Personally I think the value will be more evident in his quality and articulation than his overall size. While I find this more interesting than either the Ark, and Nemesis owning the original Armada release no way I'm justifying 300+ Canadian for this guy. Still really want to get the Metroplex but can't seem to budget it. Really looking forward to the reviews of Tidal wave though. While there have been major changes to most size classes I find the Deluxe scale the most notable when comparing past releases with new. How is a figure half the size twice as much as the figure from 15 years ago? You'd almost think a size reduction would work towards a consistent price.
Tidal wave is very small, I use the Height renders and compared it to The Nemesis and with the squatting pose of the nemesis, he comes up to about the shoulder ratchet of her
So he's big, bigger than Omega most likely and The ark but i'm not feeling it, The stuff he does doesn't seem worth it anymore to me
so what ima do is wait till around April, thats usually when they they reveal a Generations Selects Titan and if its not good, ill consider this guy
We get a mega sized, fully articulated Tidal Wave. That does almost all the things the original toy did, including combining with Megatron.

This is probably the last Tidal Wave we may ever get that's accurate the the original design. Forget that horrible Broadside remold. He's still gonna be slightly shorter than Ark.
I'm hyped as hell we're finally getting a new Tidal Wave, he's hands down one of my favorite Transformers, Armada was my first Tf media. Easily top five characters. His original toy was a hail grail for me since I never got him as a child, luckily I got it a couple years back. But my only nitpick with the new toy is having to rip off parts of him to combine with Megatron. So he will have incomplete hands, legs, and a hollow back. I would have preferred those parts to be solid as an "Armor Upgrade" pack for Megatron. And I would have liked them to give up the armor pieces for Tidal Wave's Ramjet Mini-Con. I already pre-ordered Tidal Wave and can't wait to get him in hand in a couple months. And I can't wait for Fans Hobby to officially announce their Tidal Wave.
What really bothers me about this Tidal wave is the fact it not only omits the features from the original but tries too hard to reinvent the wheel of his transformation to the point He can't go into any of his ship modes without partsforming. The original transformation was perfect and could have worked at titan scale with minor tweaks like adding a leg cover flap and some sort of spring mechanism to allow his knees to bend back in a manner kind of similar but not identical to Siege Starscream's lower legs. The "feature removal creep" is so intense that there's fake joints sculpted in for the legs that give the implication it can fold out into the troop carrier boat when it can't because the other side is just solid and not a clip-in flap. it's like he specifically got hampered transformation wise to add in the new kind of rushed looking base mode.
EDIT: also bothers me how his arms and the mini arm shield both lack the iconic tapering of the aircraft carrier mode, which means the aircraft carrier mode is now basically a non-dynamic brick. Also really weird choice to make his thumbs massive crab claws. The only other gripe I got is the fact the head is based ona severely off model shot from the anime but they implied he might have a more accurate head with the "gamer edition" that may or may not come out which is both fortunate and unfortunate.
Who the fucks wants a base form to begin with, I want my tidal wave being just a big ass robot/ship, I'm never wanted nor will use that base mode
@@blacksoldier430 Now that HD stock photos are available I can see the hinges seem to be "real" but there's still no advertising of the ship mode's troop transport function being left intact. The new base mode is seriously just the worst, it's like a crude imitation of fort max.

It comes down to you're paying for extra components / size (more plastic) or more engineering. In this case it's the extra engineering required to make him split into multiple modes and combine with Megatron.
I personally don't feel it needs an extra mini-con or add-on characters.
Ok metroplex was simple asf and blast effects should’ve been included but man his articulation is phenomenal. A better transformation would’ve been nice but I’m so happy with the articulation.
The best thing about this is it's not Tidal Wave, it's Micron Legend Shockwave. I never bought Armada or Energon Tidal Wave, I had the Takara version because I liked the colors better. I hate the green on Armada Tidal Wave. So this works out great for me.
Hasbro has been phoning it in for a while now... cutting corners, giving you less, removing figures from the assortment and raising the prices.. and we eat it up.. if you buy it.. you have no one to blame but yourself if your unhappy.
Worth it. Tidal Wave is in scale, too. He's not that big.
I’ll say this much: As someone who is very picky with their collection and is up to date on the Legacy Armada figures, Tidal Wave is a no brainer day-one purchase.
For me, the G1 and BW remakes were a bit too basic, granted figures like Inferno and Skylynx. Those lines hinge more on their personalities and characters whereas the UT is gimmick city. Each figure can do their own super-hero-y shit, and that was always the appeal of Armada, and it’s translating to these new toys perfectly (for me).
With Tidal Wave- unlike most of the other titans- he brings out play value in other figures. That and he’s not just a big front man. He’s one of the boys hanging in the fringes with the Decepticons.
This release feels less Titan-grandeur and more like another member of the squad, and him being able to offer Megatron his signature first-ever gestalt upgrade in toy format is a dream come true for me.
So yeah. This is an easy buy. He’s far more interesting than the other titans and I feel more connected to him than the Nemesis or Ark or Zarak? I don’t even give a shit about Zarak lol. Omega and Trypticon were the only other two hitters for me, but otherwise it’s gotta be Tidal Wave man.

edit - To add to his value, he actually has variable modes that are actually fun and functional. I can’t really say I ever gave a shit about the other Titans base modes except for Omega, and the Ark and Nemesis are just long-awaited hyped up gap fillers for collectors. Didn’t strike me as worth it.
I've been watching videos about how empires fall. Every country/empire goes through the same exact cycle. And if you look at everything going on with America, you will see that we at the end of the cycle. The collapse, downfall, reset. Raising prices, cutting corners & laying off employees. This is happening worldwide but America is about to lose it's "global superpower" status. That's why we are seeing this.
No he's not ! 149.99 at best i personally own every titan released! I wish we'd get a full upgraded new tooling titan class tripticon. Ofcourse you'll have all your people that don't know value say yes lol . Just because he's big don't mean he's worth 200 . My personal name for this guy is trashticon 😂😂. I'm hoping he will go on clearance I'd grab him for 150 or less . To me this looks just thrown together! Looks like just 15 bucks of plastic thrown in a 5 dollar box and shipped out just cheaping out like always . Just my opinion ofcourse.
I'm not gonna pick it, I would love to but I'm not a huge fan of titan class and I think of the other things I could spend my money on. most of the other figures around 20 to 30ish If you wait for sales. with 200 dollars I could get up to 6 ish figures. ten if i can get them cheap. but in Fairness with Tital Wave he is essentially a titan figure, plus and upgrade kit for Armada Megatron and is a triple changer? Quadruple changer?. robot mode, the ship mode, the battle base mode and seperating into the smaller vehicle modes AND the upgrade parts for megatron and can be stored in the main figure. hes got a lot going on.
As it looks at the moment i dont think its worth the asking price, however if they hadn't skimoed out abd let the mini megatron pieces actually transform into a voyager sized tidalwave tooo id be nire inclined to say its worth it

I think $200 for a titan figure is appropriate. In my experience, the cheapest titan figure I've seen online was about $250 except for the Ark and Zarak figure that are always on sale for $160. Besides, 3rd party figures are expensive alone and there is shocking no complaints about it

Is anything Hasbro produce worth what they actually charge? do you feel comfortable paying shareholders bonuses instead of for actual toys? if so then have at it, personally I don't see Hasbro as a worthwhile investment when indie companies are putting them to shame almost constantly these days. Each to their own but Hasbro's plummeting stock prices and low coffers agree with me.
I am nervous? Past titans all seemingly got crazy sales, but I personally never saw the blue guardian go on sale and the nemesis only got one 50$ off sale.

Hasbro redoing the Armada decepticons is the only reason I own any Transformers so I'm gonna buy him. Here's hoping they release Demolisher and Cyclonus too
