Legit amazing! Hopefully upgrade kit designers are watching and listening in. We need an upgrade kit that fixes the gap in his back, gives him poseable fingers, adds the aircraft carrier elevator back into the right shoulder and a ramjet minicon. Fixes for the loose connections on the land-to-sea troop transport vehicle(his legs) would also be appreciated.

Omg 😱 my heart stopped when I saw the thumbnail, that video was incredibly smooth btw. Unlike your other titan videos where you kinda struggled to show him off, this video showed everything clearly very well. It’s nice to see how you’ve grown 😉😉😄
It’s a shame how many features were removed from the original. Aside from the missing Ramjet the legs on the troop transport (legs, specifically where Megatron’s feet are) don’t open up to reveal seating and the spring loaded missiles are gone (good riddance). The transformation shown doesn’t work while combined anymore, either. The original let you keep the arms attached to the body and let them snap together when they met over the head (which collapsed halfway into the body for clearance) and the legs, or rather lower body, were one piece. If you were to look at 10:03 the crotch area not covered by the chest plate was where it clipped into the body. For transformation you rotated the hips 180, spread the legs into a split, and rotated them so they were facing forwards with the inner thighs upwards and ready to collapse, storing the thighs in the troop transport for dark fleet mode and becoming scaffolding in combined mode. I also have problems with how they made the arms look compared to the original. The original aircraft carrier was more narrow in the front instead of rectangular and the thumbs were thinner so when they combined it looked like it would cut through water. The two guns should also have been attached to the fingers and rotate to become a single combined cannon. All in all, I think removing Ramjet in spite of other titans having companions, having the mini ships leave gaps and being unable to combine with each other, and a worse transformation leave me disappointed. I still think it’s extremely cool, but I definitely came into this review with too high of expectations.

Love the camera work in this vid. You need to check your higher frequencies for the audio imo because when you speak the S and X is coming out ear piercingly high pitched

Tidal Wave was always one of my favorites from Armada, I had the classic one and I played with it so much, I was so disappointed I never got an Armada Megatron to go with it. This looks sick and if money works out for me I'm gonna go for this.
I never watched Armada but I have been picking up the figures. I'm SO glad I ordered Tidal Wave. He is probably one of the best Titans they've put out in awhile. Absolutely brilliant how the Dark Fleet separates like that and upgrades Megatron. Fantastic stuff they've done with the Armada line.
I do find the lack of ramjet a shame tho but uhh how’s the tolerance of the small missile turrets on your copy. I feel like mine is too tight and may need to be sanded down a bit😊
Would simply loosening the screws on the knees help prevent the issues with the ratchet joints? I really don't feel comfortable with the idea of cutting springs or other components and risk creating other issues
That is a really good question, unfortunately not tho. Due to how the shin panel clips in, it combines both halves of the leg and prevents them from expanding 😭
I've been really curious about how the Titan class figure would merge into the Leader class Megatron, and I was surprised to see there's actually a mini unit for the combination. Nice figure, awesome review!

I know this is a cartoon figure, but imagine painting him to look like he did in the game, all metallic colours with all the grey parts being gunmetal with a black wash and silver drybrush, ooooooofffffff!!! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 that would be amazing!! All that moulded detail would pop out and look absolutely stunning!!! I might have to two of these at some point in time. Keep one as standard and give the other one the video game paintjob. I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking of him as the German aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin as part of the deal between the Decepticons and the German Military during WW2
The figure is good when not compared to the original Tidal Wave, but when I look back, I notice that what made the original TW so cool was that the ships weren't just vaguely hydrodynamic bricks. I bet it was possible to squeeze a Micromaster compartment into the carrier and do at least something with the troopship - it's still hollow, after all. Instead, they made a silly base mode (that doesn't look the part because TW has never been designed with one) and the Mini-Fleet that could have been handled as a Weaponizer. Sometimes the loss of a gimmick is a relief on the figure (Armada Prime's legs), but when the gimmick in question defines the altmode (the carrier and troopship components), I don't think it's worth removing. It doesn't even require springs or motors, just a single opening compartment.
This one of my favorite Titans FOR SURE. This figure is amazing. And that mini Dark Fleet is AWESOME. I LOVE IT. I just wish the mini Dark Fleet would combine as well but they are amazing as they are :),
If I was to ever buy a Titan, it would be this one! I loved him in the game! So frigging cool how you can have the combined Megatron and the full sized Tidal Wave displayed at the same time!
I have no exposure to Tidal Wave, but I've got this figure on pre-order. I've got every Titan Class cast that has been produced so far, and I don't want to stop now. That being said, there are some very interesting things going on with this figure, not all of them are things that I'm interested in, however. My favorites so far are the fully combined modes. I love the robot mode and then when all 3 alt-mode components are combined, that's just awesome! I don't mind the 3 piece alt mode, and will investigate that for a little while. However, I will NEVER do the base mode... I'm not impressed by just laying the figure down and positioning the arms and legs in a spread eagle configuration... as you demonstrated in this video, you can do that with almost EVERY transformer... I didn't even like it back in the Titans Return line. And I will NEVER, EVER, combine these with Armada Megatron... mostly because I don't like the Armada Megatron figure... I do appreciate the engineering that went into making those parts compatible with the other figure, and it's nothing short of an amazing feat from the engineers... but.. it's definitely not for me. Only other thing to mention... I would LOVE to pick this up at a discounted price in the future rather than the pre-order at full price that I did... the only problem with that is distribution of discounted figures is spotty at best, and hugely unreliable. It's sad, but true. If I could rely on getting the figure at one of the discount retailers, I would certainly do it. Thank you for the review! Great job!
maybe lubricating the ratchet coukd also help. the old reissue god ginrai had spring related issue in the hips, the springs were very heavy duty meaning the hips were very tight to move into base mode, the solution was to open up the mechanism and apply some oil, prevented the ratchet teeth grinding.
Got lucky getting this figure early in the last UK release. Got him because of the nostalgia from the ps2 game 😁. Biggest figure I got and I recommend getting. I feel the mini dark fleet especially the mini aircraft carrier when removed compromises the look of his arms
Maybe a Studio Series re-release with video game colours (AKA the better original Hasbro toy colours) perhaps? We really need figures based off the Armada video game in the Studio Series.
Exactly, this is what most people don't get, it applies to everything. But I will also say, sometimes, makers do go wild with their prices for no reason at all, but other than that, yeah, always buy new and at full price, companies are businesses, about making money with their products.
I actually prefer the original to this one since it properly connects to Armada Megatron's arms when combined, came with ramjet, and was a much more manageable size.
Sadly cancelled my Pre Order, didn’t want all the money tryna go through at the same time with pre orders I wanted MORE lol. But he looks great. Great review as always!
It's genuinely crazy seeing Emgo get his review up before you I never got a Titan before but I must get this, I owned the original Energon version covered in clear green plastic and yellow lighting, always annoyed me that he didn't have knee articulation I want him but I have no space to put him
Bangin Review. I'm a little disappointed the mini Dark Fleet can't combine into the flying battleship for though. I'm going to risk waiting for a sale on this one.
Killer review, mate! It looks awesome. However, I have to agree that for that price, they should’ve included minicon Ramjet and blast effects. I just hope that my copy doesn’t come with that knee qc issue. Fingers crossed.

I might be crazy but I feel like the combined form based part of the design of the Alicorn in Ace Combat 7. Obviously it isn’t actually the Alicorn but it shows some similarities very few but they’re noticeable.
Literally may favorite character in all of Transformers. Finally, a Titan size one. If Fans Hobby ever release their 3rd party one I’d love to compare them. The biggest downsides of this one for me is no Ramjet and no retractable docking bay in his right arm to store Ramjet. Also I wish I didn’t have to disassemble him to transform him into his giant ship mode. The original Armada figure you could keep all the pieces connected to transform it.
A really well done figure, only downside I have is you can't transform him from robot to combined alt or back like the original. Not without splitting him apart I mean
Tidal Wave is my latest Titan class I’ve purchased. Ever since I picked up Titans Return Broadside, I’ve been wishing for a Titan Class, commander class minimum version of Broadside and this mold would be perfect if they chose not to make his own version
I hope a 3rd party upgrades the small ship 🚢 so that it can become a small Tidal Wave in robot mode!! (Which in My opinion, is a miss opportunity from Hasbro's side) 😢
Wouldn't the Trypticon fix also work for Tidal Wave's knee springs? That was to remove them and basically repeatedly squeeze/tense the coil for 20 minutes or so. It took some of the tension out of it.
There have been other tidal wave reviews already but if you're not first then I wait for yours as I feel that your videos show off the figures better so I get a true sense of the figure and its quality. Thanks for the hard work. I cannot wait to get this titan, I hope that Gamestop Canada gets it in early like some of the other retailers.

I just realised way the dark fleet combines is exactly the way the three Thunderbird ships combine in Thunderbirds 2086 (called Technoboyger in Japan), I wonder if there was a little unacknowledged inspiration there in Tidal Wave’s design!

I love the robot mode and then when all 3 alt-mode components are combined, that's just awesome!
I don't mind the 3 piece alt mode, and will investigate that for a little while.
However, I will NEVER do the base mode... I'm not impressed by just laying the figure down and positioning the arms and legs in a spread eagle configuration... as you demonstrated in this video, you can do that with almost EVERY transformer... I didn't even like it back in the Titans Return line.
And I will NEVER, EVER, combine these with Armada Megatron... mostly because I don't like the Armada Megatron figure... I do appreciate the engineering that went into making those parts compatible with the other figure, and it's nothing short of an amazing feat from the engineers... but.. it's definitely not for me.
Only other thing to mention... I would LOVE to pick this up at a discounted price in the future rather than the pre-order at full price that I did... the only problem with that is distribution of discounted figures is spotty at best, and hugely unreliable. It's sad, but true. If I could rely on getting the figure at one of the discount retailers, I would certainly do it.

maybe lubricating the ratchet coukd also help. the old reissue god ginrai had spring related issue in the hips, the springs were very heavy duty meaning the hips were very tight to move into base mode, the solution was to open up the mechanism and apply some oil, prevented the ratchet teeth grinding.

Got lucky getting this figure early in the last UK release. Got him because of the nostalgia from the ps2 game 😁. Biggest figure I got and I recommend getting.
I feel the mini dark fleet especially the mini aircraft carrier when removed compromises the look of his arms

Exactly, this is what most people don't get, it applies to everything.
But I will also say, sometimes, makers do go wild with their prices for no reason at all, but other than that, yeah, always buy new and at full price, companies are businesses, about making money with their products.
My copies leg joint broke immediately in the right leg but I still adore this figure

I actually prefer the original to this one since it properly connects to Armada Megatron's arms when combined, came with ramjet, and was a much more manageable size.
Sadly cancelled my Pre Order, didn’t want all the money tryna go through at the same time with pre orders I wanted MORE lol. But he looks great. Great review as always!

I never got a Titan before but I must get this, I owned the original Energon version covered in clear green plastic and yellow lighting, always annoyed me that he didn't have knee articulation

Killer review, mate! It looks awesome. However, I have to agree that for that price, they should’ve included minicon Ramjet and blast effects. I just hope that my copy doesn’t come with that knee qc issue. Fingers crossed.

The coolest part is the transformation is basically like the original. A throwback in every way. Hoping for that Energon recolor, childhood recreated

I might be crazy but I feel like the combined form based part of the design of the Alicorn in Ace Combat 7. Obviously it isn’t actually the Alicorn but it shows some similarities very few but they’re noticeable.

The thumbs will adjust into the correct position in a similar way to the original toys thumbs but no one on youtube seems to do it.
Literally may favorite character in all of Transformers. Finally, a Titan size one. If Fans Hobby ever release their 3rd party one I’d love to compare them. The biggest downsides of this one for me is no Ramjet and no retractable docking bay in his right arm to store Ramjet. Also I wish I didn’t have to disassemble him to transform him into his giant ship mode. The original Armada figure you could keep all the pieces connected to transform it.
They really should’ve packaged in ramjet for that price point!
A really well done figure, only downside I have is you can't transform him from robot to combined alt or back like the original. Not without splitting him apart I mean

Tidal Wave is my latest Titan class I’ve purchased. Ever since I picked up Titans Return Broadside, I’ve been wishing for a Titan Class, commander class minimum version of Broadside and this mold would be perfect if they chose not to make his own version

I wish people would show off the CORRECT configuration for Burning Megatron, with the arm pieces pegged into Megatron’s forearms, not his shoulders.
That’s how the instructions show them combining. The components are too heavy for his regular forearms
Wouldn't the Trypticon fix also work for Tidal Wave's knee springs? That was to remove them and basically repeatedly squeeze/tense the coil for 20 minutes or so. It took some of the tension out of it.

Definitely a parts former, not sure that many armada fans out there love that price, but damn he is huge.
I know Dna Design gotta make an upgrade kit for legacy united tidalwave to fix his knee problem and make his mini vehicles into a mini tidalwave

There have been other tidal wave reviews already but if you're not first then I wait for yours as I feel that your videos show off the figures better so I get a true sense of the figure and its quality. I just realised way the dark fleet combines is exactly the way the three Thunderbird ships combine in Thunderbirds 2086 (called Technoboyger in Japan), I wonder if there was a little unacknowledged inspiration there in Tidal Wave’s design!
