Psychology tip: the words you chose can directly affect your mindset throughout the day. If you use more positive words you will notice the difference!

True. Be careful what you say. Sometimes silence is golden. If one has nothing positive to say , say nothing.
A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.
It is my major in college. Never used it had to much empathy. If one get toO involved in people's problems one can't help. I do pay attention to body language and read between the lines. Changing tone of voice and eye movements.

Be careful what you say, you are listening. Self talk is usually the reason one has low or high self efficacy, if one has low self efficacy they are more likely to demonstrate the 'why try' model, which hinders successful outcomes. High self efficacy increases persistence determination and endurance, which results in successful outcomes. So speaking positively will increase levels of hope and optimism.

The " why try method " has nothing to do with helping another.
At times all a person needs is ventilate feelings and concerns
" What do one says if one lost a child ore spouse to suicide "? Of course one helps with food and shelter if needed. Without bragging about it.
One need to know the limitation, help or doing harm to self ore another.
Yes " you listening ". Do you.?

@@annaamalia7189 at no point did I say the why try method helps another, the why try model demonstrates what happens to people who lose all hope, they give up, anyone who gives up will not succeed. And yes people do need to vent etc I know I did when my child died, see I am one of those people you speak about, but after decades of Research I have come to realise, misery attracts misery, we are the ones responsible for drawing more negativity into our lives, because we emit negativity, we project it out into the world and then it returns back to us, like a boomer rang. Religions called it karma or justice, science states all energy returns back to its original source. Either way we either learn to discipline ourselves, though positive thinking or we are the ones who don't succeed, it's that simple. I never said it was easy, I can assure you it's not, mainly because of what you yourself identified is everyone wants to vent' people have to learnt to behave in their animalistic instinctual manner, and yet they need to learn to develop self discipline, we can accept that a child when hurt or angry will behave in a unacceptable manner because they know no better so they react in an i tinctual animalistic manner, and unfortunately most adults continue their lives doing the same, but those people will bring suffering to themselves. Hense why when that adult is given the answer to change it, they can either behave egotistical and animalistic and Continue reacting or they can learn positive psychology change their behaviour and mind set, to enable them to respond rather than react.

@@anitacarrier9386 excellent post what I was thinking and writing may is misunderstood. The power of positive thinking is unlimited.
I tried to work in the field often dealed with people who couldn't understand that living with a narcissist and finding excuses for this person's behavior brought on their problems.
I stand up for injustice but can't change others behavior.
I took the problem home with me and couldn't find a solution to help. That is why I left......
Like you said positive energy radiates , negative energy radiates as well. After everything is said and done we are responsible for what we say and put out into the world. Sometimes it's best to be quite just be present and actively listen.
Again a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.
" The more I learn the more I realize how little I know ".

I've never once in my lifetime heard, or felt, a smile come through a phone without being able to see a persons face. (Unless it's a video chat)
I can, however, tell if a person is friendly or not, in a good mood or in a bad mood, or truly interested in what i'm saying or not, just by the tone of their voice, their input, and how they speak to me.

A wise woman I once knew she always was smiling, I asked her why she always smiled (because I wanted to be that happy) she said that she smiled because it makes her happy so she always smiles...I implemented her idea and wow it really worked! People called me mr. Smiley or Awesome Eric which made me even happier. But about 15 years I developed clinical depression after a big life change and the smile has left my body. I hope I can get back to being Mr. Smiley one day soon! Keep on smiling! 😀

So, bad news about the Yawning trick. It can work on people who watch you because they like you, but there’s a downside to this if they’re a psychopath.
Psychopaths lack empathy, the part of the brain that mimics yawning when a neuro-normative or those that have empathy see you yawn.
Essentially, because they don’t have empathy, they will fail to show this behavior, even while staring at you.

I like these ideas, however, I would like to express my reservation about writing things down. First and foremost DON'T TELL ANYONE if you choose to do this, but should you choose to write things down, I suggest locking it up immediately after you finish. Furthermore, DON'T do it on whatever computer you use OR someone else's. Another, better (in my opinion) way to take care of what you write is to burn it or put it through A CROSS-CUT shredder. And I do suggest reading immediately after writing your feelings. That way you can be sure you said everything you wanted to vent about, and then destroy it, so that it doesn't somehow fall into the wrong hands!!
I had an argument with a relative a while back. When we ended the argument, I still had PLENTY to say, so I wrote it down. Against my own advice I waited a few days before destroying it. Fortunately, my private thoughts remained private. I had cooled down by the time I destroyed it. I read it over before torching it. I was very glad that I had vented on paper and not in person, VERY glad.

And don't hesitate to assert yourself. This is what I always feared to do. You may get rejected (by a pretty girl)? WHO CARES! Just assert yourself, then move on. Your object is not to get a reply or response. but to just get up the courage to assert yourself.
    Procrastination
"Keep the faculty of effort alive in you by a little gratuitous exercise every day. Do every day or two, something for no other reason than that you would rather not do it. Everybody should do at least two things each day that he hates to do, just for practice. The hell to be endured hereafter is no worse that the hell we make for ourselves in this world by habitually fashioning our characters in the wrong way.” .--"The Principles of Psychology", Chap IV Habit, William James, page 82, in “Britannica Great Books”

It is similar to tricks mentioned here. We are attuned to normal conversation where we impart important information first, add connecting information then once done our voices automatically drift off. This drop off of voice tells us we can stop listening in earnest for the important stuff is done and dusted.
Keep that tone and volume you keep the audience wondering, listening for the rest of the important stuff. Drift off sound wise and your audience is already mentally packing up ready to go home/elsewhere.

You can't kill a monster without becoming one. You can't take back your words once they've been said when you get angry. You can't solve a problem with the same mind that created it. Peace
