I think the three pony tail cut is a game changer for long hair that needs shape. This would look wonderful on someone who has really thick hair. Good job. Thanks for the tutorial.
As someone with medium length, thick, slightly wavy hair, I agree. I've tried the two-pony tail cut before, it looked off and needed extra attention to shaping and thinning. But sectioning the hair in threes and doing it as he has instructed (even with regular scissors) REALLY made the result more decent with about 5 times less effort.
Easy instructions. Thank you. I am cutting my girlfriends hair as she is undergoing radiation treatments. I pray it makes her look & feel so much better about herself.
Thats so sweet , and i wish you guys good luck
Best of luck to both of you! 🥰
I am 55, I have cut my hair recently, trying out different ponytail methods, this is by far the best, getting my hair even when putting in sections is the hardest “part”. I use a wall mirror, bathroom vanity mirror and a rat tail comb…I cut straight across each end section and then I thin the ends out…if you don’t thin the ends out by point snipping your ends will look blocky/choppy. I don’t like that look, I like blended layers. The end result is really flattering to my face, like I have a double chin and middle age spread on my face and this cut is very good for me, it actually brings out my cheekbones and my hair doesn’t look too structured or formal, I like softness and movement and this has it all. I am bookmarking this one, as I will definitely be doing it again. Just make sure you have the right tools (they need to be sharp!) and you have at least two mirrors, I have a wall mirror that swivels out and it helps a lot when looking at the sides of the head and part of the top to check for evenness. Try this, if done correctly , it will fall perfectly and you will save so much money too with just a little time and patience!
This is great to hear! I'm going to give it a go. I'm nervous because I have waist length thick wavy/curly hair. I'm also a bit scared and trying to decide if I should upgrade my scissors first. It sounds kinda crazy but I have thinning shears for grooming my standard poodle and was considering trying those on an inconspicuous section to see if it would work.
It's too thin on the ends.
There's no clarity as to what length to cut each one of the ponytails. Same length? Graduated lengths? Ugh
If you look at how he’s cutting with every over directed section he’s using the front triangle section as a guideline and matches the back two to that first section so the first section is however much you want to cut off and that will be the guideline for the rest of the sections, hope it helps! 😊
Agreed
It’s just up to you
This is the first time I have seen this with 3 ponytail. I really like the finish.
I’ve been trimming my own hair for about 1-2 years now because stylists kept cutting off too much when i was trying to grow it out. I have fine, wavy/curl medium length. Today i tried this and the only difference i did was make the 3rd pony tail a little longer than the second one to keep my length. But very happy with it!! Thank you. It gives it alot of flow then having only one layer
Thanks for that suggestion...now I wanna try it.🙂💖
Do you mean that you placed the rubber band for your 3rd pony tail over the 1st & 2nd pony tails?
What I love about this method is that the layers blend really well. No need to point cut around the hair. You just need to blend in the front. I thinned 30% to maintain some weight but it took out the bulk. Blow drying using the Bondi blowout brush is super easy and quick now. Looks like I just walked out of the salon. Thank you! Best tutorial.
My husband did this on my long hair. It turned out amazing with lovely layers and it makes a nice pony tail. We are saving the video. Thank you so much .
I'd like to SEE the CUT. front and back before curling.
I've been trimming my hair this way for the last year while growing out my blonde.
Works well! I get a lot of compliments ☺️
Thank you.
I did this this morning only I have mature hair so I blunt cut it and did a little point cutting in the ends. It turned out absolutely fantastic !!!!!! Thank you !!!
What does mature hair mean?
@@JB-tt6ct post menopause because menopause affects the thickness of each strand and hair thickness overall plus if you’re like me you are colouring it so that affects the hair as well. Plus as we age there is less body in our hair.
@@ladyluck5248 oh tnx for the info. I would never guess you're at that stage by your profile pic
@@JB-tt6ct I’m not that old. I went into menopause due to trauma …… hey stuff happens.
@@ladyluck5248Does menopause make each strand thicker or thinner?
I just did this haircut on myself but a good bit shorter cause my hair is super thick and heavy and I needed to lose some volume. I really like the way it turned out. Will recommend.
Same here, i have thick long wavy hair and worked wonderfully for me… never returning to a salon
Just tried this on my thick hair but just cut each end straight and heavily point cut it.
Turned out really well!
Used straight scissors and it turned out beautiful.
❤ Thanks so much Matt! Great, easy layered long haircut! Really helpful! 🙏
ends looks so thin
Just finished cutting it just as, I love thinning shears - the best tutorial I've seenthus far and my hair looks hella beautiful- thank u!!
Wow! I love how your hands work flawlessly at cutting hair.
It looks great as an end result but you don’t explain how to do it. Are you cutting each ponytail to the same length so the match?
I have thick wavy hair and this haircut worked perfectly fine for me. I simply love my hair after this cut and also I love the fact how simple, quick and easy this tutorial is. I am never returning back to my hairstylist lol 😅
The video was moving a little fast for me so I decided to watch it on half speed. I couldn’t stop laughing because you sounded hammered! Haha! But the haircut was a success so thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial! I just did it on myself and turned out great, I didn’t cut too much because I was scared, but the technique worked very well.
I am going to try this, I just purchased shears from Amazon. I know Amazon are not going to be the best but I am not a professional and I haven’t cut my hair in years (like 25 or more). I will update when I get the shears from Amazon and do the cut!
Thanks its really inspired for Those who wants mastered haircut trends
Thank you sir! My hair so gorgeous right now. Thanks for saving my beauty and my money 😂❤
I cut my daughters hair yesterday using yr video and it looks amazing, wow❤
Thank you so much for making it so simple to understand and for the camera angles to help with understanding the cut better.
just did this with my daughters help and i love it! thank you
used this to give myself some extra layers as got a haircut that was too boxy and just kinda went through with the thinning scissors not too much really randomly over each chunk of hair and it looks fantastic. took 5 mins
Thanks alot 😊 i cut my hair for a few years now and this was perfectly done with your video ! I have thick hair so the texturizing scissor was the cherry on top .. i use to just cut then after using the texturizing scissor
This guy is my idol.
I'd like to see this done with regular hair cutting scissors if at all possible??
Absolutely gorgeous, love it 😍 😍 😍
Thanks so much 😊
Hi! I just did this, and it worked beautifully. I did an extra section because my hair was past my butt. I love it! I don't know how to style it or the products to use since I have a reaction to most things. I'll look around and see what I find. Thank you. ❤😊
I have very sensitive skin and scalp and use Everescents organic/natural range with no issues.
salt water and a little jojoba oil with a scent if you like - i hate all products
I love it.
Wow nice job I'm not a pro but went to Cosmo school and that was well done and I'm going to give it a try at home I do have my own sheets but I prefer the point cutting and slide cutting however I could just as well use a razor too but I'll probably cut to length then point cut to get the texture and the weight !! Thank you!❤
Wow I really liked this so pretty and simple.
Why would you use thinning scissors on already fine/thin hair?
Me too! This worked great!!
The thinning shears are giving early aughts scene hair. I always hated how a majority of those cuts ended up looking like dry straw. This look isn’t it, imho, but I appreciate the content nonetheless.
This is my favorite haircut of all time ❤
gonna do this for myself
What an artist you are
Wow, bellissima tecnica per un risultato spettacolare 🤩
How would you adapt this for someone with a side parting?
Beautiful ❤
Thank you for this! I followed your instructions exactly and it turned out beautifully!
Thank you for this!!!
I’m doing this on my Barbie 😂
Wonderful! I will try it on my hair!
Muy bello lindo corte gracias bendiciones abundantes
Will you make a video for big forhead, ( both side hair shape V hair lost or less ) so try to save those area too
I want to try this for my birthday 😊
I had my hair cut at ulta, I asked for layers and the stylist did it with a razor and then thinned my hair out so with the shears, I didn't realize how much she thinned it out until she was done and my hair was so much less thick on the ends, I cried when I got home. 😪
Stretch for back pain
Love this technique 👌
Thank you so much for sharing this technique ❤
This is awesome and my go to technique 💜 thank you!!!
Que gran ayuda y cada palabra es verdad muchas gracias .me sirve mucho y es lo que necesito.un abrazo . Juan Manuel de Los Ángeles Chile ❤
I have really thick coarse wavy hair. Thinning scissors make my hair look fried on the ends. Should I just point cut?
Can you use regular cutting scissors and cut straight across? Or do you have a video of that same cut using a different method?
I wanna have my hair cut 😄 Please come and do it
I love it! I want it! ❤
great job, look how I can do it!)😉
Beautiful!
Maravillosa,fuerte abrazo desde Argentina.
You made this look so easy. I'm about to buy those and ruin my hair. Its been so long that it has grown out all the way down to my bum. Wish me luck.
Que prancha é essa,alguém sabe o nome? achei o máximo 🎉🎉🎉😂❤
short and easy tutorial,
Wow i love it
Amazing!!!
Exceptionally good work❤
Superrr 👍👍👍👍🌺.Thank you very much from Italy
Lot of thanks! I've tried it and turned out stunning!
Gorgeous
Thos is hilarious to me. Thos is totally a late 70's early 80's cut!
I like the overall technique, but I would’ve liked to see fuller ends.
I like layers but I don't like thin wispy hair at the bottom.
Thats my problem too. I just select smaller portions of hair at the top
Boah, hat geklappt. Danke dafür! 🙂
Doing this hair cut to myself
❓ Question ❓ can you cut the second ponytail, you're over directing it are you making it match the length of the front ponytail?
Marvelous! ❤❤❤
I really need to get me some thinning shears with how thick and course my hair is
thank u
I love it.. congratulations❤😊
I absolutely love your work that haircut is🔥🔥 I want to learn more from you.
Why do you use thinning shears when none of us have that use your scissors instead?
Wow very nice 😊
Thanks for easy as fuck tutorial. I will use this at Ozzi's Saloon here in Haugesund Norway ;)
Love it. Thank you
Trying this tn🎉
Can I do this on a side parting? Or does it need to be a middle parting
I would like to know this too. Could someone pls elaborate?
