    I didn't know there was such a thing as polystyrene primer; I always just mask super carefully! Will defo get some next time I'm doing this style of helmet! Awesome result BTW Martin.

    Great video! If you were doing a solid white paint for the helmet (cover and styrofoam as well) would you just cover up the plastic parts and prepare + primer + paint + finish everything?

    Was ich ebenfalls richtig gut finde. Die Links für EU und US. Eigentlich kaum der Rede wert aber sowas machen auch nur wenige.
    Die Sicherheitshinweise und das Beispiel ist sehr hilfreich , es gibt sicherlich viele die genau dort ihren Helm zerstören .
    Das Ergebnis ist wie immer ein absoluter Hit!

    Awesome Martin always wanted to know what it took to paint a helmet. To get a Matte finish just use a Matte clear?

    I love the bike and bike accessories painting videos. I just bought the SWorks Mirrow Saddle and it only comes in black. However, I would love to have it in a deep cherry red. It was made via 3D printing, so can it be painted? I am concerned that the rubbing and normal stretching of a saddle may not permit custom painting. What are your thoughts?

    Newbie question: doesn't the finished "shell" of the helmet already protect the polystyrene? Is the primer really required if you only want to paint a small portion of the helmet?

    Considering that helmet shell is plastic, would it be better to use plastic primer, or is the Polystyrene better choice for piece of mind?

    Martin I just saw this explanatory video of you how to paint a helmet, but I have a Styrofoam Helmet, but there is one but its mark is as if it were glued with a type of plastic only that I would like to paint the Styrofoam now without attacking the Styrofoam of Capecete, applying Primer would be a good protection before applying the paint, what can you do about it?

    I noticed you always sand the primer in your other videos. The polystyrene primer does not need to be sanded first before applying color ?

    Do i need the primer before the paint to protect it, or only masking with tape is enough to protect the foam of the helmet?

    How much time do you allow between coats before applying masking on top of the fresh paint? I've had an issue with paint sticking to the masking tape when peeling it off and I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.

    Great video, and very informative! Heres a question. I want to paint my helmet the same color as my bike frame, can i use a spray paint for bicycles on top of the polystyrene primer, or do i have to use specific paints from the same brand as the primer??

      You have to use paints which fit the shell of the helmet.

      No the AC colors stick without sanding.

    If you don't want to mask the inside of your helmet just stuff it with a towel or a rag of some sort. It worked good for me!
