Is this for using a fixed gear or something? Is it for making smoother shifts? I couldn't find a description of what it does. Maybe for shifting while coasting?

So when we place a new order do we just put in the notes that we want the freewheel 2.0?

You'll see it as an option when ordering new kits on the CYC website. No need to add notes.

Unfortunately not, but you can install a belt drive to the rear cassette since the inner chainring is a standard 104BDC

what was wrong with the version 1 hub?

The version 1 freewheel isn't quite strong enough (IMO). The way it works is it has 4 pawls inside the ring which engage the outer body when you put force on the pedals, and disengage when you backpedal or when the motor is going so the pedals don't spin. The problem is, I broke the pawls inside the freewheel 3 days after receiving my kit, and CYC realises they are not strong enough, hence version 2.0.

Check out HI Powered Cycles novelty electric bike called the Typhoon Pro. 26x4 rear tire 27.5 in front. It uses a Hub drive but placed in the bottom bracket as it is a mid drive
bike. I think it is the very best you can buy.
