As a father of 3 little children, Elons last statement about how you relive joys through your children as they experience the world for the first time really hit home. I never really thought about it but it's so true. As a 39 year old, Disneyland is far from interesting but going with my 4 and 2 year old daughters was so incredibly fun. Their joy is your joy. Video games are awesome, lol. It's hard for gamers such as myself to explain to non-gamers why we enjoy spending time playing them.....trying to explain why we enjoy... having fun?
And when you consider the $/entertainment value, it's so cheap, as well, especially if you get a good game that you can spend a decent amount of time on/in.

Thank you for your service, but ancient history disagrees with you. The Roman republic's politicians were also their Generals. So when these politicians instigated a war, they would then have to go to it. Some would fight and die in these battles. Caesar famously fought personally against Gauls (having some near misses too if the sources are to be believed)... This did not stop them from instigating wars again and again for personal power, wealth and glory. If the leaders had to fight as well, I don't see it changing since they would still gain incredible power, wealth and glory

There is a fundamental and ugly truth to this. With freedom of choice comes disagreement and conflict that can lead to war. You can remove both at the same time, but that leads to a hellish totalitarian future that is far from what people would dream a peaceful world to be. The only way for such thing to work, would be for every individual human being to be trained to make the right, socially beneficial choice since birth. That is not possible. Even that would require for humans to not think, but act 100% according to their training.
