Very nice, I just clicked on to this searching classic's. I also have one of these with a similar purchasing story. This one was purchased by an OCD owner, both covers deluxe & standard. The deluxe cover is still in the original package as are all the spare rub trims he purchased. All documentation & more, original EZ Loader deluxe trailer. It was in storage for 15 years & properly winterized. It is perfect better than new showroom condition....not a imperfection of anything. @@classicjetskis I disassembled a Di engine with 216 hours on it. The big end crank bearing failed due to water ingestion. The rest of the engine was in extremely good shape. Pistons, cylinders and air pump piston and rings were well withing spec. People say a 951 with more than 200 hours is living on borrowed time. I disagree. Hey Joe Miguel again. Sailing past your neck of the world, through the English Chanel, which prompted me to write this post. I need to let you know that I couldn't hold on any longer. I decided to take my XP Di ski into WaterWorld, our SeaDoo dealership, to get it checked out. Mike is the only mechanic 🤪 in SA that I trust to ever touch it! He thought I was joking about finding it in a storage unit with 0.00 Hrs on it and just had to see it for himself. Turns out it had never even been PDI'd He was like a little kid opening a sweet box and smelling that distinct XP Di out the box new smell when he opened the covers! Then, he started to crush my expectations and warn me that it has been sitting for so many years and the history of all the issues. My nerves were finished! Having read all the issues and listening to everyone telling me that it will never work, the fuel pump... the electrics... bla, bla, bla... I didn't know what to expect, and Mike didn't make me feel any more comfortable either. So, we fitted the battery, poured in a few liters of 95 octane, made sure the 2 stroke oil was full, plugged in the key, said a little prayer 🙏🏼 Beep, beep, beep &... VROOM!!! 😎 I have never seen him that excited!!! To start a ski that is 19 years old but brand, spanking new at the same time is just insane! It was like Christmas 😊 We put it in the tub and ran it for a few minutes just sniffing up the 2 stroke fumes, giggling & laughing with a few high fives just because we can 😂 Needless to say, I took the brand new ski out to the Vaal and had the most insane weekend with good friends and family. Absolutely incredible! I will let you guess how many hours my ski has on the clock now. If you or any other admirers guess right, I might even send you a few XP Di Rated pics and videos of how we do it in SA 🤪
Awesome vid, keep them coming 👍. I've got a ~110hr 2004 XP-DI myself (still with the learner key too!), really fascinating skis. Despite the problems a lot of people have with these, you just can't get anything like this anymore.
Nice! Such a shame there was only 2 years. I love mine, the aesthetic for me is stunning, don’t understand why they never did a red carb version. The hate for the di is from a lack of understanding for the correct maintenance. While I’m not a huge DI fan, I do appreciate them. The very last model years I think was 2005 they sold alongside the RXP but I love the graphics. Bright white. Look really cool with the red. However, if you ever get a chance to ride an X4 hull with a 951 conversion, you’ll open the door to obsession. There is nothing more terrifying and wonderful.
