Buddy of mine lives in Vietnam. His $2300 per month social security check is more than enough to live on over there. You can eat well each day for about $15 and his rent runs him $395 per month for a two bed / two bath condo there. Gas is $.69 per gallon.
Most Vietnamese family with 2 kids in can live pretty well with $1500 monthly at the moment. So if your friend lives alone he is all set here ( as long as he do not set foot in any luxury place lol)

Hello sir. For your followers. Americans can get longer term visas in vietnam. Up to a year at a time. Per the viet embassy site. Nice video. Well wishes.
Im from Vietnam, live In US very affordable, haircuts near my families house is 1 dong per person! (dong is money in Vietnamese its pronounced dom) Meals are 3-5 dong. Coffee stores are everywhere here. Every hot, perfect weather at 5-6 pm. Ho chi Minh or Saigon is a whole different level. 😅 in Vietnam there isn't fall or winter. Only spring and summer. But it feels like summer. Sometimes if you're lucky it can be the perfect weather every part of the day.
omg WOW thank you for mentioning about the Mac products and electronics being a bit cheaper there. I am in Australia right now and need new Macbook Pro and vlogging cameras but may just buy them when I arrive to Asia instead of getting them here! So helpful Joose , thank YOU
Joose the Nomad. Thank you so much for posting this video. I am strongly considering moving to Vietnam with the GF and wanted to know how much living expenses would be and communication/language barrier as I only speak English. Found this video to be extremely helpful.
bro this is too good to be true. can you do another video on the food and tell us what everything tastes like and how spicy it is, and how good is the coconut juice
The reason that your sim card stoppped working after 2 weeks is because you bought in the airport, which means it is under the name of the previous owner (they take your passport just to make you think they are making it under your name), so after a while the sim is blocked. You need to buy a sim card in an official store of Viettel or Vinaphone on city center.
Nah, let them all go to Danang now. It aint what it was pre pandemic. It went back to being chill from 2021-23. This year I noticed how busy it got by just looking at all my previous photos and seeing so many more Indian and Russian tourists. There wasnt one Indian restaurant in DN a few years ago and now they are everywhere!
the cons are also all the douchey digital nomads making vids about Danang being $1000 a month. Seriously, how many vids can you all make on the very same topic??
Great breakdown and I like how you had the list of items being filled in as the video played. I passed through Da Nang in 2015 and am thinking about visiting in November 2024. It seems so much more upbeat than HCMC.
Spent a year working the Quang Ngai area and got to Da Nang on occasion. Spent most of the time ducking AK47 and RPG rounds. The locals look friendlier than I experienced during my one year business trip.
Don't buy sim card in the airport. They are preregistered, so can 1-3 weeks old already and might even already have been used. I tried that mine had already been registered on Zalo app. I never buy in the airport again!
Vietnamese here. Living in Vietnam on $1000 per month is possible, but only if you are single and have no social life, no dating, and no weekend hangouts ...etc. Additionally, don't forget to save money for an emergency flight back, as there is no healthcare aid available.
This!!! I was dating, high quality beautiful girls as an Aussie it adds up quickly! The nomads sitting in cafes drinking water, that's how you live off 1k!
Hi joose, every since I found your channel, I've been watching it non stop, it's amazing. I also have asked my gf to watch it aswell? Quick question I am planning to go to Dan nang in late Dec early Jan will that time be OK? As I heard its still rainy season, 2nd question what is that name of that room u stayed at for 484 dollars on air b n b it looks amazing
Thanks so much!🙏🏽 Glad to hear! I think it's okay but not so warm that time. Sorry I can't share it here but you'll find it and similar places on Airbnb around My An😊
The have a beautiful temple in monkey mountain, amazing views of the city and coastline from up there, they also host the world fireworks competition and that dragon Bridge spits fire on the weekend. The river boat cruises n night markets are a must
Hey Joose, Great video. We just spent 5 weeks in Vietnam (Hanoi and Phu Quoc). I heard Da Nang is really cool and from what you are showing it looks great. We had the same issue with the same, if you buy at the airport they sort of scam you and give you already used sim card for 10 dollars. At Vittel the official service provider 1 month is 125.000 Dong more or less. Highly recommend Phu Quoc. Hanoi is just too much with the air pollution and double price compare to Da Nang 800 dollars for an airbnb in the city and traffic is hectic in my view. But as you said the food is awesome in Vietnam. Greetings from Phuket and keep up the great work!
@@JooseTheNomad Personally we prefer an island life with my wife. They are keep building the island especially on the north part. They are making it a little Italy or France 🙂. Just a more tranquil vibe than cities. Would love to ask you while you were in Thailand did you have an international driving license prior? I got fined 2 times already here in Phuket, but the police is here like to take pocket fines so I could negotiate to half price to 500 baht instead of 1000. What was your experience in Ko Pha Ngan and Koh Samui did they ever stop you for a check up? Any tips how you can get an international license online? I found a few websites but they are not really legit. Many Thanks Man!
My goal is to save up $100,000 so I could live in between Thailand and Vietnam comfortably for years. I could use the time to recalibrate, work on myself, work on my online businesses, and just simply have a more slowed down and enjoyable life.

Hello sir. For your followers. Americans can get longer term visas in vietnam. Up to a year at a time. Per the viet embassy site. Nice video. Well wishes.
@@rickya9593 Thanks! Is that really true nowadays?🤔
Im from Vietnam, live In US very affordable, haircuts near my families house is 1 dong per person! (dong is money in Vietnamese its pronounced dom)
Meals are 3-5 dong.
Da Nang is the best city!!!!! Cannot wait to be back, but this time will stay for a few months!!!! Hope you having amazing time there!
Nice!! Yeah I am but leaving soon, also coming back for few months again next year😄
omg WOW thank you for mentioning about the Mac products and electronics being a bit cheaper there. I am in Australia right now and need new Macbook Pro and vlogging cameras but may just buy them when I arrive to Asia instead of getting them here! So helpful Joose , thank YOU

Your videos are fantastic! We’re coming to Vietnam from June - August. Likely will spend a majority of it in Da Nang.
Thanks so much! Hope you know it's gonna be very hot, but enjoy🙏🏽
Joose the Nomad. Thank you so much for posting this video. I am strongly considering moving to Vietnam with the GF and wanted to know how much living expenses would be and communication/language barrier as I only speak English. Found this video to be extremely helpful.
Excellent vid. Will definitely look into going here.
Thank you🙏🏽
bro this is too good to be true. can you do another video on the food and tell us what everything tastes like and how spicy it is, and how good is the coconut juice
Really like your videos, lots of information straight to the point, and great quality filming. Keep it up! Can't wait to go here too

I live in Florida - 15 minutes drive is NOTHING. That Elite gym is 100% worth the money for the amenities
Haha yeah compared to western countries😄🙏🏽
100 A MONTH IS TOO MUCH, YES WORTH IT BUT I WOULD GYM AT A CHEAPER PLACE
maybe the best presentation of Da Nang i have seen so far
Great info mate. I like your style!
Thanks so much🙏🏽
The reason that your sim card stoppped working after 2 weeks is because you bought in the airport, which means it is under the name of the previous owner (they take your passport just to make you think they are making it under your name), so after a while the sim is blocked. You need to buy a sim card in an official store of Viettel or Vinaphone on city center.
Okay thanks, good to know🙏🏽
Da Nang is heaven. Also the vegan Passion Cheese Cake at Ivegan is heaven 😇

Why dont you show the cons too! Like loud karaoke all night, noise from building construction, pollution.. dont make it crowded 🙏😝
@@fs5775 Funny & true , they are all at it but kurt caz has a good take on it ..
Full of russians

Great breakdown and I like how you had the list of items being filled in as the video played. I passed through Da Nang in 2015 and am thinking about visiting in November 2024. It seems so much more upbeat than HCMC.
Thanks! November maybe a bit rainy? But yes definitely much nicer than HCMC
November is a rainy month here, the best weather here is from January to April.
Fantastic video as always. So great there.

Da Nang, and maybe even moreso nearby Hoi'an, are maybe my favorite cities I've ever visited. Great place for short-term or long-term.

It really sucks they're scamming like that..
yes, just buy it at the phone store
The dragon bridge is cool. It’s missing the flaming pearl. Nice video.👍🏻
Thanks🙏🏽
Off here beginning of December, can't wait, great video
Thanks! Enjoy🙏🏽
In November, December, and January, the winter winds are rough and the sea is rough, making it impossible to swim, but the weather is cool
Vietnamese here. Living in Vietnam on $1000 per month is possible, but only if you are single and have no social life, no dating, and no weekend hangouts ...etc. Additionally, don't forget to save money for an emergency flight back, as there is no healthcare aid available.
No healthcare?
No health care .. can't go
That’s absolute BS, frankly.
"healthcare aid"

Thank you! Why did you liked Phu Quoc? I'm thinking of trying it next year as many comments recommended it bit it just doesn't seem any special🤔
@@norbert2277 Yeah I prefer islands too but Phu Quoc doesn't seem as nice as some islands in Thailand or Bali🤔
@@norbert2277 I have one from Finland but never have been asked for it in Thailand. Where in Phuket did it happen?
