Genius my friend, pure genius!
Thanks!
Thanx this is really clear and easy to follow.
Awsome, same as my holden Jackaroo transmission 🙂
I'm having trouble putting the linkage back correctly
If it is because of adjustment just keep shifter in park position and tighten cable with little bit of tension to engaging side
What issues does a faulty one cause?
In my particular case there was oil leak. Noticed oil drip on the floor after overnight parking
I need this done but scared of someone messing it up. Know anyone near Los Angeles California that does great work?
Sorry I dont have any recommendations. This replacement is so small and looks easy but actually not jokes
Question so on my dash my PRND DOESENT SHOW IT GO INTO GEAR. AND I CAN HEAR IT GO INTO REVERSE AND DRIVE. AND ALSO IT GAVE ME THE TRANSMISSION SAFE PROGRAM. WILL ME CHANGING THIS SOLVE IT.
This was just shaft seal, it doesn't do anything for safe prog. it just slowly leaks fluid. And you need to do ECU scan check fault codes and then you will see whats wrong. Maybe your transmission failed, mayby gear selector sensor broke, It could be something ABS related. Or just try disconnect battery and reconnect after 15 min.
Hi, 2001 E39 here. According to all VIN data bases I have ZF 5HP19 trans. Selector bracket looks the same, but no position selector there.
I'm leaking from the selector rod shaft seal, but i can't find a part number anywhere for my trans. (Thailand 5 series were different in many ways). Seems there's only this type of seal though in ZF 'boxes??? Don't wanna presume - as knowing BMW they'll be different lol
I think you should be fine just purchase this seal from BMW dealer using car VIN number!
I have the problem that my trans doenst see the gears any more only S and 12345 but car wont start nou because iT doesnt see neutraal and Park. Is this the same fix?
It seems like gear position sensor is bad. 2:37 this is it.
GetWork thankyou

This is my problem
Does any transmission fluid leak out when changing this gear selector rod seal?
almost none
What is the part number? I own a 2003 e46 BMW 330i and I'm having oil seepage with the shift rod seal so I'm trying to replace it. Thank you!
I guess that your gear box is little different so you need different seal I think. 3:24 is all info on package.
@@Work_G ok so I got the part finally, I was wondering what tools did you use and what products? Thank you so much!!
@@erossantoyo Everything 100% shown on video what I used and what I did. If you asking for tools specs, sockets sizes I don't remember that. Just follow this video and you will be fine and figure it out while doing
how can i find seal for automatic transmission zf5hp19?
Ask dealer, low chances if you could find exactly one in auto parts store
Tutorial video whats the irritating noise in the background for, waste of time,
your a waste of time
Please, for the love of God... don't make everyone watch each and every turn of the bolts as you take them off! I mean, what is the point?
It's helful, what do you mean?
@@claynevers3253 Went back and watched the video again (it's been a year), and I don't know what it was then, but it doesn't seem to warrant the same criticism now that it had a year ago. My apologies!
@@LanceJudd Lol all good
