Marko was there from the 4th album on, not the second :) But yes he does feel like one of the originals! And I love Tarja on this song, her voice is so essential to it :)
This is my favourite Nightwish song. I love it! I loved this song already before I got into Nightwish proberly. The song, sang by Tarja, feels really nostalgic. Floor brings something new and more rockier sound to it.
This is also one of the few Nightwish songs that Tarja still sings in her live shows :)
I hugely respect her for that, she could have decided not to sing those songs but she knows how much this song means to the fans.
And I know that Tarja still thinks that Nightwish's music is beautiful.
I know Tuomas made those songs but that doesn't mean that Tarja can't still sing them :)
In here you can feel the song. The official and original video of this is one of the best music videos I know. By the way...have you seen more breath taking singing costume than that red dress...I have not.

I love the energy of this performance and I always appreciate and value the richness of Tarja's voice including the depth of her low notes. I don't need added frills, the music and the voice make it pure joy!
Along with many other Nightwish songs Tarja owns this.
Floor’s version is very pretty, and I enjoy it, but I prefer not hearing the notes at the end. There is such grandeur there, and stands on its own.
I always think of Wishmaster when I think of Emppu solos. Maybe it’s only because he has two. And of course High Hopes is a great one

This song is Tarja's for sure in my mind, and this is possibly my favourite performance. I'm not dissing Floor, and I do like what she does at the end, but it's just _extra,_ not _better_ (unlike, say _GLS,_ where what she does really enhances it for me).
I bet Floor has watched and studied each second of this DVD haha
One thing that is different here vs. Floor singing it, it seems Tarja goes like a bit slower in, Floor goes a bit earlier to the notes (don't know the terms, but I hope I could explain it). I think it makes the song sound more "rock" or fast paced with floor (though the notes and tempo they play probably are the same)

Im not the biggest NW guy. But this song is pretty damn good. It is one of the very first songs I heard that introduced me to finnish metal when I was a kid. And yes, Im finnish. Only metal I knew back then was Evanescense 😁
This was Taryas last Show. She got the,"Letter" AKA, you and your prick husband are FIRED. Tough time for a close band. Tuomas was very close to her.

End of an Era (Helsinki 2005) is not my favorite concert at all. And for this song, not the fav performance, nor the 2nd nor the 3rd. Sure it was a big venue, and there's more show and effects.
It's good, but in this concert Tarja's vocals are dry. She doesn't sound as lively and relaxed as normal. One reason is her being sick, but another reason is that they chose her to sing in more contemporary fashion, and many songs suffer from it.
Too bad that this concert has most views: better quality videos out there, and better performances as well.
I somewhat agree.. I have many live performances of her like From Wishes to Eternity, some of her solo songs (I play her Ave Maria every Christmas season), Beauty and the Beat. It's just that there's many good songs on this album. I first heard them on a business trip to Vassa in 2000. I'm pretty sure it was either Sacrament of the Wilderness or Stargazers, but it stuck in my head until I could find it Stateside, but it took a while.
