Caner, please make a video about how you moved to the US to fly as a foreign pilot. Visa and immigration requirements
Best Aviation content creator. Am immersed into your videos. Thanks for sharing such great content.. You deserve more subscribers
Hey Caner, I live in Houston and currently enroll in flight school. I love watching all of your videos very informative. Please keep it up I’m always looking forward to it. Hopefully I get to see one day.
Great video and super detailed information, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Your channel is an absolute gem! Wishing you nothing but the best in the friendly skies
Much appreciated!
Wow Caner amazing story and so great to hear your prospective about the US and its aviation. We are lucky to have such a brilliant pilot flying the friendly skies. Congratulations & Welcome aboard 👍✈️
Thank you for the kind words! I'm super happy to be a part of this family!
I love your videos man! We need more videos about life in emirates
Thank you so much for your support! I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I'll definitely consider making more videos about life in the Emirates. Stay tuned!
Thank you for making these pilot videos Caner, I hope to start my flying career soon after I complete my Engineering (Electrical) here in Canada and these videos encourage me to stick to my goal. Thanks!
I'm so glad to hear that my videos are inspiring you to pursue your flying career! Keep working towards your goal and never give up! Thanks :)
Always great content. Would like to see a video about how you handled converting to an FAA ATP license before moving. Thanks.
But...... the hard part is to get a green card
no ,airline pilot can get EB2-NIW green card in U.S
@@user-vk4zm8wr8dthat is by no means a sure thing. Plenty have spent thousands with immigration lawyers only to be declined.

I actually thought you were a Finance major. But it does show when someone has scholarly expertise. Kudos to you 💪🏽
I have a Business Management degree along with my other degrees. However, I do love personal finance. That's the one of the most important things that we need to know. That's why I'm trying to improve myself on finance :)
great content! can you make a video about roster? thanks!!
Hey Caner love your content , can you do a video talking about the roster there in the US ??
Great video! The information was very helpful and well-presented. I have a quick question: What is the typical timeframe from applying for an EB2 NIW visa to getting an interview with United Airlines and starting to fly with them? Thanks!
Hi Caner, it is interesting looking at the rate in which Airlines in the USA are hiring. Glad that you had the opportunity to come to the USA and work for United Airlines. The opportunity that you have to visit family in Turkey is an added benefit during your extended days off from work.
Hey Ben! You are right! I'm super happy to be here in the US as a pilot :)
@@CanerAcarbayhi can I know which place u studied to become a pilot
Hi Caner. Awesome video! It is really inspirational. Just wondering, how did you get the green card to work in the states? Did you get your own or was your airline able to sponsor you? Thanks
I just bumped into your channel, great info. Just wish you would make a video talking about the path to reach the US legacy airlines. I guess is not a topic that you can talk much about? How much it cost to get your faa atpl, did you have to get your licenses before applying to the visa? Did you have a broker handle all of this for you?
Hey Caner! Great videos from your side i just wanted to know that what's your visa status in us which visa do you have
Abi selamlar rica etsek THY hakkında da vidyo yapar mısın, özellikle Cadet programından sonraki 10 yıl için,
Teşekkürler,
Hi Caner, thank you for great video, could you please share with us how to become US airline pilot ? I think thats the hardest part in all pilot dreams to get job in US while beeing on another side of the world. But you might know how to overcome it ?
Nice video! A small little wish: Could you maybe make a video on how to move to the US / get a VISA or green card to be able to live and work for an airline in the US? Also with things like licence transfer the whole process seems very compicated. Thanks in advance!
Maybe also about the requirements, for example I have seen that Delta requires a 3? year degree, which you might not have if you straight up did you ATPL
Thank you for your comment and suggestion! I appreciate your feedback and will definitely consider making a video on how to move to the US and work for an airline. Stay tuned for future content!
+1 thanks Caner. You are great
Excellent video Caner! I am starting flight training in approximately 2-3 years. Would you recommend getting a degree if I am aiming to fly for US legacies?
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. As for your question, getting a degree is definitely a good idea if you're aiming to fly for US legacies. It can open up more opportunities and give you a competitive edge in the industry. Best of luck with your flight training!
Hi Caner. Can I ask you how you managed with the visa? I am considering the process but it seems very hard and expensive to proceed in this sense. Thanks
Great video . Please guide about green card also
There's nothing I can help you with. Either you have it or not :) I got my green card through the DV lottery :) Therefore, I don't know how to get a green card through different visa types.
@@CanerAcarbay mmmm strange soooooo many people won the green card with the lottery! at least when you ask them.... what a coincidence eh???
in reality majority of pilot that fly in the us got married..... so there's a big difference between reality and what people claim in public )))))
Hi, Caner, thanks for the video. Will really appreciate any information about the transition from the ICAO license to the FAA one. Did the airline assist somehow, or you have already had US documents?
Also want to know. I have FAA commercial But ICAO ATPL.
Also want to know. I have FAA commercial But ICAO ATPL.
Hello Caner, thank you for the video😊. If you change your base in US, does that affect your seniority position?. How do you advise European students, who wants to be a pilot in US? Because if they peruse an FAA license first to get hired in US earlier and this does not happen, they can’t be a pilot in Europe. Also, students who wants to be a pilot now, should they do it first than earning a degree? So they can take advantage of the high demand or do you believe that having a degree should be first?. Thank you so much in advance and for these videos, it helps a lot.
Hey, when you change base, your relative seniority will be changed for this base as well. There is one global seniority in US legacy which basically shows your seniority in the company and there is relative seniority which is decided based on which base you are in, what airframe you are flying to and the most important which position you are flying (fo/capt)
Hi Caner, i am from India, and saw your channel today and immediately subscribed it, as your content is very good and different. I wanted information regarding Cadet Pilot Program of Emirates, My daughter wants to join this .But kindly advise do Emirates hire there cadets after completion of course , as dont have that 1500 hrs of flying experience or cadets have to look for job.How can she apply for US airlines after 2 or 3 yrs of flying as I was told US airlines only take pilots who are US citizens. It will really helpfull if you can make video on Emirates Cadet pilot program also.

hey caner, hope you are well. I wanted to ask a quick question regarding how did you apply to united airlines and how did the green card work and other stuff you needed to work in the US. thanks Kushh
Hello bro!
Maybe you can do a video talking about us mayor jobs and how you can get green card or EB2 for pilots it will be wonderful ❤
Thanks for the idea! I'm planning to make a video about these topics :)

@@CanerAcarbay tuo need 10 years of experience.....did you have that??? or did you get married??? these are 2 completely differen things...I cannot have any damned visa for sua because I don't have 10 years of experience
Hi! You make brilliant videos👍🏼 they are very helpful. If it’s possible invite colleagues from different aircompanies such as Qatar, fly Dubai and others to know their cons and pros, it will be too helpful for pilots (expats) from all the world as it’s amazing to be hired in USA because of absent of green card 🤷🏻♂️
That's a great idea. However, No one would join. We all know the reasons...
I’ve got about 4000hours on the 737 in Europe. I’d love to work for a US legacy. However, how on earth is it possible to get a pilot job in the US without a green card!? I don’t think it’s possible.
Hey, great video.
Just a couple of questions:
Did you have to convert your EASA ATPL license into an FAA one?
How many hours do you need to have to be hired into a legacy airline?
Thanks in advance :)
Yes, he had to convert. There is a video in his channel
Yes, I had to convert my license to an FAA License. I had 4500 hours before I joined my company :)
@@CanerAcarbay thanks! :)
what do the major airlines prefer in a candidate while hiring… experience as a captain in a narrow body or as an FO in a wide body
Both of them are good nowadays. However, Being captain always works better for US Legacies.
Hey I love your videos, was just wondering… do you find pilots without a degree being able to get into the legacies. I have started my flight training right out of school in India. Was thinking how long it could take or if it was possible for me to get into the American majors
Absolutely! While having a degree can be advantageous, it's not always a requirement for getting into the legacies. Many pilots have been able to make it without a degree by focusing on their flight training and building up their experience. Keep working hard and pursuing your dreams!
I’m also doing my flight training in India currently. Do you happen to have a green card?
@@ansshanand nope not yet
Thanks for the new vid! How did you get the green card??
given that he has phd, NIW seems to be the answer i guess...😊
Nope, actually he got it via the DV lottery
That's correct
@@CanerAcarbay That shows I'm a true fan right 😏
Great video! Can you tell us what is the average take home money? After federal taxes in the place you’re living? And taking away maybe also the average cost of living? How many dollars can you save yourself in the bank account end of month, roughly. Thank you!
Thanks for watching! The average take-home money after federal taxes and considering the cost of living can vary greatly depending on where you live and your individual circumstances. Also, here as a pilot, you can double your salary if you are willing to have 10 days off in a month rather than 17 days. Therefore, unlike other carriers in the Middle East or in Europe, pilots' salaries change significantly based on individual performances.
Having experienced what it’s like to live and work in various states, I can confidently say that none compare to the vibrant life California has to offer. Especially for a pilot like you, California is a treasure trove of opportunities waiting to be explored. Despite what you might hear about taxes or the cost of living, the quality of life and the sheer number of opportunities available here more than make up for it. Los Angeles, in particular, is a bustling hub where your career can truly take off. Surrounded by stunning landscapes and endless skies, your work will feel more like a dream. Trust me, moving to California is a decision you’ll never regret. The state’s rich aviation community and the lifestyle it offers are unmatched. So, don’t let concerns about expenses hold you back. This place has so much to offer, and as a pilot, you’re in the perfect position to make the most of it. California isn’t just a state; it’s a way of life that you’ll absolutely love being a part of
Can i ask how many hours youve flown before applying to the us ?
How long it took you to move to the USA from a paper perspective?
I live in Canada and wish to go to an affordable school in USA graduate and start working in USA. Any school suggestions caner ? please any good advices
What did U do about the VISA?
This might be a random question, but how are you able to get hired at a US carrier?
What’s the age limit to join those legacy airlines ? What about the cockpit environment ? And training ?
There is no age limit in the US. It's discrimination, and It's not allowed in the US to limit hiring based on age. The cockpit environment here is excellent!
Thank you so much for your answer , deeply appreciate, very kind of you, best of luck for your future bright career in the US 🇺🇸😎👍
Hi Caner, Did you consider raising a child in the us? This is my key problem with the country. Can you make a video about the EB2 visa? How would you do it if you didn't have a green card? Thanks!
In the future, If I ever have kids, I'll raise them in the US. I'm planning to make an Eb-2 visa video!
how do you find living in Houston? do you think you will stay there long term?
I do enjoy living Houston. After Dubai, I adapted to Houston quite fast. Moreover, Life is more affordable here compared to other cities in the US
Hey mate how were you able to fly in the US ?
How did you get your permit to work?(Visa, or Resident Permit)
Hello sir, how old were you when you started? Do you think 29 is too old to start a career in aviation? Best regards
I started at 23. 29 is not old at all to start aviation journey :)
How can you get a green card though? The EB2 visa yes but to be allowed entry via it is very difficult. I know UK pilots who have 10000 hours kn wide body aircraft and captains some of them, some with 1 or 2 masters degrees, and they still don't get a green card via EB2....!

I can confidently say your talents are too valuable to be limited to Houston alone. Your professionalism, skill, and dedication to safety and passenger comfort are unmatched. It’s clear that your abilities would shine even brighter here in California, where the skies are vast, and the opportunities for aviation excellence are endless. If you’re considering a change of scenery, know that California’s vibrant aviation community would welcome a pilot of your caliber with open arms. Don’t waste your time elsewhere; the Golden State is where you truly belong.
A legacy airline, flying a 737 and based in Houston?
Very very easy to figure out where you work my friend 😂
Your current carrier situation is no brainer but if you hadn't won green card would you have stayed in EK?
Yes, I would definitely stay in EK.
Training and not Checking here in the U.S.
But what about the passion to fly as a job it sounds like you would rather sit in an office and be an administrator
It's not a complete office job, I meant. It's a hybrid job.
How did you get USA green card?
I got it through DV Lottery.
Did you already have a green card? Last i heard, they dont sponsor visa for pilots
Without watching 20min video I will bet that there were 2 resons. Money ale lifestyle…how far am I from the true?
NEXT VIDEO . BIDDING system
Ok :)
It’s a bit confusing when you say “they’re hiring pilots”. Is it FOs or captains? Not the same. If it’s FOs, say FOs. US legacies are very rarely taking direct entry captains.
How did you immigrate to USA?
+1
Caner, listen to my advice! Move to Beautiful California, asap! If you are a pilot you can afford it! Dont worry about what people say against California!
Don’t stay in Huston , its a miserable state compared with California! Get Transferred to LAX! United HAVE base over here, i also can help you if you need opinions!
emirates pilots overwork
This guy is 2 diversity levels deep. A diversity hire on a literal diversity visa. lol
Is that the reason he was able to move?
In the USA, airline pilots, I guess pilots in general, have a social status that is generally good or at least interesting to the average person on the street. Is this something that is typical in most developed countries?
