August in the South. Fishing early before the sun comes up, fishing at sundown/ night and tuning up the rifle, bow & shotguns for Turkey and Deer season that is right around the corner! Of course it is always Pig season in East Texas! At night my favorite bait is straight up old school. TX rigged 12 inch Mann's Jelly worm. Good video. Tight Lines and God Bless.
Alex was in a live stream a few weeks ago and you said something about fishing with dark colored baits at night. Thanks to you a lake id fished 20 years and never caught anything I caught my 2nd and 3rd pb first one was at night 3rd one was in the evening almost dark. Just wanted to say thank you.
Fished from bank on Lake Wylie Monday night and was on the struggle bus. I caught one on a jig next to dock, my buddy caught one on black t rig trick worm next to a pole. I went old school for about an hour with the black jointed jitterbug and had about four or five hits but no hook ups ! My favorite night bait is a crankbait. And bill lewis rattle traps work good on Wylie at night too. Thanks Alex
You really nailed it Alex,I’ve been night fishing for over 30 years and when I fish a spinner bait I use a #5 hammertone silver Indiana blade on a 1/2 or preferably a 3/4 oz ,Whopper Plopper 130 is killer and also BBZ 50 Spro Rat and the opposite on colors, brown and orange spinner bait , and white on Whopper Plopper and also on the rat, peace out brother 💪🔥🍻
Lol the southern accent had me confused a bit. Thought I heard you say you start thinking about not fishing because it's in August. I'm like huh? But you didn't say not, you said night😂
Great Video! My favorite night bait is a plum colored 10” inch worm Texas rigged with a 3/16 ounce weight. Just recently caught a 4.65 pound largemouth on it. Looking forward to going night fishing again later this month.
I’ve really only night fished for walleye, but it sounds like it’d be fun to try bass fishing at night. If it gets any hotter I’ll definitely have to try it.
Dude this time of year it's just starting to get out of winter, It's still cold as you know what!! But you spot on about the Red light. The big Murray cod will get scared and see it before you know it and stuff your spot up trying to get that big cod in a second. And you can only run in to some one this time of year between 10pm all the way to 4am next morning, fishing only top water or BIG spinner baits as well, great video buddy. You can see my new setup on IG page to see what I use for night fishing for the big cod.
I just got done night fishing and caught about 30 bass on bluegill squarebills and the Loon whopper plopper ....they just seem to love the plopper lately.
That Jackall wake bait is definitely gonna be in my night time arsenal the propeller squeal sold me I’ve been using the spro rat 50 lately definitely recommend that bait or the 130 plopper in bone
I don’t usually order stuff straight from a video, but I went ahead and ordered a set. I hope to be doing some night kayak fishing in the future. I think these will work out.
Hey Alex, I know you did this video a while back but do you know if they still make the Jackall Chan wake baits and if they do where can you get them. Can't find them anywhere.
There was a study conducted by one of the scientists at Berkeley and he found that the cones in a basses eye can only see the red and green spectrums. That means they see black and blue as black and grey instead for example
Excellent presentation on night fishing. Our AZ air and water temperatures are high here also. Many of our better anglers in AZ do better with drop shot in shallow to deeper water. Very low visibility in our lakes. I seldom get night bites. Any suggestion on how to fish drop shot at night to tickle the lateral line better? Again, excellent technical presentation.
Alex Rudd Fishing , thank you so much for responding. I have both presentations. I do use tungsten 3/16 mostly. I fish from a kayak. Fall season can’t come soon enough.
just be glad u dont live in MA... last night was the 1st rain we've had in over a month. 90+ with 80% humidity the past 2 weeks. may 25th im wearing a winter coat and by july 15 its over 90 everyday... ya we have 1 nice month of weather in 8 months..... place sucks lol
@@AlexRuddFishing Exact question i was gonna ask. Would be awesome to see all this info in action. Crazy hot on Hartwell right now, so we are gonna have to move to night.

Heck yes! Can’t beat the big worm.
I've been fishing at night a lot recently and have figured out additional nighttime crushing baits. I also throw these

That’s so awesome! Good work.
Im with you on the spinnerbait, been one of my confidence baits for years. I like how you’ve got the top, middle and bottom water columns covered.
The Vont headlamps are great.
For smallies, I prefer hair jigs and wobble heads. Spinnerbaits come in 3rd. So much fun.
The BEARD BARN. Love it!

I like pitching a jig at night. Got a few ones with a rattle in a black and blue color.
Hey Alex! Thank you for including Vont Spark Headlamp on this video. We are sure it's going to be really useful for night time fishing.

My dad and I struggle to find black spinnerbaits in stores. We use them during the day too. We have absolutely slayed bass on black spinnerbaits.
Make sure to check out Tackle Warehouse use the link in my description. I’ve got the one I talked about in this video linked there.

I swear he was saying NOT fishing!
Love the accent

Great tips. Been doing more night fishing and absolutely love the spinner bait. Also been throwing the chatter bait for a different profile. 👍
Zoom trick worm, color green..either weight less topwater with it or shakey head

@@AlexRuddFishing just delivered.
Really would like a black light option on that dude also but the red works great to tie and not have the bugs!!
Awesome video Alex! Some of the biggest bass I've seen caught in my area are at night or just before dark!
Short arm spinnerbait, with a number 5 colorado blade for these tennessee smallies
Thanks for the knowledge 👍
I know this is an old video but I hope u see this have u ever thrown black and chartreuse or white spinner baits?
Hey Alex, I know you did this video a while back but do you know if they still make the Jackall Chan wake baits and if they do where can you get them. Can't find them anywhere.
What is your night time setup on the boat? Headlights, black-lights? Do you concentrate on small-mouth or big green ones?
There was a study conducted by one of the scientists at Berkeley and he found that the cones in a basses eye can only see the red and green spectrums. That means they see black and blue as black and grey instead for example
So essentially they see every color except those on the blue end of the spectrum. That’s interesting.

Very low visibility in our lakes. I seldom get night bites. Any suggestion on how to fish drop shot at night to tickle the lateral line better? Again, excellent technical presentation.
I would go with either a bigger drop shot worm or a small paddle tail swimbait.

Deps Buzzjet in black ( of course )!
Awesome video man!
Thanks Alex the black jointed jitter bug works good here in va
like to fish the musky size jitterbug in black at night
Good job Alex
Time to take a road trip to visit Benjamin up north where it is a little cooler.
Find someone to work my job for me and I’ll head that way 😂
Did you add the red Colorado blade to the first spinner bait? I clicked on the link to buy a few and it only shows with black blade. Thanks man.
I did not. They use to sale variation but I guess they don’t now.
I don’t see a link for trailer hooks?? Thanks
Great video man lotta good explanation
I love throwing a Whopper Plopper 130 in Loon at night.
Great video thanks for the info
Single Colorado black spinner bait.
Black shaky & Black Ned
All them Yankees thought you said "not fishing" first time you said "night fishing."
Love that trailer hook but I didn't see the link for it.

91? I got 96 the other day. It’s just brutal!
Wow

Nice. Night video coming?
Working on it. The biggest issue is lighting. I think I have something figured out.
