So this song is actually purely about what it's like to write a song, and making a track good enough for an album to meet expectations. They made a song about making songs for an album. "Bleeding it out" is getting every last ounce of passion and creativity out of a person to put it shortly.

Mike Shinoda is so underapretiated in my opinion, cause he was the main lyricist and creative force, and he and Chester had such a brotherly chemistry, such a magic combination this e two

Per Mike Shinoda the words refer to every time he would write something and then meet with the group to talk about it and they didn't like it or thought he could do better which was very frustrating.

It was my favorite song to run to when I was in the military. The rhythm stays the whole time and it's energetic. It works!
The lyrics were written by Mike Shinoda the guy rapping if you didn't know and I was basically about how many time they rewrite this song and others to get it.
The opening line was here we go for the hundredth time had grandad pins in ever line and throw them up and let them shine was mike expressing this.
Obviously the lines sung by Chester "I dig it deeper just to throw it way" was basically like you say, them putting everything in to a song and in the end it was not good enough and they would throw it away and start again.

This was the last song they finished for their third album, and it was the last song finished because they rewrote it countless times. They almost gave up on it. That that first line "here we go for the hundredth time
I have this awkward memory where I sang along this song in my Childroom. Loud. My Mom came home and yelled at me, but for me this was the purest music can ever be.

You hit the nail on the head. That’s what it’s about. Specifically, it’s about writing and rewriting the verse to this song about 100 times, because their band mates didn’t like it.
Everytime I heard this song live (3-5 times) they played it slightly different and everytime it was better then the last. This band is 100’s of times better live. It is also one of the most amazing things in my life to see an entirely full stadium jumping to the beat of this song and sing in rhythm with the band.
Watched a lot of your vids and this is the one of the few I saw you break into a genuine smile on. Rock on

Just a small suggestion. I know it is difficult with Chester being well, CHESTER! but I would suggest to also hear what Mike signs as well, his lyrics are pretty much the story in many of the songs.

This is my go-to reaction channel, and it's the best one in my opinion. But it amazes me how you succeed reacting to live performances of amazing songs where you can barely hear the words, and when finally, this comes, the official version is picked when there is an amazing live version that is 10 times better. I know it's impossible to pick these correctly for a first listen, but I just find it uncanny. Keep up the good work mate.

Minutes to Midnight is mostly about war (came out a little after Iraq and Afghanistan I think?), the opoid epidemic and some other relevant stuff from that decade. This song is mostly about Soldiers giving it all for a country who doesn't care about them

I never got the impression of this song the way you interpreted it, which is interesting. I've always understood the chorus as Chester just repeating ehat he is saying, "digging deeper just to throw it away". But not necessarily digging deeper every single time he says the phrase, make sense? Just my thought on it since I first heard it back in my younger days.
