I met him back in 1995 in the Boston Garden the night before it was torn down during a WWF "A Night To Remember" event with the legends such as Nicolai Volkolf, George The Animal Steele and many others (got all of their autographs and pictures taken of them) and he was a great guy. When he signed his name I asked him if I could ask him for his "Mario" autograph as well. His head looked up to me in shock as well as a very humble smile and he said no one has ever asked him for his autograph as his Mario character he worked in the Super Mario Brothers Super Show and he said he was very honored to make that wish true. In his own words he told me no one else ever asked for that and I am the only kid in the world who has the one true and only Mario autograph now. To this day since his passing, no one since ever made that request to him and he even talked about our meeting that day just days before he passed away during an interview. It is still in my possession proudly next to the picture I took with him and George Steele. I can say I am the only lucky guy on Earth to have the one true Mario's autograph!...and he played the part perfectly, too! He did tell me too at the time they were in the works on bringing back the show, only updating it while keeping the original formula as well as using himself again and his co star who played the role of Luigi, but when the script was finished finally he was ailing and the script sat in limbo as we call it in our acting industry in SAG-AFTRA. I would have definitely watched it!

It can not be overstated how important Lou Albano was to the explosion in popularity the WWF saw in the 1980s. If not for Lou, Wrestlemania 1 may have never happened. I know Hulk Hogan was probably THE most important element to the next-level success of Pro Wrestling, but Lou Albano was arguably just as important in those early years. Aside from Bobby Heenan, Lou Albano was probably the greatest manager ever in Pro Wrestling. PS: Monsoon's expression wasn't "fountain of misfortune", it was "fountain of misinformation". Usually, he referred to Heenan using this expression, but it may have started with Albano.

We ran into him on our way to get a drink or something. He was just standing outside the door of the gym watching the match that was in progress through the window in the door. He was super friendly with big smiles and hand shakes for all of us. True what they say the heels are usually the nicest guys off screen. A guy I used to work with, his brother is married to 1 of Lou's daughters. He had some great stories. A legend, changed the business forever

He was the best!!! The best talker, so damn funny, such a witty speaker. Him.and Muraco together were maybe the best manager/ wrestler team with both such great talkers.

@theitalianskunk… One of the funniest squash match of a jobber was the Don Muraco match of him eating a meatball sub🥖during the match 🤼‍♂️ & then taking a swig of Coca Cola to wash it down 🥤 as he pinned his opponent😂 BUT then the funniest thing occurred after the match as Capt Lou was coming down from the wrestling ring he slipped on a meatball and fell straight onto his *SS!🤣 ( But seriously Thank You Captain Lou Albano for all the years of entertainment that you provided )👍

Man i miss my childhood and cap lou, he'll always be a wrestling legend and a great person. I remember meeting him, snuka and think it was eddie gilbert in parking lot back when wwf was small enough that they still ran local shows in colleges gym. Snuka was ok, gilbert was an ass but lou was so friendly with us fans.

It's because of Lou that I learned about the high protein, low carbohydrate, virgin's goats milk diet.

When I think of managers who tried to copy him, Sir Oliver Humperdinck is the first one that comes to my mind!
