    I had the same wider body line problem on my 64. I sliced the body line in half on the new quarter panel about a foot back and then squeezed that body line together and welded it so it matches up against the original factory door. The body line is wider towards the back but you can’t tell and it matches quarter panel to door which is key.
    Great work Robert, wish I had seen your videos before my project.

    It’s amazing how such straight body lines fit so perfectly in the body design. Never get tired of looking down the quarter.

    That bodyline on the quarter that is wider, or maybe the door bodyline is thinner..... Ick... that doesn't look fun

      I’ve been trying to find a set of the supports that go from top of rear inner wheel well to top of rear quarter panel next to trunk gutter, can you please tell me what they’re called and if I’m able to find them
      Thanks

      I tried looking but I don’t know what they’re called ,
      I watched this video and noticed that they were already on there. Before you started installing the quarter
      I also watched the video on repairing the inner well but you didn’t say anything on it
      What should I type in on search bar ?

    Did the door and the quarter come from the same manufacturer? I've wondered how consistent parts are for a given manufacturer. I had a reproduction RH front quarter for my 62 and it was generally nice, but it did not line up at all at the front of the hood (orig. GM) or at the eyebrow molding (orig. GM), and had an extra accent on one of the body lines. For the amount of correction the reproduction needed I ended up repairing my original. It did make me wonder if a repro hood and eyebrow molding by the same manufacturer would have matched the repro fender though.

      The original quarter was patched up, rusted out, and a couple of gallons of filler.... yeah that main body line is a kick in the butt.

    Thanks so much for this. What screws do you use to pull the panel tight for the plug wlds at door jamb? I'm doing some patching on an 84 mustang convertable and I am overly worried about too tight or too loose.

    • @guzzifabrication3448
      @guzzifabrication3448  10 місяців тому

      I'm using self tapping screws, one tip when installing the screws use a screw driver instead of a power tool and you will have much more control over under/over tightening. Thanks for watching !
