I love how honest this channel is. cooking is time and energy consuming, and we just don't have much of either. I'd eat healthier if cooking was more convenient, and it can be that! Thank you for providing not just good recipes, but accessible ones.
It really does seems like a lot of work, and it could be if you don't cook that often. But then you realize how long they last. I spent about an hour making the bean and cheese tacos the other week (yes, the other *week* lol), and I'm barely over half way through, at a rate of about 2 tacos per day. 1 hour of work for 3 ish weeks of tacos at about $10 cost for ingredients? Not a bad trade.
I always just dump a bunch of different veggies in 1 pan and mix it up with creamcheese and a bunch of spices and herbs if i dont feel like cooking. Its a healthy and quick meal and you can just put it in the frying pan, turn the heat down and just stir it every 5-10 minutes for 30min total.
Look up Aglio e Olio, one of the quickest, simplest recipes you can get. Do not worry about the amount of oil used, extra virgin olive oil has a tonne of health benefits.
If you’re Hispanic or used to more spice, add another jalapeño and double the cayenne. They were pretty bland when I made them. I also omitted the brown sugar because I feel like the sweet potato adds some good sweetness and the brown sugar is probably for color anyway.
This video has inspired me to start my own snack city in my freezer. I swear this channel just gets better and better. Thank you so much for these recipes! My wife and I have been meal prepping for 15 years now, so its always great to find a channel that specializes in delicious and healthy meal preps. Keep up the excellent work!
Man, I’ve been subbed since before you went viral with your buffalo recipe and a gold member on your website. You’ve always had your own unique commentary that I loved, but now you address the trolls is absolutely AMAZING! I now come for the amazing recipes, but also the commentary haha. Also, video idea? Maybe you could do a video showing off your website and a little tutorial on how to maximize its usage? I love the website and it makes shopping sooooo much easier
I vacuum seal all our portions for snack city. That way I'm not opening and closing the bag over and over again. Kids servings and servings for my wife and I. I even kept some McDonalds Happy Meal boxes. I find a small toy they have and put it in a zip lock bag. Call it the Daddy Meal. They love it.
Love this channel. Refreshing format and presentation. Much more approachable recipes than a lot of other cooking channels and I enjoy the focus on nutrition!
These are awesome. I added a Serrano pepper for more heat. I Must have a fat scooper since I ended up with 60 vs 90 but they’re great. 5 min in the air fryer to crisp up and they’re perfect
We at my house, too. But once you acquire good tools / gadgets, and come to understand how they improve your cooking / cleaning / gardening, you always wonder why you didn't do it earlier. I guess I'm not the only one who has to be persuaded! 😉 Also, you don't need to buy at the higher end, so do a bit of research and read customer reviews. All best!
Nice recipe, tastes really good. Only thing I have to say is I highly highly recommend not trying it with a blender. It took me forever as I could only put a handful of chicken chunks in at a time. Obviously not all blenders are equal so YMMV. If I do it again I'll be buying a food processor.
It's funny, how my current, 50$ blender gave up after second batch of sweet potatoes, whereas the previous 10$ one with much bigger container and blades had no problem slicing through them as well as chicken thigh. I guess that bigger processing container makes a difference. Potatoes were sliced into slightly bigger pieces but in the end it did not even matter. .... And my newest, most expensive blender has broken processor attachment :)
Hello Josh. Totaly will add this to my snack portfolio, thank you for that. And I wanted to tell you something I just recently learned myself to help you improve (nothing todo with this video tho). When using your microplane on citrus fruits hold the fruit and move the plane instead of the other way around. This makes it just so much easier. Cheers Mate.
Good video man! Unfortunate that everyone these days is having to justify every action in a video as they go. Just because they know the comment section is all too often a cess pool. Imho, fuck them. Let them complain. Each comment is channel interaction anyway right? If someone complains it's too spicy, laugh at them for being too stubborn to leave out the hot sauce in the first place. 🤷
This recipe was awesome! I substituted ground turkey in because it’s way easier to find and it still turned out great (just needed to cook a couple minutes longer is all).
It is a joke that i freeze nearly everything with my friends and family, and I'm okay with that. This UA-cam person understands that freezing saves time and money for food prepping, and actually keeps food fresh and tasting better than if you simply refrigerated the food. I joke back towards people who only refrigerate leftovers that they're afraid of commitment.
Do you have a suggestion or have you tried making these with something else instead of sweet potatoes? They look good, but I’m not a fan of sweet potatoes. Thanks for sharing
Hey 👋🏽 since I have found your channel I have gotten so much inspiration for quick, easy, and healthy dinners that aren’t bland and tasteless recipes. Its stuff I ACTUALLY enjoy eating!! Thanks you for all you do and for being YOU!…but I have one question, do you think you can make a video about fridge/pantry essentials or common grocery lists that you make for your meal preps for the weak?…I hope this is not asking a lot!(maybe it is lol) but really thank you so much for all your amazing healthy content. 🙏🏽🤟🏽😊🖤
Just wanted to say snack city is the best idea. i regularly store the fries, chicken fries, and chicken meatballs and its great. as a fat guy trying to loose weight while working and in grad school the ability to have a high protein snacks or the start of meals with our trying hard has both kept me healthier, and kept me from eating out and spending money. thanks so much for these recipes.
Just found your channel, you are a refreshing original content creator and have a great character. Appreciate the content since this discussion fatigue is exactly what I have issues with when gaining weight in any meaningful way. Definitely adding some of these ideas to a version of my own snack city.
I just discovered this channel and I fell in love with the idea of snack city. I just have to upgrade my fridge, because with small freezer, the best I can do is snack village, or snack campground.
I love this recipe and have been meal prepping heaps of your recipes for the past month. I particularly appreciate that you say you don’t count calories and you more emphasise the importance of eating protein. This seems like a really healthy message!
Do you think you could use this concept with other veggies? I feel like making a mixture of ground chicken, carrots, onions, and maybe squash or some kind of legume would be a promising way to have easy, nutritious, complete meals in the freezer.
This is an excellent recipe. At last, something that is not just nutritious, but affordable, too, especially when one kid just eats chicken nuggets. So, thank you for this fab recipe
I love how your recipes are healthy, macro-friendly, but more importantly, practical. Not everyone has a college gym bro's fridge with liquid egg whites and zero-calorie sweeteners and even if you're goal is to be in a deficit, a little real sugar or a couple of egg yolks is fine. But gym bro or not, everyone hates vegetables so I like seeing like-minded people produce such content manifesting our mutual hatred. Appreciate the awesome content!
Mine turned out more like a chicken patties, nevertheless this was actually quite tasty! I like low heat options and i defo think the 3/10 is on point. Greetings from Sweden.
have you tried cayenne instead of hot sauce? i think that might be more true to nashville hot chicken. but im definitely gonna give this a go, looks delicious! you are my go to for meal prep ideas.
these are good. bit of a pain to make but since I dont have to make them often it is fine. amazingly the sweet potato taste is not noticeable, not the biggest fan of sweet potatoes
I've binge watched most of your recipes over the last week or so, and bought the infrastructure necessary to found my own Snack City. I have a question for those of us who want to splurge for chicken thigh & chicken skins for the nuggets. how can I calculate the macros? Do you have a tool you use to do this? Obviously I would have to weigh the skins separately from the thighs as they have a different fat content, but when it comes time to figure out the macros, how do you do that?
I use Cromometer for my recipe database (you don't have to keep a daily food log to use the recipe feature.). There may be better ones out there but there is a lot of customization you can do with it.
Can you make a non spicy chicken nugget for I would like to make them for family members that can not have spicy foods thank you for making low calorie high protein meals I celebrate you 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. This channel has made it so easy to hit my protein goals and I never feel like In in a recipe rut anymore. Preciate you 🙏🏻
much love!!!! amazingly inspirational, and gdamn i love the practicality and the real world considerations. also, wondering how many freezers you are working with. saw one deep freezer and one empty ass freezer..... is that all you're working with? (i find it hard to work in just the one in my side-by-side, and the additional small little freezer i got.)
my problem w the snack city concept is by the time the second set of batches were pulled out of the oven, most of the first batch would have been completely housed by my fatass. meal prep and me don’t get along too well haha
I intend to make them triple the size and call them 'hamburger patties'.. People get angry over the definition of 'flash freeze'? This is why we cant have nice things.
Hey i like your mac and cheese and nasheville nugget ideas. Ive been trying to find a way to sneak avacado into my meals as i want to have it more. But i havent found a way to hide it in a meal where i wont notice it. Any ideas?
I noticed when watching this that the weights don’t add up, you say 1 tablespoon of chili powder (6g) and also 1 tablespoon of minced garlic (15g). This applies to several ingredients. Can you clarify please, many thanks
These were ight fresh out the oven. I only made 50 so mine must’ve been a lot bigger. But when I take them out the freezer and put them in the air fryer to reheat them now they are fucking delicious🔥🔥
Hey Josh, do you have any meal prep recipes that are gluten free? My mother and I were looking into meal prep to save time on busier days and she has celiac disease.

I need a ninja blender and a good processor ASAP if I’m ever gonna build snack city 😅
Anybody else think this was a cookie at first.
Nashville Hot Chocolate chip cookies 🤩
Pro tip, use parchment paper on pan, less stick and less mess to clean up
Yeah don't understand why you wouldn't do this tbh
have you tried cayenne instead of hot sauce? i think that might be more true to nashville hot chicken. but im definitely gonna give this a go, looks delicious! you are my go to for meal prep ideas.
Mine turned out soggy from the oven. Maybe because the ground chicken I bought has too much water in it
Anyone have a suggestion for a sweet potato sub, preferably less carbs?
Feel like these would be super quick to cook in the air fryer tbh. Theyre juuuust thin enough for it.
why do you put the food processor blade into the freezer too?
That was just what i was looking for.. Breakfast bites ;-)
I'm just gonna bust into your snack city... these look great ... and even better if they've already been made 😹😹🙌🙌
