Well done. We are having this unit installed soon. The 24 seer TOL units were sold out and newer far more expensive units debut in 2023 with purportedly new refrigerent. Glad to get this one.
Good review. Looking at upgrading to comfort 95 furnace. Will consider this heat pump for the future to increase effeciency, add cooling, keep temperatures consistent and improve comfort.
As another data point to my original question below, to install this system in 2022 the costs to replace heat pump and handler is costed out at $10,500 after rebates. As a retired military veteran, mechanic and manager, this sounds to be a bit costly. What are your thoughts.
The most important part of a new system is the actual installation practices used to install it. Those practices can be shortcutted, or they can be thorough which takes a better trained staff and longer on the job site. Texas A&M did a study that stated 85% of all air conditioning systems are not charged correctly at time of installation, thus robbing the homeowner of the efficiency that they paid for. Equipment cost itself differs in different states as well as labor rates. Here in Columbus ohio we have the largest training center in the city, our guys get over 200 hours a year in training. Only 5% of companies offer training, and the ones that do offer less than 40 hours a year. We have many other videos on our channel about how people shortcut processes to bring price down. A properly installed system will last a minimum of 33% longer than an improper installation. Thank you for watching.
What is the tonnage? Can you let me know what else you got please. I got priced 14200 for a 4 ton unit with air handler and carrier infinity thermostat. I will get a 10kw heater as I am in Florida. There is a 1350 rebate but with inflation, I will take the 5 years 0 interest.
Can I get this heat pump 5 stage benefit, if I pair it with comfort series two stage variable speed motor 80 furnace and honeywell vision pro 8000, or I have to pari it with Infinity variable speed furnace to get that heat pump benefit?
I have a 3,500 square foot 3 level home. What ton do you think I need? I am considering the infinity 18 and the 24 Greenspeed. Not sure what the major differences are?
I don’t mind the carrier infinities but I had one just drive me crazy tonight code 35 gas valve miscommunication replaced gas valve and main harness as it was corroded at the plug into the gas valve because of an intake pipe coming into the top of the furnace that I did fix and put onto the side worked fine put my manometer on to check gas pressure turned the system off to get my manometer leads off and when I went to turn the system back on communication from the thermostat was lost just aargh
I had the original 25 VNA. Work really well for the first 3 years. Then the circuit board corroded and had to get replaced, 3 years later, it corroded again and they recommended a suge protector. And finally I had the communication error this year. It was due to compressor. It was cheaper to replace the entire unit than to replace the compressor. Having said all that, my 25 VNA only lasted 10 years and replace it with 18VS. We'll see how long this one last but if this has continuous maintenance issue, I'm totally done with carrier!
The Carrier Infinity is the Tesla of Air conditioning systems. Yes they are efficient but be prepared for more frequent malfunctions due to the design of the system. It is way more complex than a regular system. And once the parts warranty expires the cost of replacement parts are very high. Be prepared for repair bills from $1200 and up to $4500 once the warranty expires.
@@111000100101001 That depends on if the system is using R22 or 410 A. If a new system is needed just keep it simple. One speed with a standard 24 volt control system and you're good to go.👍

We are in Columbus ohio
many people complain about noise of infinity series, do you know why? Does 25VNA8 also start noisy?
Many new noises with new heating units. 25VNA8 has normal noise level
Is it a bad idea to install this older system in 2022? Or is there a newer and more comparable system?
R410a will be around throughout the lifespan of a new unit. New refrigerant is largely untested as of yet. Stick with proven reliability.

Needs pared with infinity furnace

You will need a local HVAC contractor to come out and do a load calculation to determine size.
Does the heat pump need a specific thermostat to have the 5 stage functionality?
Yes
What thermostats are compatible?
Completely depends on the heat pump brand and type. Look up your heat pump on the manufacturers website
I also have the same question. I think we have to use Carrier/Bryant thermostate. I guess only communication system can offer 5 stage benefit

Some just gas and go on an old leaker.
