Gavin is such a genius man. So much intelligence in the industry and beyond innovative. I'm a huge fan and just to hear him speak you know he knows the ins and outs of what's going on very, very well. I also think Kurt did very well, he's just being genuine and natural. He seems like he knows more than people here give him credit for. Keep up the good work to both of you guys.
Well, I spent a lot of money to buy a Model B, telling myself, "I'll never have to buy another high-end OTF." Now it looks like I have to spend a lot more money.
I regularly ride my motorcycle through their little mountain town and I always want to go near their property and yell, “I really love your knives!” or some such nonsense. Never thought I would fanboy so hard with a knife maker. lol
This really is a “grail” knife, and not just because of the solid lock-up. I have handled the Model B, and the smoothness must be felt, as the interviewer said. Most manufacturers will void your warranty if you take their knife apart. G&G Hawk send it with a tool! People say they would be afraid to use a Deadlock, but the OTF you can’t clean is the one you have to treat gingerly.
Kurt I'd love to see an update on your personal knife collection you've acquired its been awhile especially after blade show 2021 the fan boy you've shown during this we all know you've left with something special so show us
If you had the choice and regardless of price, would you pick Model B or Model C? And why? The B seems more of a collector and looker piece compared to the C. I like the carbon fiber scales with the titanium center frame. The B is substantial and chunkier than the C. The C is more refined but not crazy about the sticker like carbon fiber inlay.
They're not gonna do it. It's their design and their business. They will not go overseas made for these and there's no reason they need to be made for less than a grand. They are the pinnacle of OTF's and they're USA made, people know they're going to pay 3x the cost of a Microtech or Guardian Tactical, it's just the nature of what it is.
Check out the SOG Pentagon when it drops. It's supposed to lock up with no play like the Deadlock and has an MSRP of $380 I think. And still made in the USA
@@michaelfrinks4094 I’ve seen that. Strongly leaning towards getting one of those since this seems like it’s going to stay out of my comfortable price range for the foreseeable future. The lack of blade play is really the feature I’m most interested in for an OTF, I currently don’t have any others in my collection because the rattle would bother me
@@rudukai13 The rattle has never bothered me in the ones I've owned. But I've also never thought of any OTF as a real tool like my other knives. They've always just been the sharp and pointy equivalent of a fidget spinner to me. But if you actually intend on using it, I'm with you on it needing to lock up tight
Grant/Gavin: Will you guys do a titanium run of the model C at some point? I currently have a model B and C…would love a titanium C even if it’s significantly more expensive.
You can get a Microtech UTX- 85 for 250, or a Ultratech for about the same.. look around, bladeforums, reddit. Make a WTB Ultratech for around 200$ post.
That C model, I have not seen it it person but just seeing the video’s here on UA-cam and watching them over and over and stopping and play and stopping and play the clips until the battery dies and seeing where they came from I thought … he did it that’s the BEST pocket knife ever MADE then the different models and each time telling myself that’s the one the baddest MF’er out there and I NEED it and now again with the C ohhhhh MAN just hats off to You good sir You have most definitely out done Yourself once again. Very impressive and I am saving up for one I promise You that. You work is truly inspirational.
I have an unused and uncarried, pristine Model B, marbled carbon fiber with heat treated Titanium hardware I’m looking to get rid of, if you’re interested. I am also nearby you if you are in ny
@@Adamas11 I don't know how to answer that. I'm going to be making as many as I can. . . which will be more than the model B's. It seems like the more I make the more people want them. I'll be doing a drop in the next week, and I plan on taking a lot of orders. You should have a very good chance at getting on this first drop.
Get your act together BladeHq! No price no images of the knife up close this was a complete waste of 17 minutes. Get professional and get someone who can ask questions and talk on the same level as the person they are interviewing!
Love OTF's, BUT WHAT A WASTE OF A VIDEO! Watching almost all the way through and realize that they will not show the blade of the gold/carbon fiber OTF at all. WHAT A WASTE!
Maybe because it's the older model. I got an mailing list email from the Hawks just a couple of days ago saying that the last of the model B's are going up for sale immediately.

I know right. I am trying to hunt down a Model B. Seems like people are holding onto them. Rightfully so as they are discontinued. But I want one 😭
Great show guys!
Much love from Switzerland

Good stuff! I'm proud and feel privileged to be a owner.

Looking to get on a waiting list for a Model C. Any info. on that?

Pocket clip good idea
You guys are late to the party, but I actually enjoy the time frame. Gives longer time to digest the news and longer enjoyment of the show as well.

Hey man hear me out: guardian tactical/ hawk collab?
Is there an estimated price and release date?
Price is going to be 1k, and we will be opening up orders next tuesday 6/29/21 through our OTF newsletter.
What will the c model go for?
$1,000
@@blademaker25 well cheaper isn’t cheap is it? Will probably still be the first one I’ll try to pick up 🙃
When are they going to license it to a manufacturer so people can buy it for less than a grand?
I thought that they were going to do that with the Model C but apparently they are still going to do it in house for the foreseeable future.

Yes they are 🙌
I wonder if this will bring down the price on the Deadlock.
Ya right.. probably push the price up TBH.
Nope, going down to $1000 even
Is Gavin wearing a Serge watch?
Yes I am. . . Serge gave it to me. Its #000
I bet his slide button doesnt RATTLE, like a microtech. Theres always a pinnacle of quality. And someone will eventually achieve it.
Mr Hawke, have you looked into cerakote?
Yes I have. The problem with cerekote is the thickness. At some point I'll be releasing some dlc versions.
Wait why did you spell their last name wrong? It’s Hawk not Hawke
Yeah, wtf. . .
I want an otf so badly but man the good quality ones are way over $250

The knife is 141 grams so just under 5 ounces
How do i get one?
Good luck they are usually always sold out when the drop I hope I can get one mysef
Just put a standard deep carry pocket clip on it please
I hope i win the lottery cause that is really nice.

Yeah they’ve lost some of (maybe all) of the original crew.
