Ollie's obsession with being structures or inanimate objects is both adorable and incredibly funny.
This is a person who would really like object shows
True
Oh boy…him and me both!
I would absolutely go as the Barbie Corvette!
@@synth348WE NEED HIM TO WATCH AN OBJECT SHOW AND GET A THEORY YES
Being human is so hard 😢 nice to get away.
Something tells me that Ollie's gonna grow up to be some kind of architect or engineer with his costume choices 💀💀💀
While he was going through the costumes in the pictures, the only thing I could think is "Oh gods, Mat's Nerd & Steph's Nerd created Nerd Squared.
He gonna do big things someday
Right? All his costumes are buildings or building-adjacents.
such a cute kid
He's awesome. I'm hoping for a video of boy's long hair styles.
Ollie is gonna be one of the coolest, weirdest, funniest and most unique cosplayers when he grows up
Next year he's gonna want to be a bridge
Halloween 2029: The entire map of GTA 6
He’s secretly the newest reincarnation of that dude who went to a comic convention cosplaying as the building the convention was hosted in
💀
I vibe with Ollie and his desire to be inanimate objects. Mad respect.
MatPat Theory: The reason MatPat created style theory was to let his inner theatre kid out and film videos in costumes.
I believe he admits that that's part of the reason, but hasn't specified the percentage.
I also did theatre and enjoy dressing up. I guess I now know why I do cosplay so much.
Definitely
pretty sure thats all his channels lol
I swear at 10:28 I thought she was about to talk about raid shadow legends
The fact that Ollie picked local infrastructure for costumes when he was 3 is impressive - Steph and MatPat have one smart kid there.
True like he rly wanted to be just a building and a carved rock
Orrrr, he was heavy into preschool programming like Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine, and various others.
@@morganseppy5180 why not both?
Ÿęªĥ?
Like father like son
Bro I’m legit excited for Amy to be the new style theorist this is amazing
0:55-1:02 😂Yep Ollie truly is his son. Very fun Halloween history lesson & showing Matt Patt trying on older costumes! It was also fun to hear from Amy for this episode! The baby turnip Jack-O'-lantern was awesome too!
Mat, Steph, and Oli in their architectural halloween costumes is the most wholesome/confusing thing I've seen all day
😂😂
the nightmare before Christmas saved Halloween
It’s creative
I asked myself if I was actually watching practical engineering.
*_indeed_*
I genuinely thought my childhood costumes were strange and abstract, but I'd have NEVER thought up "water silo". That kids DEFINITELY MatPat and Steph's. No worries that he got swapped in the hospital.
What did you dress up as?
And in the old days, where kids went collecting grain, he would have been the only one the neighbors didn´t need to guess who it is.
Matpat is a waitress in the fnaf movie
Frfr so true .
I went as an eggplant one year (thankfully in the days before emojis). I wore my favorite dark purple overalls over a green shirt, with a little green collar my mom sewed for me to resemble the top of the eggplant. No one had any idea what I was supposed to be, but I was thrilled all the same.
I’m living for this commentary on Ollie picking halloween costumes. Ollie is a true fashion icon.
I love the attention to detail when they did this: 21:55
I mean the subtle-ness to the FNAF did on point 👏
Highkey loving Oli's self-expression in this. No pirates, or soldiers or stereotypical boys costumes, just infrastructure and video game characters. I love it.
Video game characters that ARE structures, no less
Steph and matpat are going to be the afton family and Ollie will be happy frog
@@amateur_codplayer
Springtrap, baby, and no not ballon boy, but exotic butter
@@THEJPIndustry fr
lol I can see him becoming a worldbuilder ironically
Ollie choosing the most unconventional costumes for Halloween just seems really on brand for the Patrick family.
Matpat is the mad lad (he isn’t the number 1 cringiest dad he’s the number 1 best dad literally letting his son pick the costume theme and then if it doesn’t exist he’ll MAKE it exist)
"Shrek is love, shrek is life, shrek is a fantastic pair of pants" -MatPat 2023 32:02
Man, you've gotta love the amount of dedication Mat and Steph give to encouraging Oli. If he wants to go as a thwomp, they go along with it. If he wants to be the freaking BARBIE CAR, they support him with that. It's really freaking wholesome. Well done MatPat, you are truly a dad inspiration.
It's HIS costume. Let the kid run around as a block of spikes that does nothing but go up and down crushing you (or left to right like Mario Maker 2 allowed), or as a plastic pink car that can't drive on its own (unless it's the actual "life sized" car that was just accidents waiting to happen). And giving him credit to make a bet at this age with his own dad, saying "I'll go along with your costume idea if it's more creative and spooky, otherwise I'm being the pink car." This kid knows what's up XD he'll go far in life XD
I misread "Oli" as "Oil" and stopped breathing for a split second from the sheet AUDACITY at someone even JOKING about MatPat supporting any Big Oil company.
Matpats boi wanting to dress as inanimate objects for the last few years is the most unique thing I've ever heard for halloween
If only he chose a Lightning McQueen or a Buzz Lightyear
@@carsfan1995but every other kid are those 2. But no one ever thinks of a Store from an episode of a cartoon😂
Reminds me of when I dressed up as a light post one year.
Though my favorite is still a hand sanitizer bottle. It even worked thanks to my grandma.
I loved Dave the Gnome! The sad/happy ending still sticks with me to this day. 🌳
Yes, awesome reference
style theory idea: is it beneficial to wear the exact same outfit everyday, and if it is what would be the best clothing choices?
Seeing the architectural costumes Oli picked for his family just goes to remind me that he's being raised by one of the smartest couples on the internet. Love his goofy little imagination. Adorable
I love how Oli is usually an inanimate object: water tower, Thwomp (technically animate but not very), convenience store, and car
Gotta appreciate consistency
18:28 I am dying watching matpat in the background
Going to miss you Matt but I cannot wait to see what Amy can do for Style Theory when she takes over fully.
I am living for Oli’s mysterious obsession with presenting himself in the form of mysterious sentient objects
Given the ID fantasy reaction I’m sunrises he hasn’t choices obscure dinosaurs precursor species as a theme
Wouldn’t it be such a trip if he made that “attack helicopter isn’t a gender identity” comment and one year his toddler requests to be one? 🤣
Ollie wanting to be a water tower for halloween is honestly adorable.
Shoutout to Amy for the voiceover for this one! Really loving how much involvement from the rest of the team food and style theory are getting these days!
1:00 W costumes
2023: matpat secretly dresses up as MUUUUUUSIC MAN🔥🔥🔥🔥
yes!!!
MUUUUUUUSIC MAAAAN
MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSIC MAN
MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSIIIIIIIIIIIC MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN
MUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCC MMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNN
ollie inheriting the obscure gene from his dad with his costumes makes me so happy 😂
Didn't expect the 1920s era of the first sanctioned american halloween would visually slap so hard actually. The book with the bats the reds the checkers etc are freaking dope. Im honestly kind of surprised.
Tbh, despite Mat not being happy bout dressing up as Barbie & Ken I WANT TO SEE OLLIE IN A BARBIE CAR
I love that Oli doesn’t like the human characters, Nono, the true art lies within the structures
Not going lie: totally jealous of Ollie's Thwomp costume! That was so cute and such a great idea to use a SpongeBob costume as the base of it!
Man I love seeing cute family stuff with Ollie, Matt and Steph 🩷 so wholesome 🥺
22:23 I hate that because he has brown hair, MatPat is reminding me of human version Shrek from the second movie (aka, the best shrek movie and no I will not take comments on this)
I love those costume ideas that Oli came up with.
Gotta respect the creativity
He's awesome. I'm hoping for a video of boy's long hair styles.
Day 9 of asking for this Style Theory idea: Are 3 in 1 bottle products more efficient than buying the three bottles separate?
Spoiler alert no there not. You need different chemicals for your hair and body. Body wash isn't supposed to be used on your hair bc the chemicals can destroy the integrity of your hair. Just like shampoo or conditioner isn't gonna clean your body right.
@@meganalexis6346 If the soap you use on your body has chemicals that will destroy your hair, you might not want to be putting that anywhere on you.... That said, from my understanding, there's a difference in oils on your hair than on the rest of your skin, and also in how much of those oils you want to remove. Soap removes too many oils to work for your hair usually, and shampoo doesn't remove enough from your skin.
@@meganalexis6346*they’re
No, but it would be cool to see a video on it
Are 9 in 1s? Lol
Amy was born for this! And I love her for it
30:54 matpat is unhinged
i like to think that oli's costume choices are just gonna get better with every year... the water tower was a solid start
As someone with a mostly Celtic family background, I really appreciate Amy not only discussing Samhain, but also making the effort to pronounce the name correctly. It shows the theorist team is respectful of an ancient culture that is too often sidelined around this time of year
Same! When they said only 100 years I was like no its WAY older than that for dressing up!
I know! I only recently found out that I live in one of the countries that made the original Halloween and I think that's so cool!
Amy did what Doctor Loomis could not
Okay ......
Have you watched Halloween 2? I think you'll hate it because Dr. Loomis pronounces it wrong. 😭
I would DEGINETELY buy 21:50 ngl. Pls make that merch.
This kid love being side characters that sometimes don’t even have lines or anything this kid is cool with being second fiddle
This family seems like the exact type to have the most random halloween costumes.
That Thwomp costume is so wonderful!!
I fully support this child and his desire to dress up as iconic structures.
28:00 I don't have any evidence to back this up, this is just an observation & mental connection I made; but the way that the moon looks along with the wizard-like pointed hat with stars? It reminds me a LOT like the wizards from the "A Trip to the Moon", a silent-era movie made in 1902. So it would seem that even back then, they were making costumes out of popular movies, or in this case, ANY movie, since it's supposed to be cheap, yet recognizable to see & have in general. Plus, it's very fitting how they started with a costume made for marketing a movie to ending with another costume for a completely different movie 100+ years later.
We are all going to miss you matpat!!!
Honestly I think everyone being Barbie and Ken for Halloween is epic. BarbieLand in the real world so it’s a meta costume.
Right?? And being able to say: “HI BARBIE!!! ~ HI, KEN!!!” to each one you pass is SO FUN!!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻💖💖
I gotta say, as a parent of youngish kids myself, I am loving this relatable era of DadPat.
25:01 he looks like a tiki torch😂
Fun fact in Ireland the skekler are called mummers, they are sorta the same thing but instead of having a cone hat, the mummers have mask that cover the full face
As someone from Anoka, that city takes so much pride being “The Halloween capital of the World.” Everyone would deck out their houses and it was truly a bigger deal than any other holiday. Anoka practically starts celebrating Halloween in August and doesn’t stop until thanksgiving.
I taught at Anoka high-school for a few years and the students would shame me for not going all out for Halloween
I'm not from Anoka but as fellow Minnesotan I feel so proud.
(Also please tell me there is a Spirit Halloween in Anoka)
@@Pryexel There isn’t one, but there is a pseudo spirit halloween they just set up.
@@Pryexel no it's next to the chucky cheese in blaine/northtown
as a fellow citizen of anoka, i concur
It's so wholesome that you guys let him choose your outfits. He has some of the best ideas I've ever seen
Your sons is a legend 2:30
AMY IS A COSPLAYER!? OH MY GOSH, GIRL YOU ARE SPEEDRUNNING YOUR WAY TO BECOMING ONE OF MY IDOLS!!!
I love how conceptual and architectural his Halloween costumes are 😂 I wonder if they are any indication of his future interests?
Dude the kid is literally being raised to be a Mini-Matt.
BROOOO! That Thwomp costume was amazing, especially for a DIY paint and craft job. If I saw that in passing on the street, I wouldn't even question it.
So you WERE in the Fnaf movie aaaand we’re all very happy for you. Congrats man.
5:22 you mean, “you KENda like it”?
Ah, that wasn't so bad was it
Gotta give ollie props to these insane costume ideas 🤣
I’m uhh... may I ask WHAT is your profile pic??
Gotta respect Ollie’s creativity 😂
AMY IS SO FUN WE NEED MORE OF HER
NEED TO SEE MATPAT IN DRESS SHIRT AND SLACKS ⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️
Fun fact: that vacuum sealing technique they used to make the 50s mask is the same thing they use to make bleaching trays and night guards in dental offices 😌
23:33 a fact not mentioned that i do love and that everyone knows some places still do this to this day, minus, the fire and sacrifice, most famously Mexico with dia de los Muertos aka, day of the dead
Shout out from Anoka MN.
The ending to David The Gnome is something that still haunts my adult life.
It wouldn't surprise me if I saw Matpat walking around New York in a Shrek costume
I am from the UK and I can say that the traditions and costumes are honestly really cool. My favourite is Mari Lwyd where you have a person dressed as a horse with a horse skull on a pole and you have to rap battle the horse (usually in welsh) to stop them from coming inside and eating your food
RAP BATTLE I LOVE THAT 😭😭
The reasoning behind this video is precious.
Genuinely given the theme choices, I'm surprised it wasn't sonic, tails, and the biplane
ollie has iconic tastes in costumes i love it
XD matpat your son is very creative, his costume ideas are awesome, when he gets older he should design his own costumes so others can buy them
I have never heard of a person wanting to be a building as a costume
Man I love Amy's sarcasm through the entire vid
Especially the part about Mat's dignity lol
Am I the only one that actually kinda likes the 20s paper costumes? Just seems like a perfect vintage throw back (also the most wholesome throwback considering the offensive outfits of the 50s and bland pillow case costumes of the 30s, lol)
I can tell Amy had LOTS of fun with this video. It really is impressive how much work was put into this one
17:55 It looks like the drawstring is on the opposite side of the stain... So it probably came out the back.
Mat's son would want to be a water tower for halloween.. Mr, "I want to go as the history of Halloween"
I love that they let Amy take over the narration, i honestly like her voice
Ollie having the most architectural costumes is such a patrick family thing 🤣
Matpat I got a style theory idea…. Is it okay to wear clothes day after day
Ollie as a thwomp is probably my favorite thing ever
29:02 "Please feed me one candy" Now that's a costume idea: you're Mr.TomatoS, Steph is Ms.LemonS, and Ollie is a Lemon Boy Tomato (it's the fruit trifecta) 🍅🍋👦
Tbh Matpat just created this channel for his inner theater kid to shine and film funky videos in these costumes :)
"I am the cutest little sailor boy."
Why is his son like this , truly the perfect kid for matpat to father
Oli dressing up as a water tower is so sweet. I hope he keeps his joy of water towers.
I love the back and forth bewteen Mat and Amy in this episode, especially knowing they recorded separately because it flows so naturally!
But also I just have to mention that I actually gagged when Mat put on those stained pants. That’s not something I imagine any of us will recover from
Do my eyes decive me? Homestuck pfp?
@@NebbyTheProtogen I’ll never escape it 🥲
Exhaust silos 😂😂😂
Matt is growing a junior Mathew the right way 😂😂😂😂
YOur kid pivoted from wanting to be AN ENTIRE STORE , to the barbie CAR.
is...your kid alright mat?
Lol
To be fair. In Elementary School I was in a Yu-Gi-Oh phase and wanted to be the Magician of Black Chaos. I pretty much made the entire costume with the parents help, but I fully back Ollie's choices on being out of the ordinary.
Yes DadPat! Cringy dad man of the internet is in again.
Amy's my favorite Goth...so adorable.
I love Ollie's ideas! My parents used to have the same problem with me when I was younger, I always wanted costumes that required so much work.
One halloween, I went as a giant Lego block, another halloween, I went as Mario's Kart... Then my dad helped me make an Eiffel tower costume when I was in high school...
Amy be rocking that critter cosplay with the Jester and Laudna cosplays. Fandom crossovers always take me by surprise
Matt: My Kid picks complicated Halloween costumes.
Also Matt: I wanna dress as the entire history of Halloween.
GuuDz: yup, thats his kid. Apple fell onto the tree with this one.
Okay, I love Amy’s sass.
