They as a band and Chester as a vocalist were amazing. Definitely hits different now though, listening to their albums is like listening to one long suicide note

I personally think Chester was suicided along Cornell, they were making a documentary on Hollywood and the music industry. RIP them both.

All of Chester's songs were talking about depression, which he was battling for a very long time.
And in 2017, he broke and self deleted (sadly).

Honestly the exertion of energy singing along or even moving along can be freeing. It's personally pulled me back a few times.
Just came across your channel. Man I wish I could be you, discovering Linkin Park for the first time.
I’ve seen other people react to them for the first time, but you by far bring the most to the conversation. You pick up on a lot of intricacies of their music immediately. I think you are very good at doing this type of thing, and I will check out more of your videos. I really enjoy what you have to say about what’s going on in the songs, and I really love your attitude about it all.
You just enjoy music, and I can feel that energy coming through. Thanks for this video, and especially the one for their song “When they come for me”.
The lyrics in the bridge section are from the remix of the song, where they are performed by the singer from Korn, and I assume he wrote that part himself, which is why it has some very typical gory metal imagery that LP aren't prone to using.
A great many of their songs are about negative emotions, thoughts, and experiences. It's sad that Chester eventually made his choice but their music, and his voice, has helped so many people battle their own demons and come out the other side.
Will always love Linkin Park. RIP Chester. Good on ya for doing more of his stuff, Mr Boyd.

This song remixed with 99 problems isn’t something you’d think you’d need, but you definitely do.
Man I miss seeing them live. I do believe that almost all their songs hit different after the tragedy that happened. RIP Chester.

Mike Shinoda and the guitarist Rob Bourdon wrote most of their songs. I recently saw an interview with Shinoda that his childhood had very little chaos but he mostly wrote about chaos.

Chester committed suicide a few months after, and on the birthday of, his good friend Chris Cornell. Both are a huge loss.
Look back on the lyrics. It was Chester’s suicidal note.
I have a hard time listening to Linkin Park because every damn lyric feels like a cry for help now....
You should definitely react to more Linkin Park, but this song isn't a great example of their music, since even they kind of hated the song.
@PenneySounds they didn't hate the song they just didn't like how the music video turned out. In fact Mike talked about it when he did the show on the channel React (Linkin Park reacts to Teens react to Linkin Park). They did this song at almost all of their concerts. There is only one song that one of the band members didn't like singing and that was Chester didn't like singing crawling and that was because it was really hard on his vocal cords.
