1200 bucks for a Chaser. The engine alone is worth more now.
Shame it was an auto. Literally would've had EVERYTHING to build something great if there was a manual trans except for that lame restrictive stock exhaust. Look at all the AE86's just sitting around too. Damn these guys got lucky to do this and snag this drivetrain for $1,200. The Recaro on the forklift is a hell of a nice touch too. I dig it.

This was when MCM peaked. It's still great today, but it was phenomenal back then. I'm just thankful we had this.
I got a little sad when the car was finally detached in half. Its dead and will never be whole again.

A chaser seems like a cool car as well. Would love me one of those to scare the shit out of the gti's and honda's around here. But this one has had it's day. Just be glad the mighty engine lives on and doesn't get crushed. It prolly would have been crushed if they didnn't buy it anyway.

Ok, so I am super confused. I noticed Moog firing a gun. I have been planning a trip to Japan and enjoy shooting and looked high and low for shooting opportunities in Japan, and from what I can tell civilians are not allowed to have firearms. Can anyone shed some light on this?

the problem is that they can't import it to australia for legal reasons so they cut it in half and brought the useful end home

because those are legally allowed into the country with some modifications, like he mentioned, Catylitic Converter(s) and Immobilizer. look up the episode "Importing a car from Japan"

+highlandrab19 No, it's because it's not legal to import a Chaser into Australia, because of our stupid Australian Design Rules _unless_ it's chopped in half (hence the half-cut terminology) and registered as spares.
highlandrab19 save space, and legal issue. Some country like Indonesia bans used car importation, however it allows parts (engines, etc.) imported.

Correction, its a huge pain in the ass so, nearly Illegal, there a is a huge procedure and what not and you can only use a fire arm for hunting and sporting.

I've bought an engine from from IchiBan before.. It was the best and fast shipper from Sydney, Australia to the west coast America.. Man they are the best customer service too through eBay. Next time I'll buy more from them. Only takes 8 days flat..wow!! Very happy mate.

I´ve watched this video 1 or 2 years ago, but noticed one thing right now, it´s got the Stock Lexus LS 400 Rims without the centercaps on it, had the same on my ls400 for about 8 months and i also took of the center caps :D :D
