    Kyosho should sell a ready set, with all the mods you did here.
    No idea why they wouldn’t, it would sell like crazy.

    Like you said, these definitely would be nice if Kyosho sold it. I may give it a go. Still waiting for my Front One way and Rigid Axle then we'll see about modding. Thanks for sharing!

    Very good video. I think CS 120-150% was the best in MINI-Z AWD.
    Because over 150% of CS, oversteer becomes stronger, fatal in the straight line, and loses the freshness of AWD.

      Thank you! Yes the idea of irreversibly cutting and sanding these parts is a bit daunting, but it's a very satisfying mod and makes the ma-020 special! Good luck and let me know if I can help with anything.

      Yesss i did it!!! and it works.
      only had two difficulties because i am using the long wheelbase and i had some red straight china axle in the back (they used m1x3 sunkenhead screws) good luck making them shorter.
      probally going to glue the crown if the screws don't hold.
      but yeah i am happy with how it turned out , thank you for the video!!

    Thanks a lot for this video tutorial, i have some of these diffs on order, would i need to do these technical alterations for this model? (as some models seem to just slot right in even if they are 020 chassis. Kyosho Mini-Z AWD Subaru Impreza WRC 2008 (MA-020/KT531P). Again thanks!

    Very good video! Whats the benefits of this vs rwd and vice versa? :)

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  10 місяців тому

      Thank you. For people interested in the fun and challenge of RC drifting, RWD is the way to go. It's more realistic but of course more difficult and more expensive. There are many people who already own a MA-020; CS isn't the easiest mod but it's something different to try. CS feels noticeably different from normal AWD drifting.

    Bonjour ! Je suis novice dans cette pratique , que veut dire CS pour la convention ?? Merci !

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  Рік тому

      CS means "counter steer". For AWD drift cars, it means using a front one-way diff and driving the rear wheels faster than the front. This gives the car a little bit of a rwd drift characteristics, including the need to counter steer drifts.

    What's the best chassis for mini z awd specifically drifting

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  10 місяців тому +1

      In my opinion in the mini-z line, ma-020 is the best awd drifter. The brushed system is more than powerful enough, and it's got good low end throttle control than the brushless ma-030evo. As an extra bonus, autoscale body compatibility with ma-020 is much better than ma-030evo.

    What tired are u using on this car and does it work for dws as well?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  2 роки тому

      I'm using DS Racing LF-5 drift tires on the ma-020 right now. Without examining the DWS backend in detail, I'm not sure if the mod will work the same. DWS uses a different set of spur gears. My guess is that it will work too.

    should i do this mod if i have the gyro? How easier is it to drift without the mod?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  2 роки тому

      The stock ma-020 is pretty easy to drift nicely. If you use the gyro, keep the sensitivity to a pretty low setting. The CS mod actually makes it more challenging to drift compared to stock, but the car behaves more like rwd drift. To me, that's fun and more realistic.

    If I bought the same setup do I need to grind and do that to my gears in my MA-020? Or can I just install it without that?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  2 роки тому +1

      Yes to use the provided gears in the box, you will need to grind/cut the gears in some way. The only place I'm aware of where you can buy the CS gears is ms-racing.shop-pro.jp/?pid=86660690 but shipping is probably not cheap.

    I have the red Metal ball diff. Don't remember the company but will i have to get a different differential to make this cs mod work?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah a ball diff isn't going to work for this mod. You need something with a crown gear that can be shifted further to one side to accommodate the larger gear on the central drive shaft.

      I've done the mod and will test more in the morning. I need to file the shoehorned gear a little from binding. Do you use a gyro? Just curious if you would recommend turning gain down after this mod.

      @sammybaka  2 роки тому +1

      @@anti-popfpv4638 Awesome! I do use a gyro on mine, but mostly because I already have one. The gain setting is quite low. Any more gain would make steering sluggish. It would work fine without a gyro too.
