Greetings from Canada. I am 56 years old. My dad had a 1978 New Yorker Brougham. It was Dove Grey with matching interior, and grey vinyl top. My brother and I were teenagers and learned to drive in that car, and cruise in that car. You cannot beat a hard top for cruising. I recall it had pretty good torque and could get moving, nicely. Dad and the car are long gone. The front seat we put in his1974 Ford highboy 4x4. We use it as a plow truck, now. The seat reminds us of our dad, and that car. From watching a lot of restoration videos, cables in the engine bay can (and must) be easily replaced if they have been gnawed through or the insulation has perished. As I see it the next biggest threat is from the ones behind the dash and instrument cluster - and judging by the videos showing mouse nests in the glove compartment I would regard any evidence of that, as a warning to investigate behind the dash. Restorers of 70s or earlier cars probably have it easy compared to ppl repairing newer ones who will also have to deal with bad capacitors in the engine management circuit board. A bad capacitor can cause as much damage as a rodent if it leaks. Shango066 has some videos in which he repairs that type of damage.

Love this video! Your entire family is a joy to watch. With all the toxic videos out there, one tunes into your channel and comes away with a positive vibe!
My brother had one it was a Plymouth fury it was a two-door 440 engine and he didn't want it. That little tiny cars with 4 cylinder engines were fast so we let him think that so he sold it , the gentleman that bought it from him came in real quick I mean he wanted it bad and he loved that car apparently Chrysler took people off of their assembly line that had been at it for twenty-five years before they would let him operate on the line for the Chrysler fury on the assembly line for that Chrysler car that you have those guys had to have understanding and knowledge and they did it it was a labor of love is what I'm trying to say the guys that were on the line work for Chrysler on other line for 25 years and these guys that fills these Furies back then didn't it was a labor of love. I want to thank you for your videos you guys are a lot of fun to watch your funny your are hard workers thank you very much for everything that you guys do it's a lot of fun.
Chrysler New Yorker Brougham. Brougham is one of those English words that you can't sound it out. It's not "bro-ham", it's pronounced "brome, rhymes with home". Excellent work on the cleanup job. I'm impressed that Ralph figured out the jack on his first go. I wonder if he would figured out how to lower the car on his own. Are you home yet?
This is a great car. You all need to definitely take the windshield and back glass out and fix around it and reseal them. They just don't make them this good any more. Excellent video you guys. God bless you all and have a blessed end of the week.
Love you guys thank you for the wonderful family content all the animals just makes my day to watch your videos. I was raised up in a broken home and never had a father. These videos mean the world to me.
That Chrysler New Yorker. Awesome automobile. Late 70s was the end of an era for the luxury automobile. Those are one cars would like riding on a cloud
I love all of the personalities of your family. Each one of the kids have their own dynamic. You and Tosh have done a great job raising your children. I look forward to every video and it feels like a letter from home. Love all you guys. Keep up the good work.
I’ve been watching you guys for a while now. I love the fact that the whole family gets involved with the projects. Reminds me of my dad and I working on the family cars…. More necessity than revival, but whatever. Keep up the good work!
Be gentle with the old girl! Treat them right and she will always bring you home. Just acquired a 1977 Chrysler Town & Country Hearse, and believe me parts are hard to find. Like the Corinthian leather joke, I had a 1980 Cordoba and every time I went to part stores people would do their best Ricardo Montalban impression, I would say ha ha very funny like I never heard that before! Other then that, good video nice to see another "C body on the road again."
I love this channel! Another awesome video. Personally, I’d fix that cool old gal up and use it as a going to town rig! It’s really too nice to part it out.
Love the work the kids do and the fact that you ask their opinion often. Great family! The animals also add the icing on the cake! Thank for all the work. 😃
Do not get rid of that beautiful car ! It is a keeper ! All the electrical connections probably corroded. Clean them up and power windows, seats, etc. will probably work. Loved both vids of this car ! Cheers from Western Australia !
That's a fine going-to-town rig! I would love to see more content on this car in the future as far as a long term budget family cruiser project. Patch the holes. Plasti-dip the roof. Cheap and easy. A little something once every month just to keep the interest up.
I am automotively in love with this Bro Ham. A cadilac of this era couln't be any better. I still really like your Stude Land Cruiser as well, Being a Studebaker an Hudson guy. And, your family is in fact an great example of a committed Christian family God wants us to be. Thank you for your example.
Man that New Yorker cleaned up really good man. I remember those tire jack back in the day. You all did a great job on it. You & your family have a good weekend.
I’m actually really liking the idea of painting the top. The red would REALLY make it POP! I was gonna suggest rattle can it but your wife’s idea is probably better
You just gotta keep that car intack. Its from a bygone era that will never be repeated. Its in remarkable good condition and you have the skills to restore it. Please do that for the love of history.
I remember being in 6th grade and the lady who gave me a ride home after school was a cop who worked nights and also did the training for pursuit and evasive driving. One time me & my best friend Jon were in the back seat of her clapped out old blue Caprice & she asked us if she had ever been up on 2 wheels, we thought she was messing with us until she used a curb and got that blue beast up on both right side wheels for a full block. No seatbelts and the door latch was broken, never been so scared in my life trying not to fall out of the door. But after we got done screaming in terror we were too busy grinning ear to ear! Was reminded of that watching y'all blow around in the field having fun. Chrysler had the best seats in the business, btw. Ex-Chrysler employee I had as a customer for a few years had a 1 owner 1987 Fifth Avenue, blue/blue leather, plush blue carpet, like 20k miles (this was in 2002) and he let me drive it. SO freaking comfortable, but the steering was indeed "one finger heavy." Same fella had a 1-owner '71 Challenger 340 in his garage too, green with an auto, but said he'd never sell that either.
Amazed how well the car cleaned up and I look forward to seeing this on the road again.. As a fan of 1970s US crime series (Police Woman, Streets of SF, etc) i have ended up acquiring an appreciation of these massive land-barges. This particular model was usually driven by the villains BTW and for some reason the ones supplied to film companies never had good shock absorbers. Which might explain why they usually crashed or were crashed into or shot up. I would never return to the days of carbs, coils, distributors and engine-driven fuel pumps, but would love to have one of these with an electronic ignition system, for my daily driver. But only with the original exhaust system and an understanding bank manager. When you do get it going can you show the headlights being switched on with the covers retracting, as I have yet to see that happening. Same for the lights being switched off. My current car is a Citroen C1 Mk2, only available in Europe and S.Africa from what I can determine. It is not much bigger than the old Mini and I can hand wash it with a sponge and a 10 litre bucket of water with car shampoo/wax followed by 10 litres of clear water. I expect your jet-wash machine used more fuel than the car used in the last 20 years lol. Wa-wa did an excellent job operating it.
You have succeeded in bringing another great video to all your subscribers. I always enjoy watching you and your family work together. Thank you for all the enjoyment you bring. God bless you all.

You folks are so much fun to watch. It’s good to see the whole family working together on a project, with the kids being allowed to jump in and help out. Too many parents don’t have the patience to work with them. What going to happen when each of them hits the “Mom and Dad are the stupidest people on earth” stage?
I really enjoyed watching this video. This car clearly has a lot of life left in it and is worth keeping. I can't wait to see what y'all will do with it next.
God Bless the Land Yahts!!...I cannot begin to tell you the amount of time and good memories I have had in one of these exactly like this as a teenager. The glorious harmless trouble and chaos that happened on the back country roads cruisin in one of these things...I was smiling ear to ear as watched yall wash this classy lady. I would tell ya but this is a family channel!! And I wouldnt want to give the kids any ideas!! LOL Thanks for the trip down memory lane guys. She is a beauty and oh what I would give to have 1 more cruise with my buddies in one of these. Thanks yall.
I was brought home from the hospital in a 1975 Valiant Brougham 2-door Hardtop. Burgundy velour bucket seat interior, burgundy exterior, white vinyl top & wire wheels. My mom had fallen in love with the dealer demo car. Our Valiant had every accessory except A/C and the sunroof. 318, Power Discs, Power Steering, 727 auto, 3.21 Sure Grip rear. Cruise Control, AM/FM, rear defogger, Fuel Pacer and everything else that the Brougham package added to the car. We parked it in 1991. I resurrected it in 1999, and drove it for about 6 months. Parked it, intending to do the body work (which at that time was negligible) but life got in the way. I wound up selling the car in 2009 to a dude who just destroyed it :(

this would be an outstanding Power Tour ride for the family. I think you should keep it in one piece and use it for a family cruiser, there's room for all of you. Watching Wawa power-wash the left side of the car, I thought "what if she had a flamethrower?" Ants-B-Gone.
Do not scrap this piece of American automotive history. Fix her up 👍 Find a small block Chevy or Ford engine for the Gremlin. You can name the Chrysler "Sleeperdude 440" God bless y'all 😀
Hey Josh, the 440 & 727 will be a direct bolt in without having to make any modifications to the Motor Home`s (K-Member) or engine bay. The 440 big block engine was rated @ 375 HP & 480 ft lbs of torque. Many of the Dodge MH were sold with this engine & trans combo, I think it would make a great engine choice for your Motor Home so long as you do not mind ten miles per gallon.
I would be so tempted to put a red and green navigation boat light on the hood! Might as well put one of those tall chrome ones on the trunk! 😅 Not many of these around anymore - good job guys! 👍🏻
It truly touches my heart to see one of these rolling pieces of artwork brought back to life. I am thrilled to see the appreciation from the younger generation towards these never will ever see mammoths again. Cars had a completely different meaning then. Next to your home, it was your second biggest purchase. Today buying a car is like buying a washing machine. All you get for your money today is a plastic fantastic Chinese computerized circus toy. I guarantee you that you can not leave a modern car for 19 years and have it wake to abuse as this one did. It is clear this car has heart and I would want it to be brought back to its former glory and pride of the highway again. I am sure everywhere you go you will get smiles and a ton of thumbs up. Just save your money for gas. I remember them to be extremely thirsty.
I definitely think you need to fix her up some and see what you can get working. It looks to be in surprisingly good shape. Very little rust. The headlights probably didn't open because you had the vacuum unhooked. I know a lot of the old cars had vacuum operated headlights.
My dad had a '78 when I was in High School. One night when I was driving home from a friends house I got hit head on by a drunk in a mid seventies Chevelle. The New Yorker knocked the Chevelle backwards, folded the left side frame rail all the way to the firewall and the whole car was about 5 inches shorter. The drivers door was almost to the end of the rear side window. I opened the drivers door of the Chrysler and got out like nothing happened. The New Yorker was wrecked but the passenger compartment was completely intact.
Olá família, que maravilha de vídeo, este carro incrível, que acabamento fantástico dele, e hoje em dia não fazem nada igual. Parabéns para vocês 🙋♂️🇧🇷🚘
Watching u guys clean this car is just so satisfying. It took me back 23 years ago when I bought a 1984 white Ford LTD. It looked just as dirty as this one. I didn't have a power washer then but I scrubbed it all down inside and out. Let me tell u what that old grandma car cleaned up super. This old car need some work and lets see it run down the road again as a land yacht should!
WaWa did a great job powerwashing that car! I'm amazed at how well all of the kids do in cleaning up these cars. What an awesome transformation. One might say, "Impeccable."
This car brings me back so many memories. LOL had to take my driver's license test in the beast. Taking it mudding while my mom was at bingo. My mom hit 4 different dear and didn't to to much damage. Absolutely the best highway car you float on air.
Wa-Wa, when you get your own car and its time to wash it, if you wash from the top down, you dont have dirty water running over the previously cleaned paint and chrome and glass. The pressure washer isn't as messy as a hand wash. The dirt is blasted all over the yard instead of runnning over the paint. So that should be ok.
I was like... its got red pinstripes! And the chrome trim cleaned up nice! My vote is to restore that car... its way too nice to let it rot. Love watching ya'll. Cant believe it never sold... crazy!
I love this one. You guys are great. You gave me the courage to buy and bring back a 1975 Imperial 2 door crown coupe. Last of the Imperial boats! Thanks again!

Mega-props/kudos/applause for WaWa's pressure washing skillz!! Seriously, it's amazing that paint survived out there.
You guys are awesome! glad to see another video coming out.
Thank you
I’ve been watching you guys for a while now. I love the fact that the whole family gets involved with the projects. Reminds me of my dad and I working on the family cars…. More necessity than revival, but whatever. Keep up the good work!
Totally entertaining video! Loved watching you all getting her cleaned up. Thank you for great entertainment!
Thank you Marilyn
Be gentle with the old girl! Treat them right and she will always bring you home. Just acquired a 1977 Chrysler Town & Country Hearse, and believe me parts are hard to find. Like the Corinthian leather joke, I had a 1980 Cordoba and every time I went to part stores people would do their best Ricardo Montalban impression, I would say ha ha very funny like I never heard that before! Other then that, good video nice to see another "C body on the road again."
👍
Josh don’t let history die, they don’t make them no more,it would make a good Sunday driver with the family
Thank you so much
Man that New Yorker cleaned up really good man. I remember those tire jack back in the day. You all did a great job on it. You & your family have a good weekend.
Thanks so much
I would keep her just like she is. The car looks good. Great job guys.
I'd love to see her fully functional again. Take the family on a road trip in her!
Ok thanks
You have succeeded in bringing another great video to all your subscribers. I always enjoy watching you and your family work together. Thank you for all the enjoyment you bring. God bless you all.
Thanks so much
I started watching this channel because of the way the whole family got together to work on the car's or trucks that were there to be fixed
We would rather watch Sleeperdude than most UA-cam videos! I love that it's a family affair where everyone gets involved!!!! We love y'all Josh, Tosh and family!!!!
Thank you we really appreciate it
You folks are so much fun to watch.
Nice seeing the family working together restoring the big machine I love u guy's beautiful family.

I wound up selling the car in 2009 to a dude who just destroyed it :(
I can't wait to go home and enjoy this episode I keep my eyes open when next ..love follow you guys what guys..done awsome job with kids n animals involved. 😊😊love it Talent mate love your work ..love from us Australia in Sydney all the way from Samoa 🇼🇸 A+
That's a great car! I loved watching her beauty emerging when it was washed. Y'all did such a good job.
Thank you so much
Thank you so much
I can't say enough about what a wonderful family you all are ! just wonderful to watch your channel . keep up the great work ! ps .. that's one pretty swanky car ! love it !
Another Gem saved, this is going to be your new Sunday going to church cruiser. You guys are awesome and the videos are great fun to watch. Can't wait until the next video. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Thanks
Thank you for your generosity we really appreciate it
this would be an outstanding Power Tour ride for the family. I think you should keep it in one piece and use it for a family cruiser, there's room for all of you. Watching Wawa power-wash the left side of the car, I thought "what if she had a flamethrower?" Ants-B-Gone.
For sure
Do not scrap this piece of American automotive history. Fix her up 👍 Find a small block Chevy or Ford engine for the Gremlin. You can name the Chrysler "Sleeperdude 440" God bless y'all 😀
👍👍👍
Empezando a ver tu vídeo lo estaba esperando ojalá y todo salga muy bien saludos a tu gran y hermosa familia desde Maracaibo Venezuela
Love seeing these great old big barges salvaged! Such a great example of 70's excess!
Thank you
Hey Josh, the 440 & 727 will be a direct bolt in without having to make any modifications to the Motor Home`s (K-Member) or engine bay.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gracias por estos videos me hacen reír mucho y distraerme y ver lo que son como se.respetan !!! GRACIAS desde Argentina !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m glad you like them
It truly touches my heart to see one of these rolling pieces of artwork brought back to life.
Ralphie, "Do you have any Grey Poupon?"🤣
I definitely think you need to fix her up some and see what you can get working. It looks to be in surprisingly good shape. Very little rust. The headlights probably didn't open because you had the vacuum unhooked. I know a lot of the old cars had vacuum operated headlights.
A great save and well worth the effort you have all put in. Keep going on this project and get that baby on the road. Thank you Sleeperdude family.
Love it she really cleaned up very well!
Thank you
My dad had a '78 when I was in High School.
Oh wow that’s crazy
@@Sleeperdude That New Yorker saved my life! What a car!
Enjoyed this rig’s videos. My dad had a 79 Chrysler Cordoba and it brought back some memories watching this cleanup haha
That’s awesome, thank you
Olá família, que maravilha de vídeo, este carro incrível, que acabamento fantástico dele, e hoje em dia não fazem nada igual. Parabéns para vocês
🙋♂️🇧🇷🚘
love that car sleeperdude
It has class for sure
I call dibs if y'all decide to sell her.
Thank you
Lol..And if he doesn't..I got next!
You guys would have to hire Josh as a full time employee to keep it running
@Just Traveling 🤣 It would go next to my other old boats. I'm not as good as he is but I'd keep her on the road. But the no ants!!! Lol
The old land barge needs Posi Traction!
Thank you
Where Ralphy is looking to be more of a mechanic I can totally imagine Wawa running a car detailing business. She is going all-in.
Maybe so
I love your videos❤❤❤❤❤ awesome content
Thank you
Something very satisfying in watching a vehicle being deep cleaned back to it's somewhat original glory. Well done!!
So that should be ok.
looks totally different after cleaning.looking good
I was like... its got red pinstripes! And the chrome trim cleaned up nice!
My vote is to restore that car... its way too nice to let it rot.
Love watching ya'll.
Cant believe it never sold... crazy!
I like how close you guys are, great family working together on cars and trucks, biggest fan of yours Thank You
By the way I love all the old cars
Thank you
I love this one. You guys are great. You gave me the courage to buy and bring back a 1975 Imperial 2 door crown coupe. Last of the Imperial boats! Thanks again!
Wow, it really cleaned up really nice! I would finish cleaning it up and get everything working. Could just be a bunch of blown or corroded fuses. What a comfortable looking ride!
