Got two of the Lynn Thompson DLC full serrated Vaqueros in XHP. Finally got my Black Talon 2 serrated in XHP. A favorite of mine, and the knew serrated Kris Ti-Lite is no joke. Cold Steel does have many to choose from. The Large Luzon is my favorite pocket sword. Steel Will has a winner with the Plague Doctor. Just a great knife for the money. Both guarantee that big blade smile!
haha thats funny because there is a completely unrelated plague doctor that is a holy grail of knives in my opinion. I wish it were in stock when I had the opportunity to buy it but it was sold out so I bought a couple Microtechs instead. Still would have preferred the plague doctor though. Wow after seeing the action on those washers im sold lol I need to buy me one I love a large blade too so its a no brainer. I hate that so many modern knives come on bearings lol I hate that $200 knives are on bearings when they should be on polished washers that still allow a quality action. I am impressed when I see a knife on washers with such a smooth action. Im not impressed when I see some $10 knife drop shut just because its on some bearing system that is loud enough for you to hear the bearings doing their thing as the blade is closing and opening. I bought a kizer gunhammer even though its on bearings and I dont regret it because it doesnt feel like a lot of bearing knives it is just incredibly smooth and I cant really tell the bearings are even there. Which I know you can sort of get that feeling on mid range bearing knives too but this is slightly different which it is probably due to the fact that the blade is just so beefy.
The Cold Steel Espada XL top line version is my largest folder. It fits nicely into my Duluth Trading Co. "Ballroom Jeans" with way deep "Firehose" fabric pockets!!!

David here a few big knifes that you could have included in this video ... The new CJRB Tigris (Which I have already earmarked as a Xmas present for my younger brother later this year) ... The new CRKT Ritual and the CRKT Jumbones ...
I have the Benchmade Adamas folder. Too large to be an EDC, but i have it strapped tonthr shoulder molles on my bug out bag. Bigger than a typical folder, smaller than a fixed. Thick and solid. Darn good knife.
Great presentation! This is the 1st video I watched from start to finish. I like the 4 inch flipper knives. My edc is a spyderco paramilitary with a 1/2 serrated blade and a light weight handle. I have warned people not to touch the serrations because the are wicked sharp! Some don't listen and are wearing bandaids!!! Keep these larger folders coming!
My voyager xl serrated tanto, is one of those knives that you don't know what jobs it's needed for, then you learn after a while it finds jobs for you.
Artisan proponant has a pin that screws in and locks it shut, maybe stronger than triad. Just think DCA should have mentioned it. Keep up the good work.
I’m a big fan of Cold Steel and Spyderco. I have 3 Cold Steel knives (Voyager Tanto XL, Spartan, OG Voyager Tanto) and 2 Spydercos (Delica & Harpy). My Delica is my EDC. Not surprised to see Cold Steel in a video on oversized pocket folders but I was surprised that the Spyderco Police Model did not make the list. It actually feels larger than a 4” blade and it’s definitely bigger than my 4” Cold Steel OG Voyager Tanto.
After I bought a Janich designed Spiderco Yojimbo 2, I found the Yojumbo, and just had to get it. I have not regretted it since. I want to get anodized titanium screws and deep carry clips for both knives, as they use the same hardware. The heavier blade just falls closed on the Yojumbo when I hit the compression lock. I like wharncliffes. These are particularly good for stabbing and slicing. I eventually plan on adding jimping on the top of the blade near the pivot. I recommend St. Claire's synthetic nano oil 10wt. to keep them smooth.
I waited so long for the Cold Steel Espada XL in S35VN to go in stock and when I ordered it last year I initially thought, "alright, that damn giant gimmick knife I wanted forever is now mine". When I got it in hand (polished G10 aluminium handles, I wouldn't accept another) I was (and still am) floored. It's just so over the top and such a stunner to show people, but at the same time the fact that it's built to literally destroy things is unreal.
Crkt ritual shouldve been there. I haven't found a more comfortable knife at that size. It's amazing. For 85 bucks. Also the cold steel sparta should've been there, & even though they didn't come out yet the kershaw strata xl also. 5.4" for 75 bucks...can't wait.
Is there anyway I can watch the downloaded movies from my external hard drive on my iPad? I connected with a micro B to USB C wire but when I click on any of the downloaded movies under the "Movies" file, looks like nothing there. Why is that? Is IPad can't recognize the format?
I like your style. No nonsense get down to the facts. Nice display of knives for this video. One suggestion I have is to clearly state the blade length up front. I live in an area where 3 inches is the limit. I believe you did do this, during each knife's presentation, but if not ... Thanks for the great video. Medford is missing??
I EDC a Cold Steel SR1 folder. The thing is massive and always gets a response from people when I whip it out to cut something. Not as fancy as some of those flippers though!
Great video topic! My two biggest knives are both 6 inch cold steels. The holdout 1 and the ti-lite kris. Do I need an espada xl? Nope. Would it be super cool to have one? Hell yes!
Do they make a smaller version of the Andre de Willie's battle cleaver that thing is sweeeeeeet but I'm not a fan of how big it is. Can anybody me know if there is a smaller version??
David, I have a good friend who is looking for a knife that he can carry with him at work. He works two jobs. One at a local brewery where he's cutting plastic pallet straps and boxes all day. The other, a part time construction gig. He says he would like something that doesn't draw attention but can be carried at work and used for both edc type tasks and utility. I have been into knives for most of my life but am a bit stumped on this one. His budget is around $150. Thanks
Cold Steel folders are always awesome and heavy duty. You forgot Spartan from Cold Steel. Proponent looks good as Bush Flipper, But... CRKT XOC is Fantastic and list of next purchase. Nice Vid 😎👍
Hi I know nothing about knives metal hardness, is there like a chart you can print out showing the scale from soft to hardest? Also love the T4000 cant afford it and if i broke the tip or damaged it, or worse, lost it... i think id cry...for a long time...Does anyone make one that looks somewhat similar for $20 to $40? I have a Gerber Freeman but damn the blade release takes 2 hands to push to close never seen one be so hard I may have a defective one AND it doesnt have a pocket clip it comes with a belt pouch.. I need to write Gerber and see what they say

The Plague Doctor isn't available in the 4 inch blade on the website anymore 😢
The cold steel recon 1 didn't make the list? I thought it looked like a cool knife, I was considering buying it.
Cold Steels Luzon 6 inch too
Thats exactly what I need in my Pocket! No little crab, I need big heavy blades!
Loving it David, loving it surprised not to see medford's
Super fun video! Thanks guys! That ADV is freaking EPIC
That halfbreed will be my next knife…good lord that thing is beautiful 😍
Nice, i recomended this topic on another video in the comments a couple videos back, glad you finally made a video about the biggest folders!
This is probably THE MOST entertaining edition yet! I was like WTH several times. One of them looks dangerously close to a MSK-1. Tempting....
Yeah the espada doesn’t come in aus10 anymore? And I almost pulled the trigger on one but I read a lot of reviews saying that they were garbage?
I EDC a Cold Steel SR1 folder. The thing is massive and always gets a response from people when I whip it out to cut something. Not as fancy as some of those flippers though!
What knife was in the thumbnail? It was blue titanium handle and a dama blade
Great video topic! My two biggest knives are both 6 inch cold steels. The holdout 1 and the ti-lite kris.
Do I need an espada xl? Nope. Would it be super cool to have one? Hell yes!
I want a tri lite, I have the 6 inch Luzon and love it
@@francismartino6890 The luzon is on my wish list. Cool looking knife.
Do they make a smaller version of the Andre de Willie's battle cleaver that thing is sweeeeeeet but I'm not a fan of how big it is. Can anybody me know if there is a smaller version??
Yes! Been waiting for this one. Thanks so much!!! 💪
I really want the opinel no. 13 blade but with about 4-5 inches of tang so I could make a custom bowie knife with it
Caffeine Father
They appear to be currently out of production 🙁.
Thanks
Marfione & DC Sigil MK6! Love the knives, great group. Maybe a DPX for the over built tank aspect.
The Proponent is like those $9 utility blade flippers from the hardware store, just 4X as big and made of titanium and $215. Seems reasonable.
DCA, thanks for sharing. Love all the videos, great work.
Cold Steel folders are always awesome and heavy duty. You forgot Spartan from Cold Steel. Proponent looks good as Bush Flipper, But... CRKT XOC is Fantastic and list of next purchase. Nice Vid 😎👍
The tanto tops and CRKT deadbolt lock knife need smaller 3.25/3.5in edc versions be sweet
19:58 Cutless point?
Hi David I own one of those Hogue knives and was very disappointed! It did not come sharp at all. Then to try to sharpen it was such a task!
I like that Viper knife
I thought the Sheepdog XL was large. That Espada is HUGE!
I've seen one in person. A friend has one. It's truly a pocket sword.
Do you really need the pocket clip though?
Seems kind of ridiculous to have one. Who’s carrying that in their pocket?
I thought for sure the sheepdog xl would be on the list.
Me too.
What's the small purple knife in the thumbnail ?
Finally some knives to fit David C. Anderson's 🐻🐾
Cold Steel Rajah?
Sweet picks... The Manix 2 XL should be on the list.
Jeo Tec,s makes a solid blade much like the 4 Max, the hole @ the bottom has a pin to make it fixed!
I have owned about three ti- lite 12in and man, everyone’s disappeared except for the newest fourth member. Love them but ungodly in the pocket! 😂
Rajah 2 and 3, would have been a perfect fit
Price on the bench made adamas and the ke kukri?
Hi I know nothing about knives metal hardness, is there like a chart you can print out showing the scale from soft to hardest? Also love the T4000 cant afford it and if i broke the tip or damaged it, or worse, lost it... i think id cry...for a long time...Does anyone make one that looks somewhat similar for $20 to $40? I have a Gerber Freeman but damn the blade release takes 2 hands to push to close never seen one be so hard I may have a defective one AND it doesnt have a pocket clip it comes with a belt pouch.. I need to write Gerber and see what they say
Kershaw NATRIX XL.?
