@@AlexSeverinski Personally, that's where my nostalgia and overwhelming desire to own a brand new Titan-class Tidalwave comes in. It sucks that the ratchet sucks but like... I'm okay with that. Besides, mileage may vary so your copy has a greater chance of not having that issue.

I'm so excited for this guy. And the fact that he is a Titan makes me even more excited! I've been wanting a new tidal way figure since the original back in Armada. What's also cool is that that box art is inspired by the boss battle you fought against this guy in the PS2 Armada game. That boss battle is burned into my memory from when I was a kid. I still catch myself humming the boss theme sometimes.
I was a little disappointed to see a report that Titan Tidal Wave can't transform between robot mode and combined-dreadnaught mode without separating, but ... honestly? Given just how freaking BIG he is? Combined transformation would've been too dangerous, and this guy's bringing plenty as it is. Got my fingers crossed about the knee ratchets though ... thanks for the tips on how to fix that, and as always, thanks for the review as a whole!
Correct; I haven't seen the figures or watched reviews of those two (or is it one plus redeco?) I also don't have physical space to collect Titan class TFs - I like Tidal Wave too much *not* to get this one, but I'm a little worried about where I'll put him once I have him.

I feel like, just unscrewing the top screw at the knee halfway (or a quarter) might give the knee more room to flex, if the problem is tension, and if it pops in half when you start unscrewing it anyway.
I mean legacy armada prime is literally already engineered to do that too. Like the autobot logo on the top of the cab, or front of the chest is legitimately removable and has a 5mm port. So you take jetfires shield, plug that 5mm port into the chest, and then the logo into the shield. The legs, well that's simple tbh.
That combination with Megatron reminds me of when I've got to transport a canoe from one body of water to another by foot. His chin is in competition with American Dad immensity.
It pisses me off so much that the TITAN figures with minicons haven't gotten them. Yet sg minicon and the pulse con set came with minicons. There's 0 excuse to not include mini cons in figures that cost this much. Hell for the longest time we got packed in exclusive figures but even THOSE aren't exclusive anymore now that mainframe is being released separately from the ark. Hasbro is making it really difficult to stay with them instead of jumping ship completely and going 3rd party..

And literally everything that isn’t unique releases, commander classes, and titans have leaked. And we can already figure out what the next commander is for generations.
I think I remember seeing something about how the leftover thumb on the big robot, after removing the Megatron add-ons, can be rotated 180 and the weird flat thumb becomes a fake smaller hand and the cannon becomes a fake smaller thumb so he can still look like a complete robot.
Got mine today from BBTS. One thing I noticed is that when you remove the pieces from the arms/aircraft carriers, you can rotate around the thumb section and it's thick enough to simulate fingers with the cannon serving as a thumb. Didn't actually look at the instructions, either, as I was able to figure him out pretty well.
Honestly, that's a really clever workaround for keeping Tidal Wave as the colossus he's supposed to be in canon while also making it so that he can combine with Megatron.
Tidal Wave is my favorite Armada figure, so I was very much looking forward to this. But man, my favorite feature isn't on the titan. Love the rising deck hangar on the original for the minicon jet. I wish they had incorporated that somehow, even with a little jet partner or something.
I admit, as much as I would love to see the mini sections combine to form a mini Tidal Wave, that's asking for too much, so I can live without. What I CAN'T live without however, is the fact that he evidently can't go from 'bot mode straight to super ship mode! That was arguably the coolest feature of the original toy!
I opened up those legs today after finally opening this. The springs are too long. Both your solutions are pretty good. I went with loosening the screw 180 degrees around that ratchet. Since I don't transform that much that should be good for most folks.

Welp, even with the overwound spring, I'll still get it. I'll just perform some surgery as soon as I get him, just like with Trypticon. His height bothers me a teeeeny bit, but Emgo saying that he makes up for it in heft tempers that disappointment somewhat. Also, a third option for knee repair; take the spring and compress and release for 10-15 minutes. That works out some of the tension of the spring and usually achieves the same result. I did that for my Trypticon (and his infamous exploding hips) and it worked wonders. From what I've seen on TFW2005, this should work for this figure too.
I've always thought of Omega Supreme was a good rival to Tidel Wave, both are huge carriers/guardians of their factions, both now have base modes and finally you dont want to be stepped on by either of them. Lol. Thanks and have a great day
There's a third solution... You can replace the spring. You can either buy them separately or if you have junk Transformers for for custom making I'm sure there's a spring that may fit... Pretty much what I had to do with Triptacon
I have had horrible luck with Tidal Wave. The first one was missing the small battleship that stores in the back. The second one was missing some of the small guns for the small battleship. Make sure to not wait to long on checking your figures after getting them, I would be upset if I got stuck with one missing something or missassembled.
I have have the original japanese figure. He towers over it about the same amount as legacy primes supermode. The greys of the older fig seem darker. And the purple is not as dark as the legacy fig.
My BBTS order isn't scheduled to ship until July right now; I do like how the upper lip, intentionally or not, has a mustache appearance, which along with his chin/beard gives him even more of a naval commander feel. [I just wish I could find a spare Core Class Skywarp to paint/repurpose as Ramjet]

Just to stack up on things, I really wish they have the Skyboom Shield and Requiem Blaster made for the Legacy line just to give us Overkill Megatron, which is Burning Megatron (the Tidal Wave combo) with the three Mini-Con weapons added.

My dad passed recently and I want to build a Diorama of all the voyager fighter Jetformers and Two Tidal Wave vs Two TopG Maverick figures since he served on a ship that launched jets and TopG is his favorite movie and Transformers was what we bonded over most. I miss you, old man. You're gone way too soon ❤.
Even with a few disappointments (slightly smaller than other titans, can't transform from combined alt to robot without parts forming, no Ramjet buddy even when previous titans had Minicons partners) I can't help but love this dude, can't wait to get one for myself. I'd never played a game where the boss at the end of the level *is* the level...

Missed opportunity not giving the leg panels seats for legends class figures. The gimmicks in Armada were really something else. Maybe not sideswipe... but most of the rest XD

There is no secret mini robot. The designers said they initially planned it, but they were unable to because of time and budget.

Just to stack up on things, I really wish they have the Skyboom Shield and Requiem Blaster made for the Legacy line just to give us Overkill Megatron, which is Burning Megatron (the Tidal Wave combo) with the three Mini-Con weapons added.

Always been one of my favorite characters and two part episode. My dad passed recently and I want to build a Diorama of all the voyager fighter Jetformers and Two Tidal Wave vs Two TopG Maverick figures since he served on a ship that launched jets and TopG is his favorite movie and Transformers was what we bonded over most. I miss you, old man. You're gone way too soon ❤.
Even with a few disappointments (slightly smaller than other titans, can't transform from combined alt to robot without parts forming, no Ramjet buddy even when previous titans had Minicons partners) I can't help but love this dude, can't wait to get one for myself. I'd never played a game where the boss at the end of the level *is* the level...
Would’ve been cool if they found a way to make the mini pieces have their own mini tidal wave mode but overall it’s still a cool figure.
Didn't they told that separating the mini dark fleet wouldn't affect the robot mode? Because it actually looks bad without them

Missed opportunity not giving the leg panels seats for legends class figures. The gimmicks in Armada were really something else. Maybe not sideswipe... but most of the rest XD
