Absolutely, it is possible. Flipping is what allowed me built my Hobby shop full of tools plus some extras. I really doesn't matter how much your day job makes as all of it goes in to the family budget. There's never ever any fun money left.
Agreed - that’s what got me into selling tools and parts to begin with. But then I got good at it somehow. Now I’m doing this full time so it is my day job. Weird, eh? Thankfully I have a retirement from the military too.
definitely doable, having a platform will absolutely speed it up, but that's not what makes it possible. i love this flip challenge videos. it's a whole genre.
Yep, I agree. I’ve seen some folks in other niches do similar videos. You’re 100% correct about my platform speeding things up but hopefully it’ll still be beneficial to the folks watching.
I don't understand why people get annoyed for someone selling something and making money on it , when they can do the same if they want to do the work, best wishes Mate from Roy the vintage carpenter in the UK .
I appreciate it! I think it’s a small number of folks who get upset about the price of parts but most people understand that responsibly curating these parts is no easy task
I have also have purchased plane parts where I only need couple parts to complete my plane. The remaining parts were sold back online for a slightly higher price 😄
It’s kinda the same thing I’ve always done, just highlighting specific purchases and sales along the way. That and keeping the funds separate so I can track em on the way to the LN shooting plane (or some other LN plane)
Agreed! But not everyone feels that way 😅 just-plane-fun.myshopify.com/products/original-stanley-rosewood-tote-no4-from-a-type-11 I just listed the tote from that T11 today
I’m not sure where the the numbers came from as I didn’t mention the amount of time spent 🤔 The parts I’ve sold so far from each plane are just the tip of the iceberg. Lots of money still left to be made and it will require much less time. Not sure if I even addressed your comment though as I don’t know where the numbers are coming from
My time is rather expensive (day job (REAL WORK)). However, I work cheap on personal time as long as I enjoys it. Yes, sometime a little crazy driving all that distance to get the "bargain" tool. It keeps me from spending more, doing other activities (going to the casino, spending money on sinkhole hobbies). If you actually do some woodworking, you may sell a few items too. I make fishing lures. What I make is not complete worthless (sawdust). Crazy old people collect these things and sometime real fisherman will use it to catch fish too! Again $/hr? Probably around or below minimum wage. But I enjoy the work.

Good for you. Quite inspirational! I have so many good plane parts, maybe I should part them out.
Awesome cant wait to see whats next.
At the time of this comment, a couple more parts have already sold so now I just gotta find some more broken & incomplete planes

That is a cool concept! I always like your videos and now you may have reason to make more. Those are some great parts.
Thanks! This is gonna be a fun challenge for sure 🎉
It's definitely possible, I've flipped enough planes that all my planes have not cost me any money. Time on the other hand is another story :)
I’m fortunate that I get to do this as my full time job so this flippin’ challenge is more like a side quest while I’m doing my regular “job”
I love it!!!!!❤ Life lessons!
Flippin flippin FTW!
Really like your idea to do this. Will be eagerly watching your updates.
Thanks for watching! I’m hoping to get enough deals done to be able to put part II together within a couple weeks
Great video. Excited the follow-ups.
Me too! Now I just gotta sell off some of these parts so I have more fun money to buy the next round of planes & parts
@@justplanefun i will have another list of parts I need to you soon!

I flip a lot. I love having stuff I like and want that I’m into for “nothing” essentially.
Yep - I have a lot of tools in my shop that were “free” once I sold off the ones they came with

That’s what’s up! Everyone wins in that scenario
This is awesome! 😀 What LN plane are you aiming for?
Not sure why my reply isn’t showing up. I’ve tried twice now
Maybe it’s not showing for me but you can see it? I dunno 🤷🏻♂️
@@justplanefun yeah I can see your reply.
What are the chances that the new system is working?

Hey, $35 for a tote is a GREAT deal these days! They go for A LOT more, for example, on the Bay.
Agreed! But not everyone feels that way 😅

I will take a run at that no 4 bed
Right on. We can hook that up (if I said no4 in the video I meant no3)
It shouldn't take long for you. If you can sell all the parts you showed at the end, that should be enough for a Lie Nielsen block plane.
I guess I should have specified - I’m shooting for a No10 1/4 or the LN shooting board plane. Wish me luck!
@@justplanefun Love your ambition!
Yer not deducting your income tax bill.
It took you 16 hours to make $150 = $10 an hour 😂
