Respect to you sir, this kind of fault finding and fixing is at times very mind bogling. You have all kinds of reasons why a car would cut out, but the combination with no dash and no lights on at times at least put you on the right track... Can be tricky though! Very nice to see you don't just replace items when faulty but try to find the real root cause (making you better understand problems in the meantime).

I have the exact same problem with my 59 plate clc.I have been through a similar process to yourself with trying to diagnose the problem and in the end I took it to a Mercedes specialist. They have told me that I need a new ignition switch and the part would cost £450 and with labour it would come to £600, I would also have to provide them with proof of identity and proof of ownership etc as it is a part of the car security system. When the car cuts out while driving it mostly will re-start but if the engine is cold or you are going slow it cuts completely and you loose the power steering and power assisted brakes and has caused me some uncomfortable moments. I am very grateful for your video and intend to have a go at this repair in a couple of weeks time. You do not seem to have used any special tools to get the ignition switch out of the car and you don't show how to take the switch apart so I guess this is within the realms of someone with basic mechanical skils ?

Thank you for this video! I was worried I had serious problem with immobiliser or even auto-box. Would you recommend I take this to a car electrician, or a local-mechanic to get the fix done? How much should they charge me for this? Since I know this is the problem I can show them your video how to fix it.
Well... are you 100% sure that this is your exact problem?
A couple of hours labour I would say...

Hi. I have this issue it’s been going on for months now. Driving me insane. I need it sorted. Are you anywhere near Kent ?
Hi
Not, I am not near...
Have you confirmed that the root cause is the same?
Thank you for watching!
LM Auto Repairs it’s most definitely the same issue. I think I found someone that may tackle it for me. The vehicle wants to cut out and underpowered. But all starts from the start up issue.
LM Auto Repairs does the key have to be recoded again ?

@@LMAutoRepairs best ignition switch internal component tear down and explanation. So awesome. Now i know which component can go mechanical fatigue. I have push button start, but i keep it in glove box, as i love real key in ignition slot. Safer for me in terms of confirmed ignition 1 and 2 position. Thanks once more for your kind sharing🤗
@suryaprihadi2258
Not a problem...
Thank you for watching!
what if you leave it like that what happens please??
Leave what?
Sorry... but I am confused with your question...
if i don't fix it
@@arbribatusha9155
If you don't fix it, you will carry on having the problem...
Sorry, but I really don't understand the point...
In this video, the issue was that the car would randomly cut out...
If i did not fix it, would carry on cutting out...
Am I missing something?
🤔
