A lot has changed since the year 2002 when I had and sold my hilux in 2016..Had a rav4 since and now just ordered the SR5,I must admit I’m a bit excited after watching this video..I wasn’t fussed on previous models.Toyota has upped their game.
I have a 2.4 and a 2.8ltr Toyota Hilux and for normal use one cannot tell the difference. I would notice the difference when towing my 4 tonne Kubota digger and trailer probably.

This is the pick up truck I wanted I’m my daily travel and exploration. My retirement toy. The best for my budget. Can’t afford the land cruiser so expensive. But I like much the land cruiser.😁 Anyway they’re both bullet proof. Any kind of terrain they’re really proven than European made. Quality reliability not expensive to repair. You can repair and maintain it by yourself as well. That’s the real toy.😁 No need the powerful engine. This vehicle is designed off roading ragged rocky muddy floods and mountains. Not for racing.

Great review. Currently driving a 68 plate invincible but that is being replaced by 21 plate Icon in a couple of weeks. I do enjoy driving the hilux, looks like the new Icon won’t be to much different from the Invincible. Only trouble is I’m going to be restricted on the new one😟
1; With the 2.8 it's definitely electronically limited in speed. It basically hits a wall. I would guess that's capable of 125mph/200+ km/h. 2; You can switch from h2 to H4 up to 60mph/100 km/h.

@@OsvUkVehicleSupply so a power button would be in the interior when your talking about the interior you said the power heat button is to heat the car up faster in cold mornings.
Very uncomfortable to drive. Very small interior. Centre console is far too wide causing footwell to be cramped. The footwell is so small it pushes the clutch pedal too far to the right and causes knee injury.

I spent about 18 months looking at all the pickup trucks in Thailand. Went for the Toyota over the D Max. I actually bought in Thailand in November 2017 a new Toyota Hilux Revo Prerunner E trim Double Cab 2 WD 2.4 ltr diesel manual gearbox. I have had absolutely no problems with it; saying that it has only done 28,000 kms in nearly 4 years. With the current line up now would go for the Toyota Hilux Prerunner Double Cab (Mid) 2 WD 2.4 ltr diesel for around 800,000 baht because it has the reversing camera. I shall add a Toyota Hilux Revo Std Cab 2.8 ltr 4x4 in early 2022 if I can get to Thailand without the quarantine crap.
Thanks for the reply mate. I actually decided on a d max v cross in the end for the newer tech but then zero stock levels over here put an end to that plan. So I ended up spending a bit more and getting a new mu X which I am very happy with. Good luck getting back, wait for the end of the waste of time ASQ shit is my advice
@@marklondonmark5657 I looked at the Isuzu Mu X and it looks OK. I personally would have gone for the Toyota Fortuner given the choice. A base 2WD Fortuner is 1.3 Million baht but a Toyota Hilux 2WD is 800,000 baht. I would not be able to justify the extra 500,000 for two more seats and less storage space than the pickup. I live in Isaan so a pickup is more useaful with regard to carrying 12 farm workers, building materials etc. I did not realise that there was a shortage of new vehicles in Thailand. My next purchase is a Kubota L5018 tractor.
The Tacoma is a brilliant truck and I think the design is superior to the Hilux, unfortunately we don’t get the Tacoma in the UK and also unfortunately we only get Diesel options. . . . Hilux with a 4.0 v6 petrol and take away all that fussy over the top design would be a great option

Only North America gets the Tacoma. So it's not even an option for other countries

Don't get it wet!!! It'll rust out in no time. Mine rusted out in 8 years from new, Toyota didn't want to know. Worst POS I ever owned.
