Overwatch Precision. As mentioned, it didn’t make a world of difference on my MR920, but it did a decent job on my CR920 and night and day on my PSA Dagger Mini comp. Of If I were to do it all over again, I would do a Johnny Glocks trigger in my Shadow Systems pistols for sure.
I would buy the cr920XP if I didn’t have this and were shopping today. And honestly, already owning this and a cr920, I’m already planning on buying a cr920xp. Definitely worth the money.
I am a remorseful buyer of a MR 920 elite. I bought it brand new. And had issues with it immediately out of the box, initially chalked it up to break in issues. 600 rounds later, the problems with light striking, and the gun not going into battery still kept happening. I shipped it to shadow systems using an FFL, the gun was gone for 3 1/2 weeks without any update on whether it made it there or not. The gun then came back the paperwork saying it had a bad firing pin, took it back to the range and instantly had the exact same problems all over again…….within shots. I tried calling for a refund and they told me they’d want to look at the gun again so now I am shipping it to them for a second time to see if they can actually do the job correctly this time. I don’t think they’re going to buy it from me, unfortunately. So I am going to sell it and do what I should’ve done in the first place. Get the HK.
Oh shit man, I hate to see that. I hope that one way or another, they get you sorted out. I’d be pissed after spending nearly a grand on a gun only to get a lemon. I’ve been there before and I remember how crappy that feels. Best of luck on it and which HK are you considering?
I have the same pistol, also bought it in early 2020. I agree 100% with everything you said about this pistol except… While in general, I feel the exact same way about aftermarket mags for anything really, especially Glocks, but the PMag is NOT an aftermarket mag for the Shadow Systems, it is the “Factory Mag”, meaning the gun was tested and designed around it. Not only that, but if one were to run the 15 rd G19 mags in the pistol, while they will work fine, in the event of a type 3 malfunction, or something that jams the gun up and the mag with it, there is no way to get a purchase on the bottom of the mag (if your also running the Shadow Systems included magwell). With the longer mags as you show it is not an issue. All that being said, I have dozens of both factory Glock mags from G19’’s to the 33 rounders and also dozens of PMags in 15, 17, 22 and 27 rounders and they all seem to function fine. I may have had 1 or 2 malfunctions in the time I’ve had this gun. I shot IDPA with it a couple years and USPSA with it for as few years as well. My wife and I are pistol instructors and I use it as my range gun while teaching and when I train, it is my primary pistol as well. All that to say it’s seen more rounds than I can attempt to estimate. You sir are correct, this is a very fine pistol, for just about anything you wish to use it for. I would say however that the PMag, when used with a Shadow Systems pistol, should not be looked at as aftermarket but as the stock mag and 0 reliability is lost to using these over the Glock mags. If anything, and it’s splitting hairs because the gun runs practically flawlessly on any mags, I’d say the PMag is slightly more reliable than the Glock mag. Thats right, slightly MORE reliable than a glock mag (IN A SHADOW SYSTEMS PISTOL). In a Glock, NO, Glock mags are superior. Anyway, to anyone looking to purchase a shadow systems pistol I would say absolutely do it. The only drawback is that you will probably never buy a Glock again as shadow is making about every version of 9mm Glock that Glock makes now and then some. I know I wouldn’t dream of buying a new Glock when for $300 more I could have a shadow. That’s my thoughts. God bless
Just letting you know in case your afterburner takes a shit on you shadow systems makes a compensator that threads onto the original barrel and it works very very very well
Doesn't the Randian Ramjet Afterburner compensated barrel have more hype and good reviews than the larger Shadow Systems Comp he mentioned? Seems like he just got a better comp and barrel that happens to be 50-state legal.
I brought the mr920l and never looked because of the warranty, i was not a fan of the mags ,but they run fine the slid is just a little longer, but i have no problems ccw with a holison 507c and a tlr7 light and these guns fit the glock 19 holsters mine was made by teir i with a spare mag ,and the only people that know i have it know i pack daily ,even to the toilet ,cause why inter fear with a good dump just waite till you past the door to the thrown 😂
No idea, wish I could tell you. But if you did, you’d be losing out on some big benefits of the MR920 like the match barrel and of course the optic cut.
Sons of Liberty Gun Works has the same warranty to replace the firearm if you were in a justified shooting I believe that they were the first ones to do that but still both are a stand up company
I agree. That’s why I had a lengthy discussion about exactly that in the video. Where I talked about moving to a non-freedom state and shadow systems not being able to ship a comp to me here for the gun I already owned from living in Texas. And buying the P version when I already owned this gun would have been a big expense above the cost of just buying the Radian setup.
@@porchjoe yes it’s a Glock magazine but I wasn’t referring to the magazine. I was answering your question directly. Glock manufactures the baseplate. I bought mine in a retail store, I’m sure you can order online from a dozen places.
Yes it does. I wish those were available back when I bought mine, but I’ve had this a long time, I think the MR920 had been out on the market for about a month or two when I bought it.
@@richardj3715yes, and I don’t remember now if I spoke to this in the video, but I meant to: where I live now, we have stupid restrictions, so shadow systems wasn’t allowed to ship my order to me for the comp when I tried, so they had to cancel it.
The stock pistol at retail? Or are you asking what mine costs with the couple of upgrades I’ve done? The Elite is still 989 from the retailers I checked, no price increase
P365 is more modular, thinner, lighter, and cheaper. You also can buy grip modules that turn the P365 into 2.5 different guns. It also has the ability to add a thumb safety to it. If you like concealing bigger firearms the MR920 is an excellent choice, but for me if a firearm is smaller and has the same capacity without any downsides it is superior.

I did a deep dive before buying mine in 2020. Most people who had issues did not oil/lube and/or did not allow for sufficient break in period. I had zero issues. Their customer service was superb when I requested for my trigger to be smoothed out. Was good, but I felt that it could have been more refined. I hope you were paid to say this. If not, you should not do any more gun.Reviews. The shadow system slides move up and down when you can you pull the trigger. This is crazy, I have guns that are a quarter of the price that do not do this. Go, look at yours. Watch the red dot and squeeze the trigger to the wall. You will see the slide, go up and down.

It also has a MUCH BETTER grip texture and deeper double undercut trigger guard than the MR020. I also prefer the Hatchet's slide serrations to those of the MR920. Furthermore, the BUL's trigger is nothing short of phenomenal for a Glock clone! And it's just $620!

Of course I don’t WANT to lose a couple thousand dollar gun, but I want the precision and reliability of that level of gun on the off-chance it needs to be called up to action.
I don’t know who Owen is, but as I discussed in the video, you’ll spend hundreds more to do the same things in a stock Glock, and some things that cannot be achieved on a Glock because Shadow Systems makes all of their own components and parts themselves here in Texas. They do so, in order to create things like the direct mount optic cut slide for every major mount footprint there is, and to mount low. The extractor channel that Glock has prevents this from being a reality. The angle of the rear of the slide to eliminate an area that can typically print when concealed, and so many other things. I’ve owned and carried Glocks since the 90s and now own exactly none because Shadow Systems made them irrelevant for me.
Upgrading a standard Glock to this level (most of these are common mods Glock owners do), prices you about $300 more expensive than the MR920 Elite and on top of that, some things on this pistol can’t even be done on the Glock (such as the optics mounting setup)

But the SS is a great alternative to Glocks and the trigger is slightly better out of the box, I’ll be putting a Ramm Tactical trigger in it soon to try out something new.
What gen afterburner do i get for mr920 i heard its based on gen 3 then i gen 4 ?
Gen 4
There is video talking about why they chose the p mag’s
Yes there is. But there still is no justification IMO.
What’s the compensator called?
Whats the trigger? Mine doesnt seem to sit so flat when pulled
Overwatch Precision. As mentioned, it didn’t make a world of difference on my MR920, but it did a decent job on my CR920 and night and day on my PSA Dagger Mini comp.
Of If I were to do it all over again, I would do a Johnny Glocks trigger in my Shadow Systems pistols for sure.
you should try tactical poontune drop in triggers, they are great!!!
I’m not a huge fan of the guy’s odd attitude I’ve seen from his videos.
@@AtoZEDCreviews what about johnny glocks?
cr920xp vs this is the current internal struggle
Just got the MR920P with the tool-less removable comp and absolutely love it
I would buy the cr920XP if I didn’t have this and were shopping today.
I agree 100% with everything you said about this pistol except…
While in general, I feel the exact same way about aftermarket mags for anything really, especially Glocks, but the PMag is NOT an aftermarket mag for the Shadow Systems, it is the “Factory Mag”, meaning the gun was tested and designed around it. God bless
I appreciate all the good info in your comment, but please consider using paragraphs next time.
Good points and you may well be right about the Pmags, but since I already have Glock mags and all have worked perfectly, I won’t need to find out lol
Just letting you know in case your afterburner takes a shit on you shadow systems makes a compensator that threads onto the original barrel and it works very very very well
Yes, they do. Unfortunately I’ve tried buying it before but they can’t ship to the state I moved to. Thats why I switched to the afterburner.
@@JimSkeltonKnives Oh, because of the threaded barrel?
@@Norp-i7myep. Which is stupid, since I was just buying the comp which means I already had the evil threaded barrel lol
Did you get the gen 4 radian ramjet ?
Yes, Gen 4 is what the MR920 is based on
Doesn't the Randian Ramjet Afterburner compensated barrel have more hype and good reviews than the larger Shadow Systems Comp he mentioned? Seems like he just got a better comp and barrel that happens to be 50-state legal.
Do you have a build list of the parts you’ve added to this pistol?
Super easy: Holosun 407C x2, Overwatch Precision trigger, Radiant Ramjet/Afterburner and Surefire X300U-B light. (All described in the video too).
Can you put a gen 4 slide on a SS??
No idea, wish I could tell you. But if you did, you’d be losing out on some big benefits of the MR920 like the match barrel and of course the optic cut.
Premium tier glock and im here for it
Sons of Liberty Gun Works has the same warranty to replace the firearm if you were in a justified shooting I believe that they were the first ones to do that but still both are a stand up company
Do these take g17 and g19 mags
Yep, they sure do.
You get all those extra features over the Glock, but the main one is it’s made in the USA 🇺🇸
Arnt glocks in us made in Georgia oh snap us glocks are made in Georgia.
Cheaper to buy the P version with the comp than buy a Radian Ramjet.
Radian looks nicer and works better but not by much.
What mag is that?
@@Redz615 stock Glock 19 mag with a Glock +2 baseplate.
What mag extension is this?
@@porchjoe OEM Glock +2 mag baseplate
@@AtoZEDCreviews so its a Glock mag but what I’m asking is what brand is the mag extension and where can it be purchased?
@@porchjoe yes it’s a Glock magazine but I wasn’t referring to the magazine. I was answering your question directly. Glock manufactures the baseplate. I bought mine in a retail store, I’m sure you can order online from a dozen places.
Sorry, I misunderstood you. Thank you.
The 920p come with a clean as glass comp combined with the bronze barrel
Yes it does. I wish those were available back when I bought mine, but I’ve had this a long time, I think the MR920 had been out on the market for about a month or two when I bought it.
They have a separately sold comp that screws on the end of the threaded barrel.
@@richardj3715yes, and I don’t remember now if I spoke to this in the video, but I meant to: where I live now, we have stupid restrictions, so shadow systems wasn’t allowed to ship my order to me for the comp when I tried, so they had to cancel it.
The overwatch trigger made a huge difference in my MR920 you must’ve gotten a dud lol
How much it cost now?
The stock pistol at retail? Or are you asking what mine costs with the couple of upgrades I’ve done?
The Elite is still 989 from the retailers I checked, no price increase
Glock magazine is unheard of and I am shocked by this information
If you bought the war poet version from sportsman’s guide it will come with the holosun on it
Correct. For the same amount of money as I spent on this MR920 and the Holosun.
@@AtoZEDCreviews yes sir I love it
P365 is more modular, thinner, lighter, and cheaper. You also can buy grip modules that turn the P365 into 2.5 different guns. It also has the ability to add a thumb safety to it.
If you like concealing bigger firearms the MR920 is an excellent choice, but for me if a firearm is smaller and has the same capacity without any downsides it is superior.
@@seraph...4473 I agree. And my P365 and my P365 Spectre Comp also agree. But I didn’t want to get off into the whole compact vs Microcompact thing because my video was already too long lol
@@AtoZEDCreviews Thats completely fair, and some people prefer larger heavy firearms to reduce recoil. The point you made about Shadow Systems replacing a defensive use firearm is also super important.
Risen Gunworks has a better undercut but of course it's an aftermarket mod
I was just about to purchase one of these this week .......that is until I read all the negative comments about this firearm on many other UA-cam videos and the poor customer service in dealing with the mentioned problems!
No thank you!
Will go with Springfield arms or S&W
Stay safe everyone!
Where didnunread these
I did a deep dive before buying mine in 2020. Most people who had issues did not oil/lube and/or did not allow for sufficient break in period. I had zero issues.
Their customer service was superb when I requested for my trigger to be smoothed out. Was good, but I felt that it could have been more refined. Fast response times, quick processing time, and the trigger they sent back was incredible-definitive wall, crisp clean break.
M&P is great too, and that’s what my department issues. But I love my MR920. I prefer the Glock platform and SS does all the custom work I’d do anyways if I bought a stock Glock.
They literally come with different angle backstraps
Ok. You sound like you’re making an argument when nobody else is participating.
19:40 I definitely have a milled optic on a Glock 19 sitting lower on the slide than this pistol.
But I bet you have little baby screws like most optics use (and often shear).
@@JimSkeltonKnives Nah, cross bolt mount.
@@trevorj203 I’m not paid by anyone. My SS pistols run flawlessly, reliably and accurately.
@AtoZEDCreviews so your slide dose not move up and down when you take up the trigger? If so your the first one. Never said they weren't reliable that areca glock. They are not worth the m0ney and far from the best the carry gun
@@trevorj203 I don’t know how little experience you have, but this is not exclusive to SS pistols. Many pistols do the same thing, and it’s not something to be alarmed by.
Great video! However, I just sold mine after buying the BUL Armory Axe C Hatchet... It has almost all of the features of the MR920 (except for the optics mounting system and the night sights), although it does have a very low-cut RMR direct mount and steel (non-night) sights.
I keep waiting and trying, but I guess I’ll never own the Hatchet. Just like I’ve missed out on both versions of their comped SASII Lightweight. Never ever in stock, then each were discontinued. I am setup for restock email alerts but have never gotten one email. I guess I’ll never own a BUL.
@@JimSkeltonKnives The AXE FS HATCHET - SILVER is in stock right now. And I prefer the AXE FS HATCHET to the "C" model! Also, yes, I know that the BUL SAS II UL Comp 3.25" is hard to find. I got mine about 10 months ago, when they were consistently in stock...
Literally about to do the opposite... selling my Bul hatchet (despite the grip being onr of my favorite features) to get this gun.
For EDC shadow systems is a no. Quality control needs work and their customer service is terrible. Weird reliability issues on different batches which make it inconsistent.
@@jaimesalgado9666 historically, this isn’t true. I’m sorry if you had a bad experience, but gathering stories from owners online and from reviewers known for not taking $ for praise tells a different story. And while I only have a sample size of two with the pistols I’ve bought, I’ve had no issues to speak of.
Good point however for me it’s the inconsistency that bothers me
What the fuck did I hear in the beginning
😂
wait what??? if u use ur firearm to defend urself ur going to lose it even if ur 100% in the right??? i never knew that, thats so dumb... if i knew that i wouldnt of spent so much money on an optic and stuff on my carry. >.>
That is not 100% true
Ohh and i have about 2000 rounds threw it without a single problem
You can sit there and talk about Glock OEM mags all you want I've tested them all and until Glock recently came out with new stuff that's when it all went crappy the new OEM mags off the shelf for garbage yeah Magpul had issues with their first generation but the new second generation of pmags are completely fine and I will not use Glock OEM mags because they're garbage so sit there and say it's like you don't have anything to luck has to do with manufacturing tolerances parts availability quality control which obviously for Glock has dropped off because they're more concerned for developing some rifle instead of upgrading their pistols and innovating stuff like Shadow systems has
@@wintersoldier4335 oooookaaaayyyyy? You act like you’re in an argument or something.
Sorry you’ve had oddly bad luck. But your experience, like MY experience is anecdotal, period. Yet, HISTORICALLY, Glock OEM mags have been extremely reliable. I can say what I want and you can say what you want, but that won’t change the fact that imperial data points to them being reliable.
Just a fancy Dagher for 500 extra. No thanks.
Dagger
@@tremaineangus6474 LMAO. Yeah…. No. I have a Dagger (I wanted to do a budget build for fun), and they’re not comparable in the slightest. But you would know that if you had watched the video and listened to the features and benefits that I spoke about.
That’s a stupid statement don’t buy a great gun in case you have to use I want the best gun on my worst day
Well, the world is full of stupid people. They came out and voted in droves in 2020.
So yeah, plenty of people have said that stupid crap. I’ll never get it. Of course I don’t WANT to lose a couple thousand dollar gun, but I want the precision and reliability of that level of gun on the off-chance it needs to be called up to action.
Id rather build my owen out of a glock .
Why buy a $500 Glock when you can buy a $1000 clone?
I’m sure it’s a nice pistol.
Upgrading a standard Glock to this level (most of these are common mods Glock owners do), prices you about $300 more expensive than the MR920 Elite and on top of that, some things on this pistol can’t even be done on the Glock (such as the optics mounting setup)
@@JimSkeltonKnives I know dude. SS is Glock perfection “perfected.” I just think it’s funny. Building a G17 now and I’m already $1200 in. Hopefully somebody will make a ported and threaded barrel for the Gen 5 soon.
