Kamala deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. His character, his contributions to the business should be celebrated.
I believe all of devastation incorporated should be in the WWE HOF
We also have a great US VP name Kamala Harris 🇺🇲
@@trevorcarey3997that Kamala sucks
I met him. He was a kind, generous sweet and friendly bear of a man. He cemented my love of wrestling for the rest of my life and I'll always thank him for that. As a 12 year old kid his kindness touched my heart and I was so hurt when I heard of his passing. Rest in everlasting peace Mr.Harris, love from a fellow Mississippian

Your Awesome ......i met the bear too, I had lost my parent at an event he stayed with me and help me find them .
I was really young , but I really recall his kindness and size I was saddened to hear of his passing

My grandfather used to take me to watch him in Dallas when he was wrestling against the Von Erich brothers. Seems like a lifetime ago ordering a burger with the fries in a basket watching him walk in the ring. Good times
Damn get a room or something.
What a humble and down to earth man, R.I.P. Kamala💖

@SpaceAce100 LISTEN! Did you know that Jo Buyed-In announced his VP, KAMALA HARRIS on August 9, 2020 which also happens to be the same day that former professional wrestler KAMALA, whom of the same real last name, James HARRIS, passed away at the age of 70!?! Now Ya Do...
I was infuriated Enraged 😡 at WWE not giving a tribute to Kamala after his passing 😭 it breaks my heart that WWF Legends like him didn't get recognized we as hardcore wrestling fans dedicated and honor their legacies
He was a great man. I meet him at his home in Mississippi after traveling back to Illinois from Arkansas with his grandson and his grandsons mother. We sat and talked for hours about his life when he wrestled. The stories he shared were amazing. Rest in Paradise James "Kamala" Harris. It was an honor to have known you.
Today on things that never happened
He would have been so proud to see his daughter running for president. RIP Kamala.
Great Doc! It's sad to hear they took advantage of him so many times. RIP🙏
I met him as a kid.. I was scared shitless seeing him slowly walk towards me knowing it was scaring the hell out of me, until he smiled and winked. in that wink and smile, I saw the kindness in that man and was a fan from then on.
Damn, Good video! A lot of these old school wrestlers never got their true due! He should have been inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame before he passed! Great character from my youth! RIP Kamala 😔
Just got done typing that in a different comment. He really deserved to be inducted long ago. King Kong Bundy isn't in, either. Both should've been inducted in '04 or '05. So they could've enjoyed the recognition.
Vince screwed a lot of wrestlers in the name of the business. I hope he goes back and make right.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Kamala was always so intriguing, and scared me as a kid. He was totally screwed by the WWF! RIP Kamala. Thank you for this video.
Breaks my heart every time to hear his story, he was used by corrupt people, but his legacy will always be remembered, thanks for childhood memories, R.I P
Great bio of James "Kamala" Harris. Didn't know Ultimate Warrior looked out for him like that. I feel the promoters took advantage of him for knowing that he wasn't well-educated. He should have made even more but just like any other business the promoters act like used car salesman, especially those matches he had against Hulk Hogan. RIP Kamala.
🤩
@lil Thrifty I don't think Hogan looked out enough for him, money-wise.
Jim (warrior) knew Kamala when they were both in World Class.
As a black man I feel whether he was educated or not the money wouldn't change Because they devalue black men especially in his era. Oh my job I got a man that makes more money than me and he can't even read baby Reid all he does is talk about The Bible but hes white in this all that matters In this society
True story I had to be around 6 or 7 years old my dad took me and my grandma to watch wrestling when they came to the coliseum in Alexandria Louisiana. My granny loved wrestling you couldn't tell her it was predetermined. Kamala came out and she threw the chewing tobacco she was chewing at him. I had never been so scared for me and my grandma lives. I thought Kamala was about to do something terrible to my grandma but he didn't. I'm 44 year's old now and it left an impression on me that I'll never forget!! RIP Kamala & Grandma..
Btw Great Documentary I learned things about Kamala that I've never heard before 💪🏾💯
So it was ok for her to basically spit at him. Grandma was just as bad as Vince.
@@kchillhall1968 you youngsters have no idea what wrestling was like back then. People actually believed what they were witnessing was 100% real because it was so protected. Kamala was a monster heel from some strange place in Africa and was doing horrible things in the ring as well as killing chickens by biting them on the head and squashing them with bare hands. Heels used to have to get spit on nightly and burned with cigarettes or stuck with sewing needless on way to ring because they were evil viscious bastards ( you were led to believe)
@@kchillhall1968 Roddy Piper was stabbed heels took a ton of heat in those days
@@kchillhall1968 get over yourself. You obviously never went to rasslin matches back in the day. I could tell you some good stories but your to caught up in seeing race in everything. Sad really.
I love Kamala, one of my all-time favorite wrestlers. Nobody could've portrayed that character like Mr. James Harris did. Thank you for the amazing, awesome memories and continue to fly easy, Sir. 🙏
Certainly did not expect to hear that about warrior. He's my favorite, but you never ever hear stories like that about him. That's pretty F'n awesome.
I thought that too. Changed my opinion of Jim. Not that I knew him or thought he was a bad guy. It nice to hear positive stories.
I was surprised to hear that the ultimate warrior helped Kamala, I always hear the negative conservative/Republican smear stuff.
One of my favorite wrestlers. I totally believe he was under paid! Thanks for the memories and big splash in heaven Mr. James! RIP
Duhh ur totally right he was underpaid
It was all politics
He doesn’t even have a headstone 🪦
@SpaceAce100 that would be the decent thing to do!!
But I won't hold my breath.
@SpaceAce100that's ok you can best believe Vince is going to get all the payback that is due to him. The best part about it is, he really thinks he got away with mistreating people! Boy he's in for a big surprise!!
Dude. I've been following your channel for a couple years, and I gotta say, you're getting better and better with every new video. From your scripting and delivery, to the audio quality, use of music, graphics, depth of information, everything, you've really found your groove. Your passion is immediately apparent, and your investment in attention to detail is exquisite. Hats off to ya, brother.
Thanks , I appreciate that and thanks for the support!

I loved this character. Underrated character but one that made my childhood awesome
Very respectful the way you put all this together
Thank-you!
An Incredibly well done documentary great research and brilliantly articulated keep up the great work

@@OriginalWrestlingDocumentaries my dad’s favorite wrestler
How sad. This guy really suffered, had a real reason to be angry, but maintained his kindness to others. I wish I could have met this gentle giant.
Kamala got paid chicken feed compared to what he had helped contribute to WWE & WCW. That man helped put people in seats a lot more and better than other so-called WWE superstars! Hulk Hogan has confirmed this.
My dad(also named James) met Kamala back in the day when he wrestled in the UK. My dad was working as security for the event he said Kamala was a friendly man he complimented & thanked my dad for doing a good job. He offered to buy my dad a drink & they talked about Anguilla(an island in the Caribbean) where my dad is from, he recommended if Kamala had a chance to go on a vacation he suggested to Kamala to go Anguilla & neighbouring islands of St Maarten/Martin(another place my dad grew up in the Caribbean). Like Kamala my dad caught Covid January 2021 whilst getting dialysis treatment too luckily my dad had the jab late last year & is ok now but gets shot of breath occasionally. I had called my dad the day I found out Kamala passed which was the day after my dad's 81st birthday, he was upset & that's when he told me he met Kamala. Unfortunately he doesn't have the programme of the event & a picture he took with Kamala as it's been lost over the years but he had a nice thing to say about Kamala. R.I.P Kamala.🇺🇬🔪✝️🖤

Absolutely. One of the best reactions to Taker I ever saw..He was an awesome performer 💯
I'd run from Taker too. Especially when he's in a bad mood and you're in his yard.

Yeah, I remember watching that as a kid on TV. It really made me afraid of the Undertaker. Looking back, it was great for 'Taker, but it didn't do anything for James. It really was messed up how the WWF treated him.
S d!'
He was a legend here in the Louisiana territory back in the day.
Mid-south
@illmerica yeah midsouth was predominantly Louisiana and some MS, AR, & OK
Arn Anderson Talks a good bit about his time in midsouth on his Podcat, the episodes about his early career. He mentioned towns in Louisiana that I was very surprised to hear Arn Anderson bring up. It was cool
Very well done man! I was 13 years old and remember the Memphis Wrestling vignette like it was yesterday! Kamala was such a great character. Thanks for the memories Mr. James Harris!
Kamala was a legend and a big name draw for so many companies, including the WWF. He didnt deserve to just scrape by with a disability check later on in life. RIP.
I would love to blame Vince McMahon for not giving Kamala his rightful money.
Big name draw😂 he was never a big draw.
I was able to meet him in Ottawa-Ontario- Canada, got to take photo with him, I remember him making me laugh when they snapped the photo- he is trying to choke me in the photo, rip the great Kamala thanks for playing amazing character..
A great report. I enjoyed watching Kamala more in WCCW than the WWF.
As successful as his career was, it was equally sad, painful, and unjust.
Not long ago, I listened to a Steve Austin classic interview with Kamala. The man was incredibly humble and sincere. Kudos to Austin and his professional demeanor.
Yes, the Undertaker’s the Undertaker. However, I’ll never understand why The Undertaker receives $500000 and Kamala $13000 for their match. In my opinion, incredibly unjust.
Thank you for the memories and R.I.P.
I seriously doubt Undertaker made $500,000 off one match. Most wrestlers weren't paid as well as folks think. Why do you think they carpooled around the country, night after night? They were out hustling for a living.
@@sodeepopkid6855 think he meant 50k
A sad ending to a really cool and down to earth brother. Shame he had such a hard life
Another brilliant documentary!
Thankyou!
The Kamala character was that one character when I was a kid that I was scared of but loved at the same time when watching wrestling... I am extremely disappointed to all those wrestling organization that used him for big draw and paid him practically nothing... Kamala will forever be my most favorite wrestler and Character... RIP...
I could type the exact same comment.
I wish Vince would've taken care of him better & inducted him into the H.o.F. back in the day. He should've been inducted in either '04 or '05 among the rest of his contemporaries. Him & King Kong Bundy- both very deserving & neither in the H.o.F. Bundy was half of the most dominant tag team of all time alongside Big John Studd & was the main event against freakin Hogan in the second ever Wrestlemania- still not in. Wish they would've inducted them before they died. 🤷♂️
It's always the wrestlers with silent roles that seem to be the biggest humourous characters.
The time it takes for you to create these videos is evident and they are jam packed with facts, photos, and video clips. I look forward to your new videos and keep up the excellent work!
Thank you, I appreciate the support!
We love you James !🖤💯
I have no words. What this man lived through, both in and out of the ring, would be enough to break most people. RIP
Thanks for this. As a little kid growing up in Memphis in the '80s, I remember arguing with a kid about wrestling and somebody was like "nuh uh, Kamala ain't real, he live in South Memphis" LOL. Well, I guess he did, lol
I've seen numerous interviews with him and he seemed very bitter towards the wrestling industry and rightfully so. Those promoters screwed him over big time. And how would Dave Meltzer know how much he made or didn't make to comment on it? Anyway, R.I.P to him. He seemed like a guy who turned his life around to be a good guy but naive to the business world and very naive to the slimy wrestling industry. I am glad to see that Lawler, the Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan tried to help him and that he had strong friendships with JYD and Koko B Ware. R.I.P. brother.
He had a great career but it fails in comparison to how great a person he was I was lucky to get a the chance to meet him a few times in character and out of truly a gentle giant with a heart like few others rest easy
I remember working at Wendy's and they had a wrestling event that night and after the event he came through the drive through we all recognized him even without the face paint, we are starting calling his name and he just started laughing, real nice guy!
Kamala The Ugandan Giant will always be a legend. I loved watching him back in the 80's
Respect for starting his timeline with Robert Johnson!!
I was trying to listen to the song when i first started the video. And i was wondering if that was indeed Robert Johnson. Thanks for the confirmation
Great work and documentary. It was compelling and thorough. Great job!
Wow great coverage of Kimala 'The Ugandan Giant'. This man had a hell of a life!
Thank you kamala for everything
Andre seemed like he would bully everyone and if they stood up to him they got his respect.
absolutely fantastic! Thank you for making this!

So good. I remember seeing Kamala wrestle the main event at an armory in a wisconsin college town, when I was just a kid. Great memories. Keep up the great work.
Very informative and well put together. You put some time into this. I enjoyed it. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Rest in peace kamala. As a wrestling fan in the mid 80's I was so afraid of kamala. A 9-10 year old kid seeing him walk down the aisles was the most scary thing in my life.....What a kimmick what a performer.
Ha ha me too i thought he really was captured lol
Mr. Harris, you're story is heartbreaking and inspiring... The world lost a true jem when you passed.

Met "Kamala" at a Christian wrestling event in the early 2000's..along with the late Luna Vachon...Such great memories of both..Great documentary...RIP
He should have retired from wrestling as a MILLIONAIRE!! Sad how most of the promotions he worked for just used him and CHEATED him out of the money he DESERVED as one of the BIGGEST draws and heels..especially Vince in WWF...and Mr. Harris took that resentment to his grave..sad that happened to him..I love his song.."if I had a dollar" rest on my man..🙏👏👏👏✌
If I had a dollar...smdh 👏👏👏👏..carry on ....✌

Just discovered your docs and they’re so good, quick and with lots of archive footage. As a hardcore fan from 90 onwards it’s great to look back. Some other bio’s are far too basic. You really do get deep.
Fantastic work. A great voice as well.
Thank-you, I appreciate that!
Great documentary. Saw him vs Hogan in 86 at Boston Garden. I remember crying in fear as I was only 4 years old and yes I truly do remember it. What a gimmick Lawler came up with for him. A perfect fit. He truly became Kamala similar to Macho being Macho.

Thanks fpr the great doc, all meat and no filler.
It's appalling how he was used and cheated. He lived a difficult and hard life. Rest in peace James
Thank You for this presentation it keep the REAL history of these people alive
Him along with George Steele were the first wrestlers to capture my imagination. I hate the things he had to go through!
I just watched a match between those two & I think the biggest move was a body slam. Yet it was way more entertaining than most matches of today where they're doing all their crazy shit. They were characters & used those characters to tell a story. I don't understand how they've lost that. We know it isn't real- it's the characters people enjoy! Wrestling was more theatre back then & so much better. We used to get to watch crazy live plays, now we watch gymnastic routines & choreographed dances. Which have their place, sure- (sigh)It just isn't the same. Why, back in MY day...😆
George Steele allegedly was the biggest Vince kiss-ass. And the Lockeroom didn’t trust him
Got to see Kamala when he wrestled for Jim Crockett Promotion's NWA Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. Saw him at the Lynchburg City Armory in Lynchburg Virginia, he wrestled Magnum TA in a cage match. Never got to meet him, but from some comments on him, he seemed to be a great guy, with a good heart. Sadly he passed away last year (2020) due to COVID-19. May he RIP, and his wrestling memories live on forever.....

Oh MAN what a great video. Kamala used to intimdate the SHITE out of me as a little kid when I was watching WWF wrestling during the Golden Age. What he did to Hulk Hogan (who within a year I was burning in effigy during my teenage edgelord phase) scared the hell out of me, as kayfabe was still real to me despite growing suspicions.
