clipsal.? Best and toughest street track in Australia
What are you driving

@@mrs5061 Nice
Track revived for 2022 (shorter layout). Supercars return
Is there anything of note at the Flinders Street into Hutt Street corner? It's blocked off and I saw that there is parking for an orthodontist. That corner has history!
F1 must bring adelaide in calendar
Magnifique 😭😭😭
If it weren't for some buildings I wouldn't have recognized it at all.
I remember at one race there back in the early 90s, some fool had left a blue l)ildo on the racing line at turn 3. I always wondered if ever (or WHOMever) it was collected.
Would have been a great 'racing driver excuse' lol
@@misterdog7 it is possible that one of the track marshals or pit crew ended up using it.
EDIT: by that I mean using the blue l)ildo, not the excuse.
La f1 debería volver a adelaide
Awesome video
Time files...
Hopefully Formula E can bring this track back
Formula E is crap !
