Hi shnobel, do you think you could do a shoot out between the Vox DelayLab and the TC Electronics Nova Delay? These are the two I am most considering for my delay. Which one would you recommend of the two when it comes to features, simplicity for playing live, and overall sound of the pedal?
woot woot my delaylab arrived today to add to my Vox collection.. now I use Vox 33 Gold top, Vox AC30 VR, Vox V847 Wah Pedal, vox stomplab II, and vox V8 pedal. Whats next to get??
know this sounds like a silly question but i'd prefer to know now rather than going out and buying another pedal: is there a way you can turn the Vox delaylab on/off when you want? or do you need to buy another pedal to activate it on or off?
Hi Shnobel! Thanks again for all your great video reviews. Need a delay with good shaping functions, tap tempo and presets storing under 250 euros. Was going for the Tc x4, then saw this Vox tonelab review, and seems to me it's THE choice. I am not interested in the looper function l, think it's better to have a separate unit for this ( looks like the Digitec jam man XT is fine for this) Maybe TC has a "better quality ", but the Vox offers so much control and storing, think I have to go for this one. May I have your opinion in a few words, and if anyone can help, thanks in advance
Hey, mind if i cheap in here... The TCx4 is a more expensive and yes, you do get better built quality and possibly a better sound out of it! I own the Delaylab and i have played the TC Delay and i like the Vox better because u can store your settings. Which is useful if you are in a band and you want to recall settings quickly. If you have the time to kneel and punch in the settings for a given song, then go with the TC.. It is more stream lined then the vox. Otherwise, you cant go wrong with the Vox.. It sounds great and it has a ton of options in one box. Its large but very light! Hope that helps!
Would you say that it's very noisy with a daisy chain? I'd love to use isolated power, but I need more delay options more than I need to spend that kind of money. I need savable presets.
Hi, great demo :) Im having trouble writing new presets, more to the point saving specific delay times on the banks. I followed the instructions in the manual but it didn't save. Does anybody have the same problem?
Hi, Is it possible to save different delay settings on different channels without having to turn knobs before every song? For example, can I save a reverse on A, a tape delay on B and a regular digital delay on C? I've seen quite some reviews already but none of them shows if it's possible to save different settings on each channel. The Line6 DL-4 is capable of doing it if I'm right. Someone who can help me out? Kind regards!
Hello, Question, the B switch also says reverse, and there is a looper with this right? does the B switch trigger the loop to reverse playback? please answer thank you
James Bagnall I got the same doub but I gues I'll go for Flashback x4 cause the 2290 sound , also toneprint n' u can set it up as twin delay Dotted Eighth + Quarter Note, but if u get more info please let me know bye good luck =)
+shnobel thanks man. I had the delaylab for a while now, didn't have any problems until it stared to make an awful static sound when it was connected with other pedals (power it with a standard 9v 250m) I think I got a bit paranoid to get that precise 500mA after I read that those where the requirements.
Hey man, Just a question regarding the time signatures, can you dial in the tempos on any setting using the fine button or is that only available with some of the delays that come with this pedal, im not really interested in using the 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 type settings, just dialing in custom tempos and saving them to each bank of A,B and C?!
You can preset whatever you prefer (including tempo and time signature) for each type of delay, and save them on the bank. Afterwards you got exactly the delay you chose at the tempo you chose (and you can change it with the tap button if necessary). A bit complicated considering all the options you got, but once correctly set the device is easily usable on stage!
in terms of live playability, this is the best pedal ever.
Thanks man, this is the best demo of this pedal on ytube
A great tutorial on how to use this effect. Thanks
Owned the Delaylab for over 3 years and love it.
The EDGE in a box!
Very well done! Your review made me decide to pick one up. The pedal being on sale for 99.99 didn't hurt either :)
Thanks, yea $100 for these pedals is a great deal
+KOR Where???
Guitar Center but that was over a year ago.
Hello...does the Vox have the capability of storing pre-sets.

Just bought the Vox yesterday haha, thanks for answering, I think it's gonna be a lot of fun ;-)
Cool man. If you find some cool setting, don't forget to share.
Sure!
I WANT THIS!

Does the Tap tempo only works when you engage it? you cannot tap while it is bypassed?
How do you have your AC30 set? Clean or on the edge of breakup?
Yeah! More fuzzes would be AWESOME!!

hi I got just one question does this VOX DELAY have sub-divs I mean Dotted Eighth n' Quarter Note Delay etc?? I'll appreciate u reply t-you =)
Is it possible to change it from MS to BPM?
I'm interested to hear the "Lovers in Japan" preset on this delay...That's one of my favorite songs, but I'm skeptical of this pedal.

Stuck between vox delaylab or tc electronic x4 delay any thoughts?

Lets hear some fuzzes man. Don't see enough fuzzes from you.
how do you power this? (It needs 9v 500mA)
Yeah combining output 5 and 6 buuut... I'm a bit confuse, because in the pp2+ manual says that this combination will give me approx (12V at 400mA).
+Walter Montoya no you don't need to combine, a single cable from either the output 5 or 6 will work great

Today is the second Brazilian.
Words can't describe how slow and boring this review is. "Waste of time" is the best name for this channel
More sound demo n less talk...
If you actually have this delay, every word he say it's super useful.
