- Hey guys! Today we're taking a look at Salon Care 40 and how it can be used to restore various sneakers and video games! When parts of a shoes or video game console has yellowed you can use Salon Care 40 to deoxidize the areas and bring them back to life!

@@jonathanaviles4966 Yes it will work on Air Forces and I left them in the sun for about an hour I think. Depending how yellow the shoes are it will take less time or more time than that

You're suppose to let them sit for about 8h to remove completely the yellow from the white. I usually let my shit sit for the whole day until its starting to get dark

Dreamcast, NES, SNES, PS1, Gamecube. Any console that has plastic that has yellowed you can use this on and it will work!

A few questions please: 1. did you dilute the developer with any water? 2. can we use the developer for the leather part of the shoe and not the sole? 3. doesn't the sun usually make the shoe more yellow- this is what actually happened to my shoes because I left it in the sun. Now I want to remove the yellow stain on the leather part without painting it please. Can you advice? Thanks.

I did that and it restored them that to white. But a week later the yellow start to come back and I didn't even wear the shoe. What should I do to keep them looking white and brand new

4 sessions of 24 hours with UV light for shoes. If you can spare about $60 to make a light box it’s be worth it if you will be restoring shoes. I looked at this video to come up with a plan to rotate UV light with sun light to save money on electrical bill.
My shoes would get stolen if I left them out for even 20 mins 🤣is there any other way

I got Jordan 5 fusions and the white patent leather on the toe cap is super yellowed, they’re from 2006 hella old, with that salon 40 work on them ?
With patent leather you can use rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball. It won't make it completely white again but it'll look much better

Omar Reynoso Yes but I believe you will need an ultraviolet light bulb (not 100% if that's the exact name of it)
Omar Reynoso Go check out Reshoevn8r UA-cam channel and look for a restoration with Vick video where he removes yellowing from shoes. He has an indoor setup to do the same thing

as long as it’s some sort of oxidation like yellowing , it should take it away , for example ive seen people use salon care 40 for the belugas midsoles and it works.

Wipe off the shoe with a napkin or towel, then wash the shoe off with water and a brush then dry it then repeat

I have some gray nike sb tauntauns with gray soles that have become discolored/yellowed. You think this method would work on gray soles, or is it only effective for white?
It should still work. I turned my Super Nintendo from yellow back to grey, you can check the video I posted today to see the results

Both sides. One side at a time so the sun in the sun them flip over and do the other side.
@@TheToyRoom so I do one side use the wrap to wrap that side n to turn over without making a mess n then do the needful side just wrap the the glad wrap under the shoe to the next side or use two diff wraps n then tape it? Sorry if I'm asking too questions

Yes it do. The 40 in Salon means 40% hydrogen peroxide. When you get peroxide for cuts THAT'S not even 40%. That's why it gotta be this brand

Yes, 50 is stronger!
Yea it's better and more effective but you have to leave it out for less time or else it'll burn the rubber.

Salon care 40 doesn’t work on the retros with the sunlight too well. I tried 4 2hr Sessions on 3 different pairs and the results are the same. Maybe it works better with the UV lights and more time under that close, direct light source
It also depends how bad the shoe is and the sun where you live. I'm in south Florida so the sun is brutal here. Ideally though it would work better and quicker with some UV lights in an enclosed indoor setup. 👍

I've never tried it but I've seen some people say it doesn't have any effect on the netting. You could try it, it won't do any damage to it.

It will only work on the rubber sole not the actual leather. But getting it on the leather shouldn't have any effect on it. I'm not 100% sure on that though so proceed with caution

The Toy Room i tried different ones, like angelus sole bright, 40 volume cream(not that brand) and even tried the retrobright stuff, the soles of any shows i tried it on would start turning back yellow the very next day...what wud u suggest?

If you’re going to use the sun method you have to let it stay in the sun for 3 or so but always clean the bottom very well to get good results

Yeah it does work if it’s like extreme yellow then it probably take you longer but if there only a little bit of yellowing about 2 hours each side to get them completely white again
