I couldn't agree more. What's wrong with the WWE. Why because he jumped ship too WCW...? How many other guys did the same or they hired from that company. C'mon guys PUT TENTA IN THE HOF...!!!
Lol. So many scream this guy should be in the hall, that guy in the hall. The Hall of Fame is no place. It’s not like the pro football HOF or major sports. Like wrestling. It’s make believe. It’s just another show.
John "the gentle giant" Tenta! My favorite wrestler of all time! The fact that John still hasn't been inducted into the WWE HOF proves what a disgusting human being Vince truly is! A big thanks for making this video! RI.P John!
John was a gentleman and an all around Badass human!!!! Was honored to help him with his school and be apart of his fundraising shows he put on!!! R.I.P.
The Natural Disasters were a childhood favorite. This was an awesome career retrospective. I've gotten to meet Fred when I lived in Florida but I'm sad that I never met John. The Disasters team deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.
One of the best big guys of all time and such a loss. If he was around nowadays I could quite imagine him making the add appearance at a Royal Rumble or on one of the legends nights.
Happy you included the WrestleCrap period. I was around for that time, and looked forward to his updates. Its when the updates slowed, and then ended altogether, you knew things had turned south. All I can remember was how incredibly sweet he was.
those were some great pics. I'd never seen him that young or that slim before. also, I think he did great job at protecting his opponents during his finisher. it looks devastating, but if you look close you can see how well he does it. nice job.
Some of the most well put together documentaries I've seen i came across one of your videos looking for a good wrestling documentary and been hooked since keep up the amazing work. Subscribed.
Very well done. As I kid I was scared of the Mighty "Earthquake" and I am so thankful and grateful for the Roll John Tenta played in my childhood happiness 😊 R.I.P
In BC we had Earthquake, in Alberta we had Brett and Owen Hart, in Saskatchewan we had Roddy Pipep and in Manitoba we had Chris Jericho. Gotta love western Canada 🇨🇦
I never knew anything about him other than growing up and watching this huge fucking dude they called "Earthquake" wrestle. What a cool guy. I hate learning all of these great things about all of these great people when their time has already stopped.
I saw John Tenta wrestle in WWF and ALL STAR WRESTLING. Seeing him wrestle in Cloverdale in front of 100 people was awesome, And in front of 11,000 people when I was front row when he Beat Hulk Hogan in Main Event on a December 1990 card at Vancouver PNE Coliseum, Sad he is gone.
I didn’t appreciate Tenta enough when I was younger. Truly an agile and fast big man. I remember being absolutely devastated when he attacked Hogan on Brother Love I’ve never seen anyone say anything bad about the guy. By all accounts, a real gentleman and a sweetheart. RIP
Seeing Earthquake beat Yokozuna in a sumo match on Raw was priceless. Yokozuna was the hottest heel in WWF at this moment; even if he didn't pinned Yoko, I always felt like it was a huge deal for Earthquake. RIP to both guys. 🍻🍻
John tenta- one of the nicest men in wrestling. I've heard the stories about how him and typhoon would close down buffets lol. Kidding aside he was a tremendous athlete, he never complained despite some of his ridiculous gimmicks, he always gave it 110%.He's a legend and deserves hof recognition
Even though I wasn't a fan of Earthquake, I loved the feuds he had with Hulk Hogan & Jake The Snake....really agile for a big man & certainly one of the WWF/WWE'S all time greats....Definitely should've been inducted into the WWE HALL OF FAME...
Got the chance to talk to Mr. Tenta a few times a lot of it was about amateur wrestling (HS and college), man was a class act, very nice, and really cared about people.
When I was a pre-teen I used to watch him on Al Tomko's All-Star Wrestling based out of Vancouver B.C. before his WWF run and sometimes I'd see him stomping around Guildford Town Centre mall in Surrey with his super-tiny Japanese wife. He really was larger then life when you saw him in person.
I got a chance to converse with John many times in the Wrestlecrap forums, and in person. Always a nice and pleasant guy to talk to and sad when he lost his life. He should be inducted to a Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Great documentary. Love John Tenta. I feel for his family, losing a Dad at such a young age. Curious what the name of that song at the end is, it's the perfect choice for John's legacy.
Man, I remember the program he did with Hogan. As a kid I was devastated! I knew wrestling wasn't real fighting, but I was still able to get into the storylines and this was the most repulsive and violent thing I had ever seen.
When I returned home from Desert Storm I bumped into him in an airport. I asked him for his autograph and he said only if he could have mine. Helluv a guy
There's is nothing to like about violence as who knows why the other people were fighting? I doubt it was about racism as that's ridiculous, they were probably fighting about a genuine reason and this bully who was trained joined in! And just imagine how embarrassing it would of been for someone having to help you ! Would of been soul destroying! And racism always gets thrown in if you fight a black man when no one cares what skin people have! No one cares apart from the media

Lol. So many scream this guy should be in the hall, that guy in the hall. The Hall of Fame is no place. It’s not like the pro football HOF or major sports. Like wrestling. It’s make believe. It’s just another show.
John Tenta is my dads cousin (Aka my second cousin), my dad has a doll of him and deeply misses him. May he rest in peace, RIP
Thank you for sharing. In my culture, he would be your uncle. He seemed to be a very gentle soul and I was scared shitless of him as a child lol
John "the gentle giant" Tenta! My favorite wrestler of all time! The fact that John still hasn't been inducted into the WWE HOF proves what a disgusting human being Vince truly is! A big thanks for making this video! RI.P John!
You got that right
We went to the same High School... I herd from my teachers how nice of a guy he was... RIP John, gone but never forgotten...
I remember around mid 2000s when he was fighting cancer he used to pop in wrestling forum most nights chatting to fans and telling stories.
late 90s he used to stop by IRC every now and then, undernet
John was a gentleman and an all around Badass human!!!! Was honored to help him with his school and be apart of his fundraising shows he put on!!! R.I.P.
Wow!!! 42 yrs old, which is the exact age I am, and I think man, he did ALOT in those 42 yrs! What a guy! RIP EQ
The Natural Disasters were a childhood favorite. This was an awesome career retrospective. I've gotten to meet Fred when I lived in Florida but I'm sad that I never met John. The Disasters team deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.

Earthquake is the most underrated legend in WWF.
A respectable big man in wrestling, actually fun to watch.
One of THE BEST big men this business will ever see. A legit tough SOB in every sense of the word. God bless you Big John.
Brilliant editing at the beginning, with footsteps and moves in sync with the music! As always, just fantastic stuff.
A true respectable Canadian man.
Rest in peace john and thank you for bringing joy to the fans.

In BC we had Earthquake, in Alberta we had Brett and Owen Hart, in Saskatchewan we had Roddy Pipep and in Manitoba we had Chris Jericho. Gotta love western Canada 🇨🇦
In Ontario we got Justin Berber 🎉
Manitoba isn't western Canada 😂 Saskatchewan is further west and they are smack dab in the middle of the country.
@pauljh1989 That's true they vote ndp and liberal to so I shouldn't of even mentioned them in a sentence

His powerslam was a treat to see. He even did it on Bastion Booger who also was a huge guy showing how strong John was. RIP John.
I remember watching Earthquake debut on WWF. It was awesome.

Nicely done mate. I thought this was going to be a slide show. So thank you!
Excellent video!!! Great job on the research and presentation!

Seeing Earthquake beat Yokozuna in a sumo match on Raw was priceless. Yokozuna was the hottest heel in WWF at this moment; even if he didn't pinned Yoko, I always felt like it was a huge deal for Earthquake. RIP to both guys. 🍻🍻
That was a great video. Very well researched. I really appreciate your content. Thank you very much.

He also has a character in the mobile game WWE Champions. He is a Powerhouse and is one of the baddest characters in the game.
He was 🔥🔥🔥
My favorite "Big Man" in wrestling. A great athlete and a hell of a performer.
This guy was one of the most believable heels ever!

The amazing song at the end is A Wanderer by Peter Crosby

John was 4-0 at Mania. One of the better records out there! Also when he squashed Jakes snake on TV was one of those freaky OMG moments
Great documentary. Love John Tenta. I feel for his family, losing a Dad at such a young age. Curious what the name of that song at the end is, it's the perfect choice for John's legacy.
Sounds like a Bruce Springsteen type song I think
Fantastic video
Wow I remember that wwf debut so clearly still.
good video
Thanks
John Tenta running the ropes is one of my favorite visuals in all of pro wrestling.
Man, I remember the program he did with Hogan. As a kid I was devastated! I knew wrestling wasn't real fighting, but I was still able to get into the storylines and this was the most repulsive and violent thing I had ever seen.
Great watch 🙏
Great wrestler
Much respect!!! Mr. Tenta
He was awesome 👏
name another big man that runs the ropes as good as big john
When I returned home from Desert Storm I bumped into him in an airport. I asked him for his autograph and he said only if he could have mine. Helluv a guy
2:38. Welp. Already liked him before, but now he's invited to the heavenly cookouts 😂

This is excellent! Can you please tell me the song you used at the end?

A Wanderer by Peter Crosby
How did he die at 42..... I always thought quake was born looking old, sadly missed, wonderful human being
Big man needs to be in the hall of fame
