Great video! However there are many steps before doing the CS mod that could make your ma-020 be a more unstable and feel a bit more rear biased. First and foremost remove the gyro completely. This is a huge handicap that makes things way more difficult. Second you are using a quite grippy carpet from the looks of it. Now I get it, it’s probably hard to exchange it to something better, but you can do something about your tires. Why use the LF3 instead of the LF5 since you drift in such a grippy surface? Try the LF5 and I truly think you ll see the difference. Now if your car is too “stable” and can’t oversteer easily, try changing your toe angle. Fit the smallest tie rod you can find. Large Toe out angles work wonders on AWD drifters. Also try to fiddle with your suspension. That is something you ll need to test, depending on how your car behaves on your surface. In my experience a bit of a softer suspension (medium soft) in the front and medium in the rear can help you achieve the oversteer effect that is clearly missing from your car. Also make sure you adjust your camber especially in the front in such way that the leading wheel has full contact with the surface you drift on when turning with the steering being at 100%. A lot of people overdo it and achieve the opposite results by adding too much of a negative camber angle. Last but not least, try fitting wide wheels in the back. You can immediately feel that your car will be way more rear-biased just like that.
R32, very nice 😎 Great video but please take that gyro off & unleash the beast!! What RWD chassis did you get btw? I feel you on switching back n forth between AWD & RWD, that’s the main reason I haven’t made a dedicated mini-z video in over a year. Once I went RWD I never looked back. But now watching your videos I think I wanna try the CS mod & see how much agility I can gain with AWD. It would be cool to see my Zs hold a candle to my RWD builds.
Of course you like the R32 😂 I’m really happy I bought it! I’ll be putting a video out soon for the RWD! It is really tough to switch back and fourth… I’m sure I could remove the gyro after a solid battery cycle or two and get back in the groove! CS mod is the way to go though for the AWD 👍🏼
modifying it to cs was fun, driving it, not so much... maybe i need to try on other surfaces. but it seems far less controllable, most likely mini z doesnt offer enough steering angle to control steering angle. cheers
Ratio is really stupid high. Not gaining control and need for gyro to undo the effect of this dumb mod. Dish gyro to have control and 1.2/1 ratio gives enough breakout pressure. Gyro takes away fun and smooth control and transitions. I won’t say gyro work is random but but with ratio like this it’s taking away the time to handle direction and speed. Full control is gained with speed and direction not with a wobbly tail and a gyro. Believe me throttle and steering (with a proper range 67-80 degrees and little toe out and the diff setup locked and oneway gives more control) drifting is all about that. I don’t hate gyro but for drifting the keep you from developing skill and the results will be less dynamic and less smooth.
Let me know what you guys think about the new CS Mod!! 🤓
Great video!

Thank you for the tips and the write up!!
@@furiouslycollecting I agree besides the gyro lol, cs is impossible to control without gyro🤣
@@braelighty6212 glad I’m not the only one who thinks so 😂
@@braelighty6212 4wd is ok, rwd no gyro is uncontrollable.
You can try less grippy tires, might make drifting in carpet even better
My k989 ive been building is only ever almost right. I have a rwd mini z, but thats a nogo. Ill probably watch this again when i have my awd.
New here awesome vid I subscribed
Thanks for subbing! 😎🙌🏻

Posted the video for the no gyro.....
Be cool 😎
I bought extra parts and I going to commit of doing this. Thank you
Nice! Lmk how it goes!!
I recently got two chassis by kyosho I need the one way to give it an e brake rwd feel?
Correct 👍🏼

100% agree! I ended up putting mine back to stock 🤓👍🏼
HKS R32 is dope
2.5 cs mod you should try, that little bit close to rwd drift, but you should turn down the gyro, nice car btw, cheers
Thanks for the comment! Think I need to get a less grippy track surface
@@furiouslycollecting youre welcome,do the front spring very soft and rear hard, you can try, good luck brother
Thank you

I went back to stock ratios with the rear locked diff. Sometimes simple is better 🤓
