For this in depth video I was invited to Zen Racing to drive one of their coolest projects to date. This is a brand new Ford Raptor sporting the Ecoboost twin turbo engine that now makes 510HP and 700 ft pounds of torque thanks to the research the team has done at Zen Racing. This Ford Raptor with the 10 speed is no joke, with the turbos spooling and never falling out of boost. Compared to the V8 Ford Raptor it's a completely different experience, and is one I had to share. It feels like taking the Taurus SHO with an even more powerful engine, and turning it into a mean workhorse of a truck. The 2019 Ford Edge ST could have really learned from this thing to make it way more intense. Thanks for watching!

EmilioLV126 When I was working at a Ford dealer I did an oil change on a 2010 Raptor and that 6.2 had catless longtube headers and an aftermarket catback. My Lord that thing was loud but it sounded soooooooooo goood

I have a gen 2 Raptor, I think it sucks. It rides like shit. The brakes are total shit. Mine is a '18 with under 13k miles. Never jumped or offroaded. I want to sell it

Lol, me too! I’m almost ready to trade my 17 Sierra Denali and I’ll probably just get the 19 model of the same truck, but there’s no denying I’m very tempted by a Raptor... They’re pretty common around here though. I live in a town of less than 2,000 people and I think there are 7 of them!

I found you when I bought my 14 sho PP coming from a 4.6 cobra. Nice to see someone else from the v8 mustang crowd liking the 3.5TT motor honestly the powerband/transmissions/AWD in these things is what makes them so great. I bet the raptor feels exactly like a tuned SHO
3yr old comment but for people now reading: a tuned sho and a tune raptor feel nothing alike. my sho was Tuned/DP/CAI, it was quick as shit. my raptor is a diff beast all together with just tune only.

I've had my 2019 for less than 5000 miles. Flew to Houston to pick it up custom ordered from Jorge Lopez at Tomball Ford and then road tripped through the mountains back to Seattle. I've been offroading in the Texas oil fields, Moab Utah, Northern Nevada, Colorado, and Washington State so far and haven't even had my first oil change. The truck already has a few pinstripes and some pretty beat up skid plates. I bought this thing to play with and that's exactly what I'm doing!! I got the blue interior accent package and man is it luxury inside. Super comfy on long hauls on the highway and in sport mode it attacks the twisty mountain roads way more than a 5700 pound truck has any right to.
Just got my blue crew cab 2018 Raptor. And I Love it.
I test drove a regular EcoBoost F-150 with the 10-speed, and I was surprised by how smooth it was. I'm planning on getting one and using it as a tow vehicle because of the insane torque numbers.

I daily my 17 RR Raptor and have absolutely no regrets. It will never take the place of my 5.0, but at the same time, it does in its own way. Glad to have the best of both worlds.

Yeah, I love the raptor. Just bought a new 20', and installed the roush level 2 power pack. Fun to drive, over 15 mpg,s, and great tech stuff for daily driving. Ford preformance!

My dad has a Raptor. I had the opportunity to drive it, and it’s stunning what a 2.5 ton truck is capable of on the road
Life long GM fan. Had a 2017 6.2 Silverado UNTIL I drove the Raptor! Brand new Raptor now in the garage. Trust me V8 fans, sound doesn’t matter when you drive these bad boys. I also just finished a trip through the mountains in TN and WV with the Raptor and was it ever fun on the twisty mountain roads. With all the fine tuning done by Ford performance everything works together seamlessly where as my Silverado leveled with 35’s on it, never felt as planted to the ground as the Raptor. Worth it if you can afford it, but don’t pay over MSRP.
You want hear of anyone running a gen 2 Raptor down that owns one. These trucks are beyond awesome. They fly around like a sports car and there lite on the feet, they haul ass, they have paddle shift, very comfortable and there a blast to drive. Kinda of vehicle that gets you excited when you have to go somewhere. The factory suspension is incredible. It’s funny when I see people run a vehicle down. Plus they hold there value because most people keep them. These are lifetime vehicle. Just a really cool fun driver. Oh and there way underpriced for what you get and nothing compares to it. Ford got this right.

That thing drones through the whole rpm range. You're better off leaving the exhaust stock instead of making it sound just as bad but louder.

I swapped out my factory muffler for a Gibson unit for $100 & it sounds great & opened it up quite a bit.
My Roush cai combined with that Gibson muffler made a noticeable difference in sound & power.

It actually sounds a little like a 350z. If trucks were just being invented nobody would hate the v6 sound. It's just the truck stigma that makes people be like "no v8? Boooo!"
While I agree it does sound like a 350z, it’s muffled and sounds broken. There’s no doubt that it’s a great engine, but sound is a huge part of the driving experience. My car personally, a Mini Cooper N/A i4, is by no means fast but it’s got a mean purr inside the cabin. It adds so much to driving down back roads when I’m not cranking up the volume on the stereo.

How much is the performance upgrade kit from Zen Racing?
Does this truck have a tune ?? Or is the intake exhaust the only mods? 190 torque gains is impressive from the 510 stock . I have an ecoboost with the same intake i plan on getting downpipes and adaptors and a tune id love to get mine to 700 torque
I just got a 2020 3.5, how he was shift through gears and giggling, i did the samething, ive wanted a raptor for so long and im not disappointed, i did a QTP exhaust dump for an aggressive sound underneath, but can switch it over if i choose. Gotta say i cant go anywhere without someone pulling up wanting to test that twin turbo v6 😅. I did a Cobb tune as well recommend its a game changer to maximize that HP and torque

I don't mind Ford giving the Raptor the V6 since its a really well done engine and its performance proven. I love the sound of the old 6.2 V8 however I don't mind the sound of this V6. Ford is always proving why they are my favourite car company out there.

Mine is still factory, If you put it in tow haul mode it hits all gears and holds gears longer, definitely wakes it up combined with a pedal commander

I saw one of these on my trip to the USA last year, The ecoboost seems awesome, 500+hp out of a Diesel V6!!!
There was a Shelby one (I think) we also saw that was 550 or 600hp!!
Nugget Garage the ecoboost is a gas motor. Ecodiesel is a diesel v6 in pickups though

Nugget Garage no biggie. We wish there was a 500hp diesel in a half ton pickup here in the US. Not hard to do with a powerstroke, cummins, or duramax but those are all 5.9-7.3 liters in displacement and in much heavier trucks

Never thought of this before but instead of swapping the coyote to my v6 new edge instead i could swap this engine. It would still be a v6 mustang in the end
Honestly some people will still say “the v6 is lame” and honestly I’m all for the power but I still think the 6.2 is the way to go, it’s also my favorite body style so maybe that’s part of the bias
For those that want the v8, Hennessey put the Coyote 5.0 v8 inside of the new Raptor and supercharged it to over 700hp

love your videos but will disagree on how smooth transmission is , it does clunk when shifting from 1-3-5-7 because it does skip like that depending on rmps and throttle input . I got 2018 V8 10 spd and its noticable when gears are shifted. I've driven some other cars with 8 or so gears and you could if not at all feel any gear change ( almost like CVT ) just different engine sound , also when it comes to 10spd tran i have a feeling truck is sometimes confused about what gear its in , it will go 6-7-8-7 and it gets a bit annoying at times , I know it wants to rpm-speed-throttle match but when there to many gears it does hop up and down ... my first neighbour has 3.5 ecoboost and loves it. for sure ford has done some good work on second gen ecoboost

My mother’s new Ford Expedition has the new 3.5 V6TT. It makes 350 HP with 400 and some change torque.But I’m wanting to flash the ECU to make the same power and shift like a raptor.That would be a amazing sleeper!

@Cringes Exhaust and cool air won't get your any HP without a tune. All the HP comes from the tune. Of course you tune, then will can say goodbye to the warranty unless you have a very nice dealer.
