@3:17 the direct translation is "I can't look, my legs feel soft (like jelly)"
I just found that wording funny from Lu, who has giant quads
Lol! I think he meant he was so nervous his legs were shaking
This is a perfect showcase of specialization. These men are legendary world champions but they are just average guys when they are out of their element.
@@sauceyethan The video showcases that they wouldn't.
An average beginnner diver is expected to at least be able to do a somersault off of the 5 meter platform, and an average beginner lifter is expected to at least press half their body weight.
In China children get selected at a very young age for their potential in a certain sport, and then put through a sports university. Which means most athletes in China will be hyper specialized (in terms of training and body type).
Mash Exactly, that dude doesn’t know what he’s talking about. World class athletes in their specific field are still a league above the average person in pretty much every other sport/field. I think I could beat either of these guys in table tennis and maybe basketball, but I’d probably get stomped in everything else lol
@@tomcheng660 You are quick in saying that I don't know what I'm talking about while maintaining the utmost confidence that you in fact DO. Very modest of you.
You probably think athletes have an edge over average people because of the amount of training (or because you are from the US where average is leaning towards obese and sickly)?
High level athletes, especially Chinese athletes are hyper specialized. Lu has incredible fast-twitch muscles, which makes him inherently weak in cardio and limits his flexibility far below the point of a regular less muscular person.
An average person would have a large physical advantage over Lu in stamina and/or grace related sports, which is most of them.
Semper Ludens Very modest of you to say all of that and still somehow try to assume my nationality. You have a point with the fast twitch muscle argument, but I guess we have different opinions on the capabilities of an average person and the various fields that they would compete in.
@@semperludens9241 not disputing your overall point, I quite agree on the whole, but FYI Lu Xiaojun is actually very flexible, as are most Olympic weightlifters. flexibility is not about muscle types but is mostly neurologic, even hulking bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman could do full splits. supposedly, Olympic style weightlifters' flexibility (not powerlifters) is second behind only gymnasts on average
another interesting case of specialization is the huge difference between running jump off one foot and standing off two feet. there's a video "Im Körper der Topathleten" part 2 showing an Olympic high jump champion doing a two-legged standing jump and it's pretty bad. turns out that has no bearing on high jump.
they’re so friendly to each other 💗💗 lovely to see athletes enjoying the art of other sports 😭
one of the rarest videos on youtube that portray China without prejudice.
actually the rarest video on UA-cam would be a UA-cam video played inside China criticizing China because that's impossible you go to jail for that. one has to consider when criticizing how China is treated in the press that there is no Free press inside China... Nonetheless both athletes are great.
@@christopherhanna5754 there are plenty of those inside China criticizing China in UA-cam. That you dont see them doesnt mean they don't exist. I guess you don't understand chinese. Living in an european Country decades I only know even with free press it can not solven some small problems. They do talk but only talk. That's why Europe is always weaker and being weakened. True free press doesnt even exist.
Chinese doesn't really care what the west says about China. Barking dogs said Trade war are easy to win. LOL
@@christopherhanna5754 Your ignorant made me laugh
Doesn't China refuse to use Western aps? Lol they have like a duplicate version of ever possible popular app people use for Chinese citizens. Vpn's to access UA-cam? Wow. Much pure.
One of them is constantly fighting gravity, the other lets gravity do all the work for him.
This comment should go up up up
"But actually" you do have to fight gravity pretty hard to be able to complete 2.5-3 somersaults by the time your body is lower than the platform.
You said it in such a poetic way
its so interesting how much he can lift over his head but a handstand is still difiicult
Daniel Chachanashvili breath with your hands down deep breath then do the same with your arms raised up high, he just isnt used to the difference i think
Probably was more of the approaching the edge part. You could see he did the handstand easily but near the edge he hesitated
Well I guess a handstand requires more balance than just lifting weights over your head
Montexic thought balancing 170kg above your head is harder than balancing his own 77kg weight
specificity my son
I really like how much respect they showed each other. Lü had no problem chickening out on the higher jumps because A) he respects the sport of diving and the diver and B) because he is respected by the diver and doesn't feel like he would lose respect by not jumping off the higher platforms.
Also being a high level athlete, I expect that if he was just a bit scared he would have jumped, so you know that if he's not jumping, he's probably scared shitless of the height.
2:25 Lu's reaction to the hight was adorable! You would not expect to see that on the beast that his is!
Table tennis and badminton swap!
Yes please do this!
with Chen Long and Ma Long would be great!
There are tons of videos on Chinese social network of the Chinese table tennis national team players play badminton and tennis.
badminton is far easier to catch up than table tennis
almost 95% chinese young play ping pong... not gonna be a fun video
I just came here to see Xiaojun in a speedo
Vicki Lee lol
same!
I just came
They could have shown them walking up the stairs of the diving board from a better angle 😕
@@erinp.420 If a man said that about a woman he would be ripped apart.
Top ten anime crossovers
Samuel Rai 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 MADE MY DAY🤣🤣🤣
This is actually a good use of “Top ten anime”
Snakepham Youre here! What a cutie pie!
@@jackal8607 please explain?
lol Lu Xiaojun such a gym rat show off, love it
Tbf if i was Lu the goat xiaojun id do the same
Haha dude ure gonna show off if u can, no one is always humble
He's not anywhere close to his PRs.
Oh honey. When a pro look at a amateur in his/her environment...you know they cannot helps to flex it.
Swimming and running/sprinting swap! :D
dang, this is actually a great channel, I was unaware of all the content they make here
glad I found out
I watched 5 minutes of this before I realized I didn't understand a single thing they were saying
Same, i realised i didn't turn up subtitles for like 4 mins
you should turn on captions
DUDE OMG ENIUFWNEIFJEWJWEO
Chen Aisen is so cute!
This is an extremely cool format! Keep this up please! :]
Lus a goddamn legend. Shame this video only has 65k views the world needs more of Lu
chen is lowkey cute not goonaa lie
Chen Aisen is literally the Yuzuru of diving- and they look so similarrrr
Omg i love yuzuru too❤️❤️
They're such bros it's great. More natural than the other crossovers.
As a diver in college, turned weightlifter, I can’t even believe a video like this exists. I’m impressed.
man i havent seen anything from Lu Xiaojun in a long time, missed him very much :DD
6:03
YA YEET
9:08 aisen actually swore in midair lmao
while maintaining perfect form
omg lol what did he say? I guess the subtitles didn't translate it!
@@jeffrendered3564 omg that's so funny lol
@@Floatingshrimp he said F U as in you chickened out at the last second
@@lazycatBill lol got it that's funny
hahahahah....when the big man bailed out from the 5m jump.... almost spat out my beer haha
One thing i notice between them which is difrnt is they respect nd love each othrs qulties...
Awesome chemistry!!! Honestly made a more fun and entertaining viewing experience than many of the swap videos that were in English
Chen looks so cute!
That was such a nice video.. Had me smiling the whole time.. We need more of Lu
Who else think Chen is quite good looking?
Except he is 5 foot 6
@@albertweedsteinthethuggeni7797 typical Asian
@@albertweedsteinthethuggeni7797 Short guys are even cuter.
A humble looking guy... And cute too 😁
he's extremely handsome and cute and charming
I love these videos cause they are just having fun and trying something new
Hey this is actually a good show
yes! we need more weightlifting content. this is awesome
Nice swap and fun to watch!
Whoa! You guys got Lu for one of these! He’s one of my favorite weightlifters! But Anyway, after seeing the trampoline/basketball episode; and seeing them in the trampoline/foam pit in this one, you guys should do a trampoline gymnastics vs diving episode! Lol, I’m Lu in this one.. on the diving platform that is 🤣! I love how he’s scared out of his mind on the higher levels. I know how he feels, I’m afraid of heights, and I also can’t swim 🤣
This is brilliant! Glad I finally bumped into it. This must have been a popular production in China
9:08 the moment Chen Aisen tasted betrayal 😂😂 “WOCAO!” (which means f*** in Chinese)
Hi exol
Wonderful sportsmanship. Thank you!
Lu just wanted to show off his abs let's be real
Loved this more please :)
7:22 Ah yes, I love when my relatable beginner friendly content involves a casual handstand pushup, very humanizing
Love this series! Would recommend distance running to distance swimming
One of the few videos that show Lü Xiaojun’s family name correctly 😄
I think a gymnast could probably do both really well! I've heard of lots of retired gymnasts transitioning into both sports
Gymnast couldnt charge this amount of weight
retired gymnasts moving into weightlifting? I thought the retirement age for both sports were pretty similar, so thats surprising
Most divers do gymnastics as children before going into aquatics - some actually get to quite a high level in gymnastics before they quit to focus on diving
I enjoy this so much. such a cool and innovative content
I searched for Chen Aisen and this showed up. I’m so happy
8:47 ok imma let that slide
Daniel Toncinski 😂 I was about to comment this too.
Lmaaoo
那個 na ge (they spell it as Nei ga, tho') it means -that-
im dead
😂😂😂😂facxxx
this was so interesting yet entertaining!
WoCao means AMAZING in this video
They have such a fun personality. I hope to see more videos like these. =)
I just love this. Even if I did`n`t under stand a word they were saying. Lu Xiaojuns reaction on the 10 metre would have been exactly the same as mine.:-D
Great show please do more thanks
Awesome feature! Very entertaining!
wish there are more episodes like this!
It’s so funny seeing them be complete beginners in each sport. I completely relate to the weightlifter being scared of the high towers. I’ve dove off of them headfirst out of peer pressure and after the first couple it felt way less scary, but that first time especially is enough to make you walk back down in fear it’s truly intimidating.
Fantastic video!
Fun episode! Respect
papa xiaojun
jack jack gets crushed by heavy weights by the daily but cant jump a ramp😂😂😂
哈?
That was a really fun video
Click to see Lu Xiaojun in swimming pants.
They’re just having fun, and that, to me, means so much in the terms of my knowledge towards American prejudice against China
Why did he start with a 10 meter tower?!!😂
Masters in their own field.... great to see both of them
Thanks, it's really funny!
Respect to these athletes.
9:04 Lu's legs are always ready to squat.
I love this series. 😊
Love both of them! Impressive 👍
What about gymnastics and pole vaulting swap
they were both so nice!
I think how LyuXiaoJun from Weighlifting change sport but its real in the video 😆👌,Olympics channel always had some idea for video content in sport that normal people didn't about it 😅 ,I didn't believe the thumbnail until I watch the video 👍 .
Hallmark of mastery is to make extremely difficult skill look easy. As they've shown that even though both are extremely athletically gifted, what they make look easy still is very hard for the beginners.
reminds me of that mr bean diving episode
OMG! I can’t take my eyes away from Chen Aisen’ armpits
why is there a compound bow in the thumbnail when compound archery is not part of the olympics.
could this mean that compound has a chance to be in the olympics in the future? just curious🤔
pls do more videos like this
Xiaojun looks so good in his speedo. I hope I can have a body structure like that.
Always run if a weightlifter says we will have some fun
omg i love Lü so much hes so cute
Clean and yerk??
Nahh I usually do it backwards i yerk and clean
.... then i get sad of what i did...
Long jump vs Basketball crossover!
I hope that I can try both dive and weighlifting
Whats that Jump in 9.08 called and are there tutorials for it?
I’d like to see a weightlifter try some of the strength elements from gymnastsics.
i wanna see a trampoline olympian switch with a diver now. see how well they adapt.
Do a fencing vs rowing switch. The two sports are really kind of opposites, and I say this from the perspective of some who proficient in both if could say so myself.
More like this pleaseeee
This is such a cute video, love it
Great Content 👍 ,I can't stop laugh 🤣
You should try for badminton and table tennis sports swap...
Do more of this
they were both great sports!
Should have been done with a springboard diver. Springboard takes more power, similar to weight lifting.
diving topics are welcome. Cool.
Nice video ❤😂
shot-put and high jump swap!!!
I could divers and long jumpers doing a sports swap?
the translation is even culturally aware: Chinese "OK" becomes a English "Very Good" :D
RE 8:48, for those too dim to - know, Chen is speaking Mandarin, not English
- click "cc"
- realize that an epithet would be totally out of context of what Chen was saying
- deduce that had some else (not Chen, the gentleman) actually expressed that word, it would have been edited out.
