Yeah, he’s truly a great interviewer/podcaster/? So glad he’s in this space! Gives me a lot of confidence because I have a female, 7-year-old , second cousin, who inquirers on doing questionnaire style videos such as these…and II do my best to encourage it. This is the coolest thing that I’ve ever seen on UA-cam, this isn’t some comedy or influencer bullshit talking about nonsensical shit, this is a real all day conversation between two gentleman discussing the future of humanity. I find him extremely disingenuous and his explanations are insulting to our intelligence. But especially mine. They're already experimenting on civilians a number of these off-shoot Neuralink features that make a physically inserted device completely unnecessary. What a joke. They don't care about paraplegics either. That's their annoying fallback excuse. They already have wireless BCI for starters. Insulting.

Just raw dogged the whole episode, no water , no sun light and no distractions in 2 days. Got emotioanl at the end, man Nolan is so motivated with this device that only allows him to do simple tasks, and it makes me feel bad when i remember all them times i dont want to put my shit together and do the things that i want to do. Elon's 5 step algorithm: 1. Question the requirements. 2. Aggressively delete what might not be necessary. 3. Try to optimize/simplify what's left. 4. Speed up the processes and then 5. automate. Sounds like this could be applied to our government in some interesting ways.
It could also be applied or the first to American thinking.. we often ask what we should believe an join in on false fundamentals... Like social security insurance welfare all sounds good but taken to its fundamentals your asking an inhuman system aka government to by force of law which is always ultimately enforced by violence or threat of death if you don't comply... To cover you when life goes awry.. which is ultimately again a fear response which is always wrong in social settings and easy to control. It's socialism which kills free and open markets.. you cannot have them both socialism violates the fundamental rules they don't work in the same system socialism kills freedom an capitalism. Reality is the perfect proof. Not that those people should be left to suffer alone.. what should happen.. what is morally right.. an what makes everyone feel better is cutting out the middlemen who profit an don't care bc their a business not a person... Would be to do what was done in the past . Families care for their elders... It is a respect an love... Everyone feels better... Welfare should be communal.. done from locals who care... It's a dystopian nightmare. They have the medical technology to help this poor man without putting him through their nonsense product. He doesn't need an implant. They know it- which makes them all liars. When you realize the baseline starting point which is they don't give a shit about paraplegics, or anyone's health for that matter (remember Co vid??) Then. Then you can think more clearly about what their actual goals might be. Synthetic telepathy has been around for decades for starters.
LEx is young...I like him...he has room to grow. But Sean Carroll is amazing at conversation and is a physicist. Donald Hoffman is amazing articulate. Josha Bach is insane smart and articulate. Sabine Hossenfelder is no nonsense. Ben Goertzel is crazy deep thinking. All with somewhat similar interest...but ask and theorize crazy good questions. Lex is young. I dont know what he specializes in...programming and AI? He seems to be a young Joe Rogan. I hope he succeeds and asks tough questions.
I highly recommend to view it last to first. From Noland to Elon. Or if you viewed it already - try again from start. There is so many things you can understand from the conversations only after you got how it all works.
It's so great to be able to actually see and listen to smart people - something different, some almost magical. Thanks, Lex, and all interviewed. As I get older, I realize how difficult it is to have meaningful conversations.
Lex, you and I are the same, I go at 1x because I want to feel like i'm there for the conversation and I want to hear the pauses in real time to see how thoughtful someone is being.
He always seems happy and more lighthearted when interviewed by Lex. He genuinely seems to enjoy it and I think respects Lex a lot, because, along with Tim Dodd, Lex seems the closest to being on Elon's intellectual level. Well, Jordan Peterson too, who went really deep with Elon recently, but I think Elon enjoys talking to Lex the most.
It is always nice to see Elon Musk in an environment that allows him to be completely transparent. I have watched many interviews but when he comes on your podcast I see Elon Musk the individual, and I am able to appreciate another side of Elon Musk- a more human nature. It is kind of like watching two friends having an intimate conversation in their backyard. Perfection! ☕️ Of course, this is only possible because you are such a great host and you give your guest your undivided attention and respect. ❤
Disheartening, this need to belittle, even here. If Elon got 1 hr or 8, the original comment is still correct, isn’t it? A format where he is given the time he needs by Lex patiently not interrupting, as seen on many other formats.
I think this was the first time I heard Matthew MacDougall talk. Wow, this guy is pretty smart. Here is where Elon Musk's power is shown. He is smart enough to recognize smart people and has a way of collecting them into a team. Its impressive.

I also love the feel of paper, and the smell of it. Just wow. It's a breath of fresh air to hear such appreiation and gratitude. Talking about everyday, I guess that's what makes us numb to touch and other things, but I must think constantly that many people don't experience touch. You can best see this on comment threads below history or political videos, where about 80% of commenta are hidden (observed by difference in stated and actual number of replies). Theres little chance even this comment gets through, as i discuss a forbidden topic, and i have just wasted minimutes writing this. (Hopefully) Lighthearted jokes, memes, and observations are expected on this platform. Unfortunately, the UA-cam platform was not designed for long-form interactions. There isn't even a good way to go back and look at all of one's own comment/reply history. A Reddit or Discord type platform may be more suited for that type of dialogue.

Yes, but needs to be more accurate, death is permanent loss of memory. Otherwise it is like a sleep, or general anesthesia. You get it back in those cases, just you are not saving new memories (dreams are saved sometimes, but not much out of those 8h)
@@jutjub22 does it even matter to us for how long the memory loss is happening , as once it is gone even the sense of time is lost (as sense of time is due to memory only) so getting it after 1 day or 1 year or never is exactly the same .

I don't usually respond to these types of things but the fact that you said it somehow triggered me to respond and tell you that I agree. I'm not sure how often I read comments like this but watching videos at normal Pace seems like the thing to do. Seems like with even smartphones people just don't have enough time they are consuming so much they want to double the speed. I don't get it. Just like abbreviations and all these things I end up typing most of everything except LOL out. You can clearly tell that smartphones and social media have influence people to be less patient

Other podcasters really need to take after Lex and Joe. They seem to be the few people in podcasting that will actually let their guest complete their thoughts before interrupting. I don't alot of podcast shoot for that. Most are there to make a buck. One in particular that I listen to is just there to talk about himself for the most part while also promoting his guests whatever they have coming out

Yes, but needs to be more accurate, death is permanent loss of memory. Otherwise it is like a sleep, or general anesthesia. You get it back in those cases, just you are not saving new memories (dreams are saved sometimes, but not much out of those 8h)

@@jutjub22 does it even matter to us for how long the memory loss is happening , as once it is gone even the sense of time is lost (as sense of time is due to memory only) so getting it after 1 day or 1 year or never is exactly the same .

Yes you have great guests all the time, a parade of fascinating brilliant creative and possibly species saving minds... But his particular attitude and general demeanor not to mention courage and resilience are absolutely the best of humanity on display and probably more important than all the rest, he makes you feel good about being human and that's hard to find these days

Call me old fashion, but watching a video at regular speed will always be the thing for me.
I don't usually respond to these types of things but the fact that you said it somehow triggered me to respond and tell you that I agree. I'm not sure how often I read comments like this but watching videos at normal Pace seems like the thing to do. Seems like with even smartphones people just don't have enough time they are consuming so much they want to double the speed. I don't get it. Just like abbreviations and all these things I end up typing most of everything except LOL out.
You can clearly tell that smartphones and social media have influence people to be less patient

Other podcasters really need to take after Lex and Joe. They seem to be the few people in podcasting that will actually let their guest complete their thoughts before interrupting.
