He was a class act and belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame! RIP!
Yes it's long overdue
Definitely a hall of famer
I couldn't agree more. What's wrong with the WWE. Why because he jumped ship too WCW...? How many other guys did the same or they hired from that company. C'mon guys PUT TENTA IN THE HOF...!!!
should have been in ages ago. this man is a fuckin legend
Lol. So many scream this guy should be in the hall, that guy in the hall. The Hall of Fame is no place. It’s not like the pro football HOF or major sports. Like wrestling. It’s make believe. It’s just another show.
I got to know John a little bit on the Wrestlecrap Forums. He was a nice man, who was really great with the fans.
This. The ever loving hell out of this.
Same here. He was such a kind guy, and always happy to talk with his fans. He tried to be positive, but also shared exactly what was going on, right up to the end. I still cry thinking what a nice, gentle man he was.
Anyone who got to know Mr. Tenta is probably a better person because of it! That kind of of goodness rubs off on people😊👍
I lived very close to the Harts. I never knew the brothers, they were in WWF by then, but I knew Stu and and some of the daughters. Stu stretched me many times growing up.
Anyway, wrestlers often showed up at the Hart house, and us kids always happened to be playing road hockey or wrestling in front of Stu's house when they did. Tenta was there once, and he was awesome, he played with a bunch of 7yo starstruck kids for like an hour. Four of us wresed him like hell, and he laughed like a child and would push us back and throw us off as we just continued, as kids do. Its a memory I treasure.
We'd bare knuckle box a lot, and stu loved it. He'd sit outside with his tea and giggle as we kicked the shit out of each other for Stu Harts attention.
Best times of my life.
@@stonehorn4641as a lifelong, die hard Hitman fanatic, I LOVE hearing stories like this! 🩷🖤 it's also so lovely to hear from so many fans what a wonderful, kind man Tenta was. May he rest well ❤
John Tenta is my dads cousin (Aka my second cousin), my dad has a doll of him and deeply misses him. May he rest in peace, RIP
I remember around mid 2000s when he was fighting cancer he used to pop in wrestling forum most nights chatting to fans and telling stories.
We went to the same High School... I herd from my teachers how nice of a guy he was... RIP John, gone but never forgotten...
John was a gentleman and an all around Badass human!!!! Was honored to help him with his school and be apart of his fundraising shows he put on!!! R.I.P.
The one thing I really enjoyed about John's ring work was that for a big man he was fairly quick and athletic. I remember watching a match he had with Tugboat and both of them threw dropkicks on the other. That was rare in the WWF. You never saw big men do those kind of moves. Most big guy matches were slow and plodding, but John could work at a good pace.
Not gonna lie, back when I probably watched wrestling, I loved seeing the massive guys do the crazy athletic stuff. I was like “you shouldn’t be able to do that!!”
One of the best big guys of all time and such a loss. If he was around nowadays I could quite imagine him making the add appearance at a Royal Rumble or on one of the legends nights.
Wow!!! 42 yrs old, which is the exact age I am, and I think man, he did ALOT in those 42 yrs! What a guy! RIP EQ
John "the gentle giant" Tenta! My favorite wrestler of all time! The fact that John still hasn't been inducted into the WWE HOF proves what a disgusting human being Vince truly is! A big thanks for making this video! RI.P John!
You got that right
great to get more info on Earthquake, was always a huge fan. RIP.
Earthquake is the most underrated legend in WWF.
those were some great pics. I'd never seen him that young or that slim before. also, I think he did great job at protecting his opponents during his finisher. it looks devastating, but if you look close you can see how well he does it. nice job.
The Natural Disasters were a childhood favorite. This was an awesome career retrospective. I've gotten to meet Fred when I lived in Florida but I'm sad that I never met John. The Disasters team deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.
A true respectable Canadian man.
Rest in peace john and thank you for bringing joy to the fans.
John Tenta 💐💐💐
100%
John Tenta was one of the best big men ever.
A special blend of power, agility and size.
RiP Big Man, you are missed
In BC we had Earthquake, in Alberta we had Brett and Owen Hart, in Saskatchewan we had Roddy Pipep and in Manitoba we had Chris Jericho. Gotta love western Canada 🇨🇦
In Ontario we got Justin Berber 🎉
A respectable big man in wrestling, actually fun to watch.
Great job. Why isn’t he in the hall of fame? R.I.P EarthQuake. I would love to see one on Ravishing Rick Rude. R.I.P
Thank you John for being apart of my childhood and Triple H do the right thing and induct Earthquake into the WWE Hall Of Fame 2024 plz 🙏🏾
fine work as always he was a top guy when i first started watching loved his stuff good hard hitting stuff and man what a look imagine him vs broody
One of THE BEST big men this business will ever see. A legit tough SOB in every sense of the word. God bless you Big John.
Brilliant editing at the beginning, with footsteps and moves in sync with the music! As always, just fantastic stuff.
He's absolutely underrated. Good Guy with Skills. You are missed big Men 🙏🏼 RIP 🖤
Now this is a wrestler that should have held a major world title! Tenta was an absolute beast.
Happy you included the WrestleCrap period. I was around for that time, and looked forward to his updates. Its when the updates slowed, and then ended altogether, you knew things had turned south. All I can remember was how incredibly sweet he was.
Gotta love this man..what an amazing talent. R.I.P John Tenta
I never knew anything about him other than growing up and watching this huge fucking dude they called "Earthquake" wrestle.
What a cool guy. I hate learning all of these great things about all of these great people when their time has already stopped.
I didn’t appreciate Tenta enough when I was younger. Truly an agile and fast big man. I remember being absolutely devastated when he attacked Hogan on Brother Love I’ve never seen anyone say anything bad about the guy. By all accounts, a real gentleman and a sweetheart. RIP
For some reason you can tell he was a good dude. RIP
I saw John Tenta wrestle in WWF and ALL STAR WRESTLING. Seeing him wrestle in Cloverdale in front of 100 people was awesome, And in front of 11,000 people when I was front row when he Beat Hulk Hogan in Main Event on a December 1990 card at Vancouver PNE Coliseum, Sad he is gone.
John definitely deserves to be in any Hall of Fame.
Why cause he died? He didn't have a remarkable career.
Should be in the hall of fame for sure!
Very well done. As I kid I was scared of the Mighty "Earthquake" and I am so thankful and grateful for the Roll John Tenta played in my childhood happiness 😊 R.I.P
Amateur/Pro/Sumo Wrestler, Football/Rugby player and Bouncer. Dude was a badass.
RIP John we miss you
His powerslam was a treat to see. He even did it on Bastion Booger who also was a huge guy showing how strong John was. RIP John.
Seeing Earthquake beat Yokozuna in a sumo match on Raw was priceless. Yokozuna was the hottest heel in WWF at this moment; even if he didn't pinned Yoko, I always felt like it was a huge deal for Earthquake. RIP to both guys. 🍻🍻
I remember watching Earthquake debut on WWF. It was awesome.
I appreciate this channel. It give you the back stories of the underrated wrestlers.
Some of the most well put together documentaries I've seen i came across one of your videos looking for a good wrestling documentary and been hooked since keep up the amazing work. Subscribed.
I remember his tv debut with Dino Bravo and the warrior. I was watching the show with my grandparents just 2 days before my 5 birthday
Very well done! Thank you for all the great info!! John was a great wrestler! 🦈
Excellent,loved John Tenta , absolute legend . R.I.P Big man .
Love what you’re doing! Earned my subscription.
This guy was one of the most believable heels ever!
This is my new favorite wrestling channel. Love the biographies!
That was a great video. Very well researched. I really appreciate your content. Thank you very much.
He looked like Tony Soprano a little bit
The greatest wrestler from Canada. He was good in the WWF. I liked the matches he had with hulk hogan in those days.
Amazing man. A true respectable Canadian man." he didnt tolerates racism and they found it in a hard way"
Rest in peace John 💐💐💐💐
Nicely done mate. I thought this was going to be a slide show. So thank you!
Excellent video!!! Great job on the research and presentation!
Thanks for watching!
Please do one on Haku! Also Bad News Brown Please!
RIP Earthquake. He was big scary dude.
Hey OWD, thank you for quality work on all those US wrestling documentaries. That's great. Sorry for my poor english and greetings from Belgium. 👍

@@Daoloth no wrestler Is popular here in italy. I'm a big fan of Japan wrestling fmw and wing, Noah njpw ajpw and ecw from usa
@@Daoloth yeah I follow Brett fmw
He also has a character in the mobile game WWE Champions. He is a Powerhouse and is one of the baddest characters in the game.
Thanks for the amazing documentary
name another big man that runs the ropes as good as big john
Great video upload interesting to watch cheers m8 loved it so good what a great wwf wrestler earthquake was as well cheers bud
Thats the biggest 18 yr old i ever seen ! God bless you John ! I grew up watching Earthquake rumble !
John was 4-0 at Mania. One of the better records out there! Also when he squashed Jakes snake on TV was one of those freaky OMG moments
Love these, keep it up brah
When I returned home from Desert Storm I bumped into him in an airport. I asked him for his autograph and he said only if he could have mine. Helluv a guy
Brilliant mini doc.
Got the chance to talk to Mr. Tenta a few times a lot of it was about amateur wrestling (HS and college), man was a class act, very nice, and really cared about people.
You'll never be forgotten & always praying for your Family!🙏💖
My favorite "Big Man" in wrestling. A great athlete and a hell of a performer.
Guys a legend. Should be in the wwe hof easily.
Always picked Earthquake in the video games. His finisher is my favorite
Born and raised in Vancouver. Later resided in Florida. Buried in Texas
Even though I wasn't a fan of Earthquake, I loved the feuds he had with Hulk Hogan & Jake The Snake....really agile for a big man & certainly one of the WWF/WWE'S all time greats....Definitely should've been inducted into the WWE HALL OF FAME...
Thanks !
The amazing song at the end is A Wanderer by Peter Crosby
A great talent and a great man, no matter what!
Wow the feels on this one rip John Tenta, one of the good guys🙏🙏
RIP John and thanks for the memories.
Fantastic video
John tenta- one of the nicest men in wrestling. I've heard the stories about how him and typhoon would close down buffets lol. Kidding aside he was a tremendous athlete, he never complained despite some of his ridiculous gimmicks, he always gave it 110%.He's a legend and deserves hof recognition
Very interesting/ thorough doc
Great watch 🙏
good video
Thanks
This is a great channel
Thank-you
Great documentary. Love John Tenta. I feel for his family, losing a Dad at such a young age. Curious what the name of that song at the end is, it's the perfect choice for John's legacy.
Sounds like a Bruce Springsteen type song I think
When I was a pre-teen I used to watch him on Al Tomko's All-Star Wrestling based out of Vancouver B.C. before his WWF run and sometimes I'd see him stomping around Guildford Town Centre mall in Surrey with his super-tiny Japanese wife. He really was larger then life when you saw him in person.
This is great
I got a chance to converse with John many times in the Wrestlecrap forums, and in person. Always a nice and pleasant guy to talk to and sad when he lost his life. He should be inducted to a Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Man, I remember the program he did with Hogan. As a kid I was devastated! I knew wrestling wasn't real fighting, but I was still able to get into the storylines and this was the most repulsive and violent thing I had ever seen.
What a great man, and truly a world class athlete
Belongs in hall of fame
Wow I remember that wwf debut so clearly still.
Ten Ton Tenta, should have been easy to name
Big man needs to be in the hall of fame
He was 🔥🔥🔥
Great wrestler
John Tenta running the ropes is one of my favorite visuals in all of pro wrestling.
Whenever I'm sad, I just watch Earthquake do the sit down splash on Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
I can't believe John Tanta isn’t in the Hall of Fame.
