Your videos are awesome! Some of the most clear and well explained videos I've seen. I'm wondering if you have a recommendation for repairing a b clutch that failed a compression test, tested with air compressor, in one of these ZF 6HP transmissions? Error code that came up is 4F95 - EGS Ratio monitoring clutch B-E - happened after going into limp mode and wouldn't shift until turning on/off and then drove fine. Will performing the job shown in this video, changing the sleeves in particular, correct the problem? The transmission shop wants to rebuild the entire transmission for $5900 (ouch). 2008 BMW 535xi wagon w/ 135,000 miles. Thanks and keep of the great work!
I've been in the trade 30 years but I have to say this was as good an instruction video as I've seen ever seen on this topic. Plus the camera work was clear and edited well.I can tell you've got a passion for this. when you get older you would make a good teacher sir. People like you are very rare in the motor trade. All the best for the future.
Hi man, there is a sound that comes exactly in that place underneath my car, it's a 2006 325i step, it's a small knocking like sound during idle, I don't use the car much, it's mostly parked so sometimes when I start it up and let it idle for say 15-20minutes I then hear these knocking sounds, what could it be?
Thanks to you I was able to do this + the solenoids on my 335i a few weeks back!! 🙏🙏 ANYONE thinking of doing this - its actually really easy, kinda fun and hugely satisfying when completed. The hardest part is getting the courage to work underneath your car. I used jack stands + a floor jack as a backup and also ramps. My car is running great and that new transmission feeling is heavenly. Thanks brother your content is amazing. You've made a mechanic out of me! God bless you 🙏
Hands down the best UA-cam video I have ever seen about a car repair. This guy is amazing. Really knows his stuff and speaks so well without any hesitation or mess ups. Really well filmed and well explained. Thank you so much you’re a genius buddy
Outstanding video. No ridiculous stupid background music just straight up instruction so that we all can save money.. thank you again so very much. Keep those fantastic videos coming.👍👍👍👍
Hi All. I just did this job. Not technically challenging but SUPER messy. Wear something that will cover as much skin as possible you will get transmission fluid all over you even being careful. My mechatronic sleeves didn't have that little snorkel at the base. Just round. The kit I bought from RMeuro had the snorkels on the long tubes so I left the old ones in. They looked very pliable and not bad at all. Refilling with ZF orig fluid after reading some stuff that freaked me out enough about alternative fluids. In the long run I figured it was worth the premium. Great vid again and thank you for posting!
Great clip... I'm licensed in Canada for over 40 years specializing in Auto Transmissions and I don't know any another Auto Tech (including myself) that can do any better. Well done.
Ive owned my 05 645ci since 11/16. I thought I could rebuild the trans since it had the hard 1-2 shift. I rebuilt two 4L60e and my neighbor's 700R4. The ZF looked intimidating for I left it alone. I babied it the best I could to not be so harsh. Videos started popping up in 2017-2018 but didn't find them til recently!!!!! I watched your video a dozen times before finally ordering the kit from fcpeuro and a programmer to reset the adaptations. You gave me the confidence to tackle this job. Took a few hrs because I was working SLOWLY not to strip or break anything. That plastic cup for the plug is no joke. I saw that you took a pry bar to leverage/push it in. That's what it took to push it in for that slide to click in properly. Other videos state "Constant pressure by hand". No not with my 05 645ci. No space to shove your hand in there to do that! NOT having a hard shift FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE OWNERSHIP is AMAZING!!!!!!!! Thanks again.
I spent more time trying to get that shitting thing out and back in than it took me to do everything else on the job. Literally 45 mins out than another 45 to get it back in. Big hands suck when working on cars.
This video saved me from needing to call a tow truck. Thank you ShopLifeTV. The most helpful part for me was the need to push in on the plug adaptor to be able to push the white clip back up and in place at about 13:30 in the video. The replacement plug adaptor was slightly different than the original and I never could get the new one to go in all the way. However, the old one was just fine and I was able to get it back in place with your help. Thank you for sharing you knowledge.
WOW Great video and very informative! I did my first transmission fluid change in my BMW X1 2013 with a ZF GA8HP45Z. Everything went fine until I removed the pan/filter to replace it...and then I noticed a small metallic pin, 4,5 inches long and 1/4 diameter with a hand printed label 5x46 004 187...after doing some research and consulting some forum it appear that this pin is a ZF inspection / mounting tool...that was left there by a ZF technician....so it was inside my gearbox below the mechatronic...for 8 years and 96 000 km
ShopLifeTV Just did this last night, I could not have done it without your information and 'tutorial' if you will, you gave me the know how to save $3k or more in money working on my older E60.
I did this whole service with the solenoids as well, by myself with jack stands lol. It was rough as fuck but I feel accomplished especially since I just got into DIY work about 2 years ago. A little tip, if you have a push button start and for some reason your car wont start afterwards, make sure the mechatronic is lined up perfectly and the gear selector is in place because your car wont be able to start if it doesn't know that it is in park or neutral, took me an extra whole day to figure this out.
Luke Rodgers hey did you figure it out what it was cuz I’m having the same issue no start on the screen no letter for Park it’s - - - 525i 2005 bmw I even made sure the shifter peice is in the slot with the computer and the shifter unless it’s somehow off by a little I’m lost no start
I know this is a kinda old video but just wanted to thank you for putting it out there. Just did mine today and this vid got me through it! My trans was doing the clunk from 3rd to 2nd when coming to a stop and not wanting to change gears. Ended up having to baby it in manual mode the last few days of work till I could get to it this weekend. All problems solved upon test drive! I believe I was low/ leaking fluid and or filter was clogged. My 2011 335i is at around 135,000 miles. Probably gonna wait a few months and redo fluid, filter as you suggested. Thanks!!!
Great tutorial, was able to fix the leak on my daughters 2010 535i. Has 206000 miles and the transmission feels as good as new. Had a tough time with the electrical connector housing but eventually secured it in place. Thank you
Just dropping in to give a huge thank you for all of these vids. You explain very well what you're doing, including showing all of the fasteners and clips - which I think is key when doing my own DIYs and not knowing what to expect once I dig into something. I also know how time-consuming doing vids like this can be. Great job!
Thank you so much for this great in-depth tutorial with clear HD video. I admit I was a little nervous researching this mechatronic sleeve install, but your video gave me the confidence I need. I have to do this to my N62 after it is now leaking from the mechatronic sleeve. First the starter, oil cooler thermostat gasket, and now this. Thanks BMW..
Thank you so much for this very detailed video with great lighting, picture quality, camera angles without blocking views, and narration. You've saved me a ton of money.
Excellent video I just completed this job yesterday with this video on replay and from start to finish it was very helpful.. the instructions was very well explained and my car feels amazing now. I feel like it shifts wayyy better than it did before... my issue was only the transmission oil pan leaking so I did a full oil change and preventative measures by changing all those seals .. I can't thank you enough I just moved to Georgia from NY and can't find a good mechanic.
That was so detailed i thoight I was watching a BMW tech training video . Reading all data for 30 min was a waste you gave torque specs and all Im impressed
While I'm not a "expert" mechanic I can recognize a good one when I see one. Good video with sensible steps not to wordy but covers everything very nicely. Good on yea
Excellent video. I just completed this service on my 2008 BMW 535xi. A note for you XI owners; there is an additional layer of complexity with the AWD cars. You'll have the front driveshaft in your way, and you'll be unable to access the fill plug until it is removed. For that you'll need reverse torx sockets. Also, I was unable to access the mechatronix plug adapter; while I was able to remove it, the bracket for the final drive is in the way, so you won't be able to pull it out without removing additional brackets for the final drive.
Your video gave me the push I needed to do the job myself. I heard horror stories about messing with the valve body. After watching this, the job was done in one hour. 👍 Thanks bro
I wish I lived closer to you. I was just in LA last week. I live up in Central California. I have an E90 335i. I have been noticing when it downshifts from 2nd to 1st, when coming to stop lights, and stop signs and such, that it clunks a little, and you can feel the downshift and feel the clunk. You can feel it more than you can hear it. This has been happening for the last 4 months or so. However, just last night on my way to work, I got a message on the idrive system saying "Transmision Malfunction" Drive moderately, continued driving possible. Reduced acceleration. After work, I drove home, with no issues, the malfunction warning never came back. The clunk although it's not all the time, just sometimes. Especially after long freeway driving, and then coming to a stop, is when it's at it's worst. Otherwise, I don't have any other problems. Car has 145,000 miles on it. I have no idea when the transmission was serviced last. About 3 months ago, I got a quote for a service, which included filter, and fluid change, for 1800 dollars! I was taken back by that. I find that quite expensive just for a fluid change and filter. Thinking about DIY, but I don't know yet. Anybody else have their transmission serviced? What did you all pay?
Please place this DIY video as a sticky in bimmerfest E60 forum. It would help a lot of BMW 5 Series owners. I always wondered why ZF transmissions are so finicky in BMW and not in Hyundis or other cars, is it the engine stressing it or the temperature. ZF transmissions are very sensitive to temperature. It would be very helpful if you could identify the particular transmission as BMW E60 has a couple of models and the v6 and v8 engines use different transmissions. You video is the first video I have seen which clearly explains this unique DIY process. My expensive two volume Bentley manuals provides only 8 pages to the BMW transmission and that only to identify fill and drain plugs etc complete nonsense. Your video is a life saver for all BMW owners who want to keep their vehicles beyond the ridiculous 50k miles limit. You would be amazed how many times my BMW dealer has offered to put me in a brand new vehicle. Well What is wrong with my present vehicle which you happily sold me a couple of years ago. :-) I understand BMW loves selling cars, but look at Toyota they don't say their cars are only good for 50K...
This process fixed transmission problem on my BMW x5 e70, great video, keep in mind that without reset you will not see any changes, you must do the adaptations reset.
Great work and very informative. Tells everything you need to do and watch for without all the nonsense inbetween, and hats off to Selena on the great camera work. Awesome video!
If new solenoids are installed, then reset adaptations and perform zf adaptations drive after ATF is operating temperature. Otherwise, the TCU/Mechatronik unit does have the ability to do partial adaptations if the same solenoids are used in the same spots and they are not mixed up upon reinstallation.
Idk why this comment isn’t liked. It’s informative and very necessary step. I’ll be doing this service soon. Well if a filter/pan , atf and gaskets don’t work for my car.
Great how to video! I had P041072 Trans Malfunction error , 104k miles E92, did this procedure and no issues after 3 days of driving. Fingers crossed. Additionally , I took the computer off the valve body (6 or 7 short bolts) and checked the solenoids resistance, all ohms matched each other. Bummed the adapter seal was not cracked or broken but maybe it was leaking a little.
Thanks for this vid, Ankur. One of the best tutorials. I completed this job this weekend, with all the seals and solenoids. Car has 103k miles and driving great after the change. Very easy to follow step by step. I didn’t reset adaptations.
Fantastic video. While I now feel more educated on the matter, ill still leave the mechatronics work to the experts (hands are far too large and likely to break something!) Sincere thanks for posting this!
Ok, i did a drain and fill on my zf6hp19 with the valvoline. I had a 4-5 flare before i did it and it seemed to fix that for me. No more ZF fluid for me, only Valvoline max life. I have a lot of miles on the car. Changed fluid and pan @ 150k miles with ZF and drove 90 K with flare if pushed hard it would flare so i just drove it easy for the 90 K to prevent it flaring. Drain and fill with Valvoline @ 240k. ZF fluid is about 5 times more expensive also
Hi bro, the video was really impressive and very well explained. While i was searching about the fault(Whenever I reach a stop sign, no matter how slowly I decelerate to a complete stop, the car always has a final jerk when it comes to a complete stop. Similarly, no matter how slowly I accelerate while coming out of the stop, the car has a sudden jerk when the gears are changing underneath.) of my car ( BMW X3 (E83) 2.0 D DIESEL 2008) and i found you video. May i get any suggestion about this problem, should i change the parts that you have shown in the video? Thanks in advance.
One of the Best instructional Videos I've ever followed. Thanks! It sure is a PITA to get that plug back onto the plug adapter. At least with my giant hands.
Loved the video...very detailed showing all the steps! Might I add one MINOR but important tip: Use VASELINE or similar lube on the electrical connector sleeve......makes it a snap....after trying for hours to fully seat it with trans fluid alone. VASELINE. (5 min)
Hello I own a 08 BMW X5 premium sport 4.8i. I purchased with 96,536. It now has 102,000 miles. The transmission now bangs from a slow start 1 into 2. Had the dealer check the transmission for $ 163.63 and was reported no leaks, no codes, and fluid at proper level. They said the fluid had a very bad burnt smell, and I should just replace the transmission at $ 8, 958.44. Really lol. First of all thank you for the video, I said to them let’s do the basics first lol. If I need a transmission after the basic, it will be a used one. These dealerships must think we are suckers lol or stupid for sure.
Thank you so much for your video. Having problems with my wife X5 E70 2007 and hope the service fix the slipping on 3 and 4 gear. Sometime have to control with slow RPM in order to avoid the transmission malfunction warning. Going to do the service tomorrow. Thanks for your information and hope to fix it with this kit.
excellent video. I would like to know what are the symptoms that would make you believe that those four sleeves need to be changed. thanks for your time.
Awesome video! My 06 330i has 225k miles. Previous owner said BMW told him to not change the fluid. I'm planning on doing it just not sure if I should change the solenoids too? Car downshifts fine. Trans doesn't slip but seems to rev high before moving and shifts seem weak.
Of you take the transmission plate, make sure inspect the transmission rubber support that the trans plate holds and see if it not tornd or heavily cracked and replace if needed. Cost about $40 - $50 new.
Informative video. The adapter that came with the kit is slightly different from the original one. It has a small notch on the bigger side and it could not go in snug. So I used the rubber rings with the older adapter. There were no visible cracks or warping on it. I still get the thud down changes between 3rd and 2nd gear as well as hesitation on up shift from gear 5 to 6. It only jumps to 6 when I ease off the gas a little bit otherwise there is that continuous hesitation to shift up but it can't get there an it turns into a pulsing kind of motion. Oh I don't get any engine light or codes. I didn't not clear the gearbox with the INPA.
Perfect video,me who never did a automatic transmision...I change fluid,zf fluid and those plastics like you did.I can tell you my transmision is working so fu... good no hard sifting,it shifts like ther's only one gear. It's so better then before. And i diden't have problems.Thans for videos!!! my e90 i like new!
I had bought the filter/fluid kit a while ago, then my mechanic friend moved out of LA and I've been sitting on the parts. Thought about trying it myself, but what you say about having to have a computer to monitor the temperature I'm not sure I'm equipped for it. And most shops don't take customer sourced parts, so I think I'm stuck. I did appreciate the video though as it was very well done.
I have a 2007 335i and was getting the 2 to 1 “bump” and the slipping 5th gear error (Yellow gear with !) I was told by a local Indy shop that I should try to do the sleeve and the 4 seals between the Mechatronics and the Trans and I would have a 50/50 shot at that taking care of the error. Well that did fix it...I happened to do a valve body swap on my daughters VW Beetle and though that might be the issue with my 335i and IT WAS. I just installed a rebuilt RevMAX valve body and my 335i is shifting great again. I used my old computer from my old valve body and everything went back together great.
Great video, my car range rover 2006 ZF transmission. The D automatic drive stuck at 3rd gear, but the standard S is working fine. I can shift all the gear to run the car. If I do not replace the rubber tube as this video, will the standard shift will stop working when the rubber tube getting worst?
Super informative video,I'll be doing it to my 04 645...as I started to have a weird shake at take of the the I get the trans code...I'll see how that goes...thanks brother
Hi from dubai. Thanks for great information videos. I got x5 4.8 . 2008 . Their is 2 sec delay when engaging in reverse. What do you think might be the problem
Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a 750li 2012 that needs the solenoids replaced. I'm in Los angels. Would you do this job and how much would it cost. Thanks so much in advanced.
Have this procedure eliminate this hard push from 2. To 1. Gear? Because I’ve the same problem. But everybody is change the magnetic valves as well. Thanks for an answer mate. Cheers
2 questions: 1)did you or is it necessary to replace any bolts removed(pan/mechatronics)? 2)did you do a video on changing/checking trans speed sensors?
Can I get some direction on where to get some parts? I just bought a 02 745li and it hesitates between 1st and 2and and 3rd. Any recommendations would be great. Awesome video!
Hi I have a 2006 BMW Z4 that I just bought and did not know how expensive BMW dealer repairs can be. The dealer said my mecatronics sleeve and oil pan are leaking and is asking too much to fix them. Your video inspired me to try to do the repair myself. Would this video apply to my car.? Also a suggestion,to help those of us not well versed on engine model #'s. It would be great if you could include a list of the models that your video applies to. Thank you for your time and God Bless!!
Hi Friend, why is need to replace old torx bolt with new one? BMW recommend the replace bolt. But I can use old torx bolt and what will by risk, because I bought ZF oil pan without bolt? Thank you for attention! Best regards from Bulgaria :)
Just little note, once you had the first 5 liters of oil in the transmission the car should been started only for 10 seconds because the transmission would suck it very fast. Then add other 4 liters of fluid and do the procedure of warming up the transmission by changing gears and once it reach the correct tempeture then check level.
Great video, that transmission fluid looked black when you drained it. Is it still safe to put new fluid on or would that break the transmission? Thanks
It depends on the sludge on the bottom of the pan, not the colour of the fluid. With this more modern transmission, unless sludge has gotten into the mechatronic valves themselves, it shouldn't matter.
Always put new fluid in on Trans jobs. Old fluid has been broken down due to temperature exposure and will not have original properties. New fluid does not break anything. People freak out because they do not understand that new fluid removes old clogged passages and causes rough shifts initially, so they think that the trans is fucked up. But it is a simple matter of resetting adaptations and doing a zf adaptations drive to program the mechatronik computer to the new fluid viscosity and the new cleaner fluid channels. even many experienced mechanics do not understand transmission mechanics so they just report what they see and they are not transmission professionals. I have worked on 8 units so far and all that myth is a bunch of hogwash. Change your fluids and/or solenoids to keep the valve body alive longer which keeps the transmission alive longer. Your clutch packs are super robust and they only burn or decay IF your fluid is fucked or your trans temps are too high (over 200F prolonged). The valvebody is key and the fluid in the valve body is the blood...if you don't keep fresh clean blood...you valve body will suffer like a diseased kidney, then your transmission temps go higher, then your clutches decay faster and make more debris, which leads to a vicious cycle until your transmission simply dies. Then you open it up and see the clutch packs and think that the clutch packs wore out and they are the reason...but you would be wrong. The fluid, and the Valve body goes first, then leads to the clutch packs going.
Hi, Thank you for the video. How important is it to replace the 4 sleeves? i ordered a kit two years ago and i received one wrong one, can one skip replacing the 4 stems? or are they prone to faillure? Thanks.
My trans is already acting up and Miss shifting and going into limp mode and I’m thinking of doing this procedure you just showed us . so my question is , do you then have to reset adaptions and do relearn procedure? Or will it be ok with just replacing these parts
Hi nice tutorials I do have a question have a 2011 535i should have a ZF8HP 45 and I do have the same bump you describe when come to a stand from 2 downshift to 1 gear any idea ? I don't think this transmission has same sleeves ? Thanks in advance
On Audi’s I think the wiring loom is attached to the connector, so you can’t pull just the connector out the side like you showed. Do you know what’s the proper way to remove valve body from an Audi ZF 6HP19A? Do you pull the white release lever then pop the electrical connector inwards, then drop the valve body after?
My transmission had over 80k miles w.o being serviced. When the mechanic did a flush, he did not touch any of the sleeves or solenoid valves. Even after new fluid I noticed the ability to coast still felt off and in gears 1 2 downshifting isnt necessarily jerky but not as smooth as it once was. Should I have the mechanic change what you demonstrated at 9:12? Also seeing some seepage at the bottom of the pan
@@sgj762 last week I went to a transmission specialist. They flushed with new oil and replaced pan+filter. The issue I had was slipping and raising rpm without speeding. Also rough upshift from 2>3. After the new oil the slipping is gone but the rough upshift is still there, although a bit less. The oil was way too dark (like black) and was in there for too long
I appreciate your attention to detail. In summary is it correct that the transmission will hold approximately 4L when cold and then you will finish filling with 3-4L additionally when warmed up?
Great video. Clear, excellent pace and explanations were very understandable. Superb camera work too. The lighting and shots were almost always in focus, which helps because we're looking at the bottom of technical equipment and it's easy to loose orientation from front to back. The Cameraman (er, woman?) was always on top of your explanations. Keep up the great work! What part of Los Angeles by the way?
What do you think about changing the fluid. I’ve heard it can cause problems after. When there was no problems before. My z4. Had hard up shifts sometimes from first to second when cold.
Loved your video on replacing the 550i transmission, exactly to the point and worked out perfectly, I do have a problem now , the trans I switched with shifts hard and throws a transmission malfunction code on my com center, and suggestions ?
For putting the sealing sleeve back in... mine is in the correct orientation, but it doesn't look like its pushed in all the way, but just by a little bit if anything. The beige plastic locking mechanism went up without a problem. Do you think i am good to continue?

@@duffydon1741 I’m having same Sound on 07 328i. can’t find anything on it. Please reply if this service would help .
God bless you 🙏
i was scared of automatic transmission before his videos :D
@PLUTOBEAN,, how long did it take and once you removed the defective parts was the defect obvious???
Hands down the best UA-cam video I have ever seen about a car repair. This guy is amazing. Really knows his stuff and speaks so well without any hesitation or mess ups. Really well filmed and well explained. Thank you so much you’re a genius buddy
This was by far the most informative, well vocalized, best filmed instructional video I've seen on UA-cam. Good job
Thank you for the feedback glad the video was informative!
Totally agree, this video is usually good for these procedures posted on youtube.

If more people like you existed. Nobody would owe the banks for new cars. Keep it going.
this is the BEST "How To" video i have ever seen! ... i am from Kingston Jamaica
Luke Rodgers I need your help Luke I have bmw 535i 2008 the same problem with mines
@@johncorrea2390 turn key on dont start hold gas pedal to floor for 30 secs let up and start car. Reset proceedure
Thanks for the heads up !!! My shifting feels sluggish and I’m thinking the previous owner didn’t did any transmission fluid changes
Thank you
Great to hear!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching
Thank you bro.
While I'm not a "expert" mechanic I can recognize a good one when I see one. Good video with sensible steps not to wordy but covers everything very nicely. Good on yea
Thanks man!
Wow! What a video! There's no way to explain the procedure better than you in this video! Congrats! 👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome, awesome ZF transmission preventive maintenance video! You are the best mechanic on UA-cam period. You make me wish I lived near you!!!
How hard was it to remove the driveshaft?
I feel your pain. Damn extra steps that sucks!!!
I'm at this point now...and it's almost impossible to get the sleeve back on. fml
Did this to my 240,000km 4.8is E53 and surprised how much better and smoother it shifts. Definitely worth it.
I wish I could meet up with a couple e46 e90 owners mobb out and pull up to his shop. Just to thank him for his wisdom on these bimmers.
Your video gave me the push I needed to do the job myself. I heard horror stories about messing with the valve body. After watching this, the job was done in one hour. 👍 Thanks bro
This video gave me so much respect for you as a mechanic, I had to and just JOINED, I'm now a proud paying member!!!
Thank you so much!
Very well produced video. Clear, informative, and (as a non mechanical person) easy to follow. Thank you!
What did you all pay?
it must be nice to have a neighbor like this dude. a Lifeline.
Damn, yet another great BMW DIY! 👍🏻
BMW Fanatic which transmission comes in a 2001 bmw 740il
How did you do the relearn procedure after resetting the adaptations?
13:17 **great tip here. constant pressure on the sleeve with the pry bar so you can push the locking tab.**
Still can't get it in lol
Struggling with this myself
Great work and very informative. Tells everything you need to do and watch for without all the nonsense inbetween, and hats off to Selena on the great camera work. Awesome video!
Best DIY tutorial on UA-cam!
Thank you! Glad it helped!
A timeless video and very to the point and articulate. 2 thumbs up.
bruh this man is goated 🐐 😭, i had a couple places try to charge me $6k-$8k to do this🤦🏽♂️😭
Great how to video!
Hi sir...can you tell me what the problem caused transmission between 1&2 jump or kick is it low fluid or what..great video keep going...thanks
Thanks for this vid, Ankur. One of the best tutorials. I completed this job this weekend, with all the seals and solenoids. Car has 103k miles and driving great after the change. Very easy to follow step by step. I didn’t reset adaptations.
Hi, where do you find the seal for 8hp?
Fantastic video. While I now feel more educated on the matter, ill still leave the mechatronics work to the experts (hands are far too large and likely to break something!)
Sincere thanks for posting this!
VASELINE. (5 min)
I’m struggling with this right now. I used atf fluid first and now Vaseline. Still giving me a hard time
Hello I own a 08 BMW X5 premium sport 4.8i.
I just wish it was easier to trust mechanics in this world. You've got so many bad/fraudulent ones and then you've got the great ones.
Best filmed instructional video I've seen on UA-cam. Keep it up.
Very informative video thanks…
If I was to change all the solenoids, do I have to reset the software? Adaptions etc…? Thanks Danny
Thank you, you are a very good teacher, you make it so easy to understand, you show everything thank you so much!
The best video I have seen for this procedure for sure. THANK YOU!!!
Great video, the perfect amount of detail - clear and concise! Thank you!
great detailed video and explanation of how to do this job. The best Ive seen yet! Very thorough. Thank you!
Buenas tardes ..para medir el nivel de la BMWX3 se quita ese mismo tapón del costado?
Great video, my car range rover 2006 ZF transmission. The D automatic drive stuck at 3rd gear, but the standard S is working fine. I can shift all the gear to run the car. If I do not replace the rubber tube as this video, will the standard shift will stop working when the rubber tube getting worst?
Super informative video,I'll be doing it to my 04 645...as I started to have a weird shake at take of the the I get the trans code...I'll see how that goes...thanks brother
I got the same problem
Your hair looks good even after all that looking up
Hi from dubai.
Hi
I have a 2006 BMW Z4 that I just bought and did not know how expensive BMW dealer repairs can be.
Thanks for making this a much less scary operation.
Fantastic video. I followed it to do the service on my 2007 Z4 Coupe E86. Same transmission; fewer support brackets.
Good video sir thank you but I have a question, is it required to do the adaptation process or not really needed?
Thanks
Also seeing some seepage at the bottom of the pan
nice video mate. i have a 550i e60 2007 with an automatic ZF transmission. is that similar to this one? thanks
Hi Maria! I have the same car. What was the problem with your car? Have you performed that service?
@@sgj762 last week I went to a transmission specialist. They flushed with new oil and replaced pan+filter. The issue I had was slipping and raising rpm without speeding. Also rough upshift from 2>3. After the new oil the slipping is gone but the rough upshift is still there, although a bit less. The oil was way too dark (like black) and was in there for too long
I appreciate your attention to detail. In summary is it correct that the transmission will hold approximately 4L when cold and then you will finish filling with 3-4L additionally when warmed up?
hi.. great video..I have a bmw e90 320d automatic transmission.. what problems would a damaged sleeve cause?
Thanks
Lee from u.k
Hi buddy!!!
Good video 👍.
I have a question?
I have a 2006 bmw 325i when I come to a complete stop The car jerks forward any idea. Thank you
I have same problem this video should help
I have a transmission light 4f89 , by doing this service could help that problem , car shift fine just sometimes I feel weird up and down shifting
Excellent video. You explained everything in detail and made it very simple. This was a very informative video.
Thanks for the cool vid. When can I go to get this done I have a 2007 bmw 335i that needs this. And about how is the cost
Life saver yet again! Lol gonna be doing this exact procedure on the exact model real soon just waiting on parts from fcp euro
Loved your video on replacing the 550i transmission, exactly to the point and worked out perfectly, I do have a problem now , the trans I switched with shifts hard and throws a transmission malfunction code on my com center, and suggestions ?
Hi. Is this the same procedure for the e60 530d?
Great DIY video! 👌🏻
Can bad mechanics sleeves and seals cause the vehicle to not go into gear?? Plz answer
For putting the sealing sleeve back in... mine is in the correct orientation, but it doesn't look like its pushed in all the way, but just by a little bit if anything. The beige plastic locking mechanism went up without a problem. Do you think i am good to continue?
