- Hydro dipping is a cool way to transfer color to your bike and parts. You need only a bucket or box of water and solvent color to do the hydro dip. I diped some bike parts like a handle bar, stem and seat post. Please find some material I used in the description below:

That's what I love about you and makes the difference between a professional and a DIY , adjusting the material so that you don't have to touch it with your hands leaving parts uncovered, so many make this mistake. i'm just a DIY too but watching videos taught me a lot before doing it myself, learning from other people's mistakes is a must so you don't do it yourself.
Holy... first time I saw can hydro dip the whole thing in 1 shot. Never see someone as professional as you, keep it up! 👍🏻👍🏻
This is brilliant and brought back memories of playgroup as a kid . I remember creating pictures on paper using an oil based paint using a very similar technique . Adding colours and swirling them together .
Etoe, take it up a notch. I wanna see you hydro dip a whole bike frame!
Daaaang...you are really a professional painter and sprayer, Alhamdulillah i found your videos.., Thank you for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No matter what you do, etoe design is gonna make it in HIGH QUALITY
Professional!
I went out yesterday and got a bike from Offer up! It's a fixer upper bike but I'm excited to paint it and just ordered soo many items from Amazon. Thank you for inspiring me to be creative with my bike!
your work is amazing! i love watching your videos! I have been painting since i was 15. I'm 37 now! I keep learning, and you have taught me things i never thought i needed!
Only ever seen this done with pre printed sheets and kind of one-shot per piece.
Never even considered it could be done like this. Super cool, and the way the tissue paper just sucks up all the paint is amazing.
Did you never do the similar thing at you first school blowing the paint colours around in swirls and then using paper to catch the paint ? it brought back some memories watching this :)
Thanks, Martin! I've been all over the internet trying to find a reliable guide for a high quality finish, or let a lone a good looking result in the first place. You're definitely a cut above everything else I've found.
Two questions:
1. You made this video 3 years a go and I'm sure you've learned a lot. Would you do anything differently if you were to hydrodip now?
2. Are any of the steps different if I'm dipping plastic? I assume I'll need a primer for plastic but otherwise the steps should remain the same, yes?
Thanks!
It's so good.
How can i on aluminum?
I have a specialized allez 2013. The paint isn't exactly messed up but there are some noticeable cracks and chips in the paintwork. I want to spray paint the frame celeste and the decals matte gray.
Dude i love the way you throw those things in the air xD
Damn, they are so cool!
Next video would be awesome to see camo painting 😍😍
Hi Martin, it really looks like you had a lot of fun in this video! I also enjoyed it. You really cover so much if not all we need to know about cycle painting! Machs gut
Dude you are amazing. Thanks again. And I really really appreciate your professionalism and dedication to supreme quality. There is nothing else that is acceptable.
Great Video and thanks for the effort to Show all the Details that Matters!
Hello friend ... greetings from Venezuela --- I have seen almost all your videos and they seem great, especially this one, since I do hydrography here in my workshop ... oeri I want to ask you something ... what kind of painting you used ?? water-based acrylics? To kiss oils or could I use any spray paint or automotive paint ??? Thanks in advance..
You are the best! How i wish i could have my bike custom painted by you!
Love your videos 🙌🏻 thanks for showing what you know and trying out things, as they say, it inspires us 👌🏻
Thanks! This is great! Is it practical to do this for a whole frame? Or does the size and corners just make it too difficult to get a good finish?
Thanks. 👌
Amazing, does this work on steel too?
Can you use any car rattle can spray paint for the hydrographics to stick to?
Big fan from Philippines!
Lovely chorizo theme paint!
Amazing video. Can the same process work on aluminium. Thanks
is it same procedure for alloy too
i did not know this was possible. really good work, thank you for sharing. amazing!
Thank Sir for nice Idea

This is paint dipping. Hydro dipping is where a film is put on water that has a inked design. Also called water transfer printing.
This IS a film being put on water(hydro) which is transferred to complex shapes that are dipped in. The design being transferred doesn't matter, it can be a screen printed design or swirls like this. This is hydro dipping. Paint dipping would be dunking the parts in a bucket of paint or something.
I thought hydro meant water? Not film.
@@Egypticus the term hydrodipping is a nickname for the process, the correct term is water transfer printing, when you just use spraypaint in water it's called paint dipping. This video shows him dropping paint into the waters surface, and swirling it around. Again water transfer printing utilizes a printed design and a chemical transforming said design into floating ink so it will transfer to painted parts. That's the reason for hiring professionals to do water transfer printing.
you are the best, and the channel the most complete and pro
Is it a good idea to paint on a position where hoods should be and where stem clamps? I got feeling that on a bumps everything will move and paint will be scuffed
My girlfriend Sandy was offended by your sanding joke. I told her she was being a bit rough about it.
Hope you managed to smooth things out with Sandy.
She'll get some more grit with time. Then things won't be so abrasive.
I laughed more than I should have lol

your work is therapy for me...thank you
Came out pretty. Orange marble!
would this work on a bike with the simple spray painting method of hydro dipping?
hi bro!
I'm your korea fan😆
Respect You!!
Hope you guys dont get more cultists presidents, greetings!
Such a perfectionist !
Hi Martin, great job.
What type of Clear Primer did you use? You said it sticks better, and is thicker than standard clear coats. Ideal for getting a pro smooth finish.
If I missed it, please forgive me. Hundreds of comments...
what handle bar is that?? looks super cool!
if there's a bubble just use torch or heat gun but flame torch is much better to remove those bubbles
Any tip on how to properly fix chips on a Matte paint?
whoa the mic is picking up your heart beat dude!
Refreshing "How to " video , This guy is good
What grit sand paper? Is it done went sand before clear
Hi Martin!
Going to behydrodipping my fork and stem. I am using all the products you listed in your description for the DIY steps, the spray max 2k primers and clear coats and the humbrol enamel paints. For smoothing the paint after dipping I know you used a professional carbon primer, but for DIY you hadn’t indicated any step for smoothing. Is it okay to do several coats of 2k clear coat, sanding in between, to create a smooth finish? Or should I look for spray a clear carbon primer or clear intercoat like from house of Kolor to achieve the same smooth finish? I intend to lay a logo before the hydro dip. Likely to spray the logo, then mask over the logo before dipping to avoid color under the hydrodip and not having a significant spot of unevenness.
What band are you using for the music?

Excellent. Any videos on painting a steel frame?
I love your videos. I got inspired by your videos and recently painted my road bike in cadmium red with silver glitter on top. It looks amazing, but I couldn't achieve a high glos finish. For some reason, neither the primer, nor paint, nor clear coat wanted to be wet sanded and would just start washing away. What did I do wrong?
Do you sand after priming
Can you do the same with spray cans?
Dude you are just too cool for school
This guy might be the most talented artist I've seen, but his damn voice though...... I end up just muting, and can enjoy the art in peace.
What products and what ya mean by transparent primer? Clear coat?
It's always a great video. However I am wondering who would paint this awesome seat post....
That is definitely awesome! Can the dipping technique be used on a bicycle helmet as easily?
whether the water should be hot or cold?
Thank you Martin. Another amazing insight into what you do best. Thank you for the tutorial and the inspiration. You Rock Sir!!!
Stunning results... thank you for sharing this beautiful pudding in the wall.
I wasn't feeling any of it until 14:46... wow! that is nice!
Also where can i get the transparent primer.
Hey MARTIN, will the 2k clear from the aerosol can stick to raw steel?
Martin, you are outdoing yourself at an amazing rate! This was super fantastic. Can you tell us more about the "transparent primer" you mentioned spraying over the dipped color before sanding and applying the final clear coat? Thanks!!
Yes where do you find a clear primer I can't find one anywhere
I just love how happy you are all the time. :)
Hi, is madone do the marble paint same as this way?
The perfectionist....brilliant ...
Can you hydro dip mudguard
Brilliant! Keep on posting more please!
Hi Martin, could you please make a video about hydro dipping a whole bike frame and forks? I'm sure there are many who would want to see that.
Thank you!
Yes next Summer in the swimming pool.
@@ETOE Ok guess you didn't want to use it for swimming in the summer lol
Hi Im from Turkey.you are wonderful.I follow up you.and I painted three bicycle thanks to you.
You haven’t said much about how to smooth things out and to make a nice smooth clear finish on the object. And I can’t find anywhere how to FINISH the pieces, how to smooth them out and make them look professionally painted.
Hi I'm getting quite alot of bubbles in the paint when I'm dipping. I'm using only cheap gloss spray paints to try it but yeah lots of bubbles . Any idea on the cause of this
Yes cheap gloss spray paint is the reason.
@@ETOE acyrilic paints will work better then.. does the water temperature matter . Thanks for your reply 👍 winter rebuilds coming up and I wanna make my full sus look awesome for next season
Could you explain the transfer primer that you use which enables you to sand down smooth and apply clear coat?
Do you mean "transparent" primer? I want to know more too!
Sorry I meant the transparent primer. I have not seen or heard of this before ( no expert like yourself). Do you use it just like normal primer? Thank you.
Thank you so much for the videos dud .... respect from 🇲🇦
Same process for alloy parts?
What are your views on other bike customisation by squid bikes
did you just use water in the bucket just water?
Yes water.
Hello Martin, is possible from spray paints ???
Amazing job👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hugs from 🇧🇷.
Not like this way.
Please Martin, make a video for us using spray paint, if possible of course.
Thanks.
Will the seatpost still go into the frame ?
Please check this video to prove it:

Wery inspiring!
Gonna try this.

Ska du försöka själv eller vet du något ställe som fixar?
Kommer att läsa på och försöka själv. Lär man sig detta går det att göra mycket roligt då jag både håller på med cyklar och bilar.
Roligt med något som man blir unik med.
Im Sanding my Bike While Im watching this
💚
Getting inspired as well i see
lol me too...
it was outstanding when i done it to my BMX .. looking forward for more vids.. keep it up sir
I asked my girlfriend Sandra if she'd like to sand my parts but she said no, so then I told my wife my girlfriend had said no and to my surprise she said she'd be more than happy to do it! Sadly however, the end result is that now my bibshorts fit funny and I can't ride more than 10m before I'm in terrible pain and have to get off the bike - so my question is: what grit sandpaper should she have used again? ;) Great video though, you've done a fantastic job and the parts look stunning! Bravo!
Same grit as the toilet paper in Buckingham Palace.
@@ETOE Hahaha - thank you! That explains why they're always smiling :)
Could someone please tell me what is the title of the song

You can use what ever you like.
@@ETOE but how much spray paint we have to spray can u make a video for the i am your biggest fan from india I followed your from last 3 years and i learn many thinga from you because of your videos I’m finally trying to repaint my mtb
@@kartik7850 as much as you like.
top notch work, would love to se it on the bike.
Great job buddy
U crazy man! Excelent job, when are you gonna use plasti dip???
i suspect the main reason you need to paint your bike parts all the time is because you don't seem to be able to pick anything up without throwing it in the air. must cause a few chips in the paintwork ;)
Very interesting. Love your videos man. Keep up the hard work 💪👍
that looks sick!

What’s the handlebar brand?
great job! thanks for sharing your expertise!
